As bad and boring as they look, they’re still in the thick of the WC race.
A check of the WC standings:

Tied in the LC with STL for the last slot (STL has 4 more wins)
2 back of SD in the LC (SD has 6 more wins)
3 back of ATL in the LC (ATL has 6 more wins)

Buyer/Seller trade deadline debate month has begun.
Rodon and Joc likeliest to go.
There should be offers for Yaz (Yanks?) and probably anyone from the BP can be had pretty cheap.
    Webb the only untouchable…

Thing about MIL and STL is they have easier path in that division with awful Cubs and Reds (who could sell someone off too) plus Pirates to beat up on like Giants did vs. Rox and AZ last year.

Bart hit a 484 foot HR in Sacramento last night. 484! The Giants aren’t going to give up on him yet. He also hit an outside pitch to right field for a single, which is kind of impressive, too, in its own way.

Villar hit an HR, double, and single, and plays respectable defense at third base. There’s nothing else he needs to prove to get a chance at the big club.

Regarding the Sac game last night, which was broadcast on local TV, it was great to see Steve Sax as analyst on the broadcast. A few weeks ago his son was killed in a military accident of a plane or helicopter, I can’t remember which. A terrible thing for their family to have happen, and the families of the other soldiers, also.

Willie, thanks for reminder last night about the broadcast.

welcome Zum. Looked like decent crowd too. could not watch SD get trampled again by LA.
Kings added a couple shooters to roster and Coach Brown stole couple assistants from GS. They could be lot more interesting upcoming season.

      Aircraft.
Osprey crashed out in the desert in SoCal.
Those things are flying coffins, have been since Day 1…

The game was very entertaining. Sac lost 10-9, but the game had a lot going on in it.

GD starting in CF today for Texas at Citifield….

remember all the complaints about Bochy getaway day scrubini lineups lol.
      everyday thing nowadays for SF.
What happens when Gonzalez ready to go which should be soon? They are overloaded on LH OFs. If you DH Joc, obvious move, then what is LaStella (non spit version) doing?

Shea says Mercedes is back up, Estrada who has been sick put on Covid IL though he has yet to be tested. DeSclafani will have ankle surgery next couple days.

Well, first hitter with a double.
On the pregame show, Kapp sounded not happy at all. Very curt, unusally clipped answers, after Miller intro’d with note of losses in 9 of last 12. Dropped an unprovoked allusion to Joc being pulled in mid-games for lefty-righty. Defensive about it, basically said he’ll stay in when it looks appropriate, he won’t when it doesn’t. Sounded like a hostile witness during X-examination…

    D-isgrace…

  12. snarkk said, on July 3, 2022 at 2:07 pm

    Wow.
Cannot execute a tailor made DP.
Is this Walton guy John Boy, the Writer?
Seriously, they have Nobody who can play short down in Sac? WTF? This is like ‘62 Mets territory…

    • snarkk said, on July 3, 2022 at 2:11 pm

Can’t anybody here play this game?…

  13. willedav said, on July 3, 2022 at 2:44 pm

“Bronx cheer” after out successfully recorded after Sox go up 6-0 and ball gets away from Wynns on wild pitch.
wow what a mess of a weekend.

The score looks like a Djokovic set at Wimbledon.

    • willedav said, on July 3, 2022 at 3:12 pm

      lulz.
      Pederson crushed one, finally.

      • Macdog said, on July 3, 2022 at 3:17 pm

        Yeah, Giants won’t get bageled.

  15. willedav said, on July 3, 2022 at 3:58 pm

well pressers and questions won’t get any easier for Kap off today’s effort.
Do they really miss Posey this much? Hitting coach that left, Ecker?

  16. Flavor said, on July 3, 2022 at 4:05 pm

they won 107 games last year. What the hell was that? Is Buster Posey the most important baseball player to ever live?

    • willedav said, on July 3, 2022 at 4:50 pm

Did he run clubhouse, pitching staff and help Kap, besides having fine season at plate? Something missing with this group. Hey these are things I’ve seen mentioned by others as to what’s wrong. Kap’s name comes up too. Just asking.

      • willedav said, on July 3, 2022 at 4:53 pm

And you know beat writers won’t go there either. Shea today said they need to sign Soto or Judge which everyone knows ain’t happening.
