Win Today And Then There’s Tomorrow….
Still got another sleep to go before Game 3. Until then I guess we watch Rondon completely shut down the crappy Rockies?
Still testing negative. I just took what I THINK is my 100th covid test since this all began. It’s within 1 or 2 of 100, I have tried to keep track. 100-0. That’s pretty fucking good, mates.
James mentioned Atlanta yesterday, as now an over .500 team and serious wild card threat. They have A’s coming into town, and have 2 bottom feeders in NL East with Marlins and Nats. Phils are still bad without Girardi and Braves should be able to light up their awful pitching.
Like watching Rodon, just hope he can be effective for longer than 5 innings without having to throw 110 pitches.
Rodon is not putting guys away with any efficiency. He needs to get through batters w/o going 8-9 pitches a guy.
From the last thread re DJ’s post, there was a Wizard of Oz one like that.
8:00 PM – TCM – Wizard of OZ (Fantasy/Musical)
— Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again.
Remember Joe Bob Briggs? Columns used to show up in Chron on weekends.
Movie reviews rated best actress and breast actress, with breast count including “dreaded stunt breasts.”
He was hysterical.
He’s still out there. This is someone else talking to Joe Bob. He has a subscription podcast called The Last Drive-In. . . .
Braves have A’s at home for 2 followed by Pirates. B/R has them and Giants as most likely first round WC opponents, at present. Interesting stat: ATL has hit second most HRs and allowed fewest in NL.
Joe Bob Briggs had one of the greatest criticisms I’ve ever heard about a movie. He said:
“There’s too much plot getting in the way of the story.”
There are some movies like that. And novels, too.
He must’ve been kidding, sending one over quasi redneck noggins. “Story: The queen died and then the king died. Plot: The queen died and then the king died of grief.” E.M. Forster. Like the famous guy in Uvalde, I guess. Or maybe Joe Bob had a similar take by Aristotle in mind. Anyone seen The French Dispatch? Memorable breasts.
The pompous and over-rated Joe Maddon got fired today. Or as the team’s press release stated: he was “relieved of his duties.” Such a gentle euphemism.
Not surprising 12 straight losses will do that Maddon has lost the teams respect if they ever had any.Trout should of never signed his long term deal He will never sniff the playoffs ever with this team, same goes with Othani..
I watched Intentional Talk on the MLB Network for the first time in a long time, and I wasn’t aware that Chris Rose had been “relieved of his duties.” There’s a new dude teaming up with Millar.
Wilmet!
Mr.Ed HR #7 dude is just a pro!
Wilmet rakes in any uni.
Rookie of the month Gonzalez continues to impress with a 2 out RBI hit..
Til he puts glove on. That ball should have been caught. Dunno what’s up but anything hit near him is an adventure.
Why the fuck doesn’t Casali see Joe halfway to 3rd? And Rodin won’t make it to 5 let alone 6.
We caught a break when the back runner dumbly didn’t go on the steal.
And Marquez with the 9 pitch inning. Rodin needs one of those
Good to see Rodon ignoring all the baserunners he’s allowing.
At least Dirty Sanchez signaled his futility with walks.
When did this game start?
A couple of hours for 4 innings?
Rodon is done cause of his laboring and pitch count, he won’t get the win and if he wants some going forward he needs to get more balls in play earlier in counts, instead of a shitload of foul balls..
Jeeebus. 4 strong for Rodon and we hit the Brenbia aisle way too early.
If this were an NBA game it would almost be over. That’s kind of mindblowing.
Bobble-head card? OK, I rarely dislike a ballgame give-away item, but I’m not digging the bobble-head card concept.
Nice line by Krukow after Estrada bailed back on a pitch up and end..
“That curled his nose hairs!”
They have a lead off runner every inning?
Wow. Fucking Rodon going 4 is lame as fuck. Alvarez is killing us it appears.
We of course turn 2nd and 3rd and one out into 0 runs.
That about Brebbia and Alvarez give up the lead as McCovey Cove Dave gets a dunk but another ball as well courtesy of Blackmon’s 200th career bomb off of “Alcatraz Alvarez”
Slush says right quad tightness for Craw, reason Estrada in there.
We suck,
Paul is just out of hernia surgery (some complications, but he’s okay I think). Thoughts and prayers . . .
Please send best, Blade.
Paul might be the nicest guy we have here…
Will do Loo.
Just spoke with Paul and he’s back home from his surgery. I am in Vietnam, but in Tuy Hoa. Told him if he needs anything, my ex will assist (who is in Saigon). Per Paul, he indicated this about the surgery complications:
“ Two things: 1) the distention of small intestine tube had made its way into the scrotum. They basically had to pull it out of my left testicle and put it back in place. Ouch. 2) Blood pressure, sky high and just wouldn’t come down. Still way too high. Hence, I’m going to try to sleep as much as I can the next day or two.”
Post Script: Going to be in Saigon next week and hopefully him and I will get together for lunch or dinner. Photos coming . . .
