A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Snakes Paying Us Back For Last Year

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 12, 2022

I was hanging in there till LLovera Boy took the stage. That band got tired in the 80s

At least Cobb made it through 6 for the second game in a row.

That’s something I guess.

Pitching coaches really have to get Dovall to firm up his fastball control.
They must be working on it. He’s relying too much on the slider.
It’s a good to great slider, but the league is sitting on it…

doval alters how high he brings front leg up. Last slider he hardly did it at all, other times he brings leg up to waist. Guy on MCC site said when he throws fastball he does more of slide step than high leg kick.

    Come on. No extras.

  4. unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:42 pm

Here we go again. Not gonna move the runner.

  5. alleykat69 said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:43 pm

When the runner is a hobbled knee Belt why bother

  6. djloo27 said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:44 pm

  7. unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:46 pm

Thank God we have the slowest fucks on the planet.

  8. alleykat69 said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:47 pm

    Good call Loo!
To bad they didn’t have anybody else to play to pinch run for Belt..

  9. unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:48 pm

Can’t we use one of our 7 pen guys to run?

  10. unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:50 pm

It HAS to be Crawfish. Mr. roll over to 2nmd.

  11. unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:51 pm

    All beef hooked.

Wilmer is the best all-around, well, the most dependable, position player on the team. They should offer him a decent multi-year contract.

    • djloo27 said, on July 13, 2022 at 3:59 pm

They should, but I bet the Mets bottomless pit of money will bring him back to NY.
They could really use him now, but either way…

      • Lurker John said, on July 13, 2022 at 4:02 pm

The Giants have a bottomless pit of money, too, they just choose not to spend it.

  19. snarkk said, on July 13, 2022 at 4:48 pm

I missed most of the inning.
Why didn’t they pinch run for Belt?

    • unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 4:54 pm

No one to pinch run for him. My thought was use a pitcher. If our LFer is good enough to pitch, Alvarez is good enough to pinch run.

      • snarkk said, on July 13, 2022 at 5:43 pm

        Figured as much.
Cupboard bare for pinch runner. All the substitutions leave no room for any moves in extras.
Yeah, use a pitcher to run — use a guy who’s getting hammered recently and won’t be missed much if he pulls a hammy. Weren’t we there re: a pinch runner for JT back in 2003 in Miami?…

      • unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 5:49 pm

Yep, and we didn’t put Eric Davis on the post-season roster. Even at 40 he was faster than JT.

      • djloo27 said, on July 14, 2022 at 10:33 am

        Chuck,
Davis retired after the 2001 season. Maybe you thinkin of someone else?
Just don’t want you to get into a bar room brawl over this…

  20. alleykat69 said, on July 13, 2022 at 5:01 pm

You still would have to bring in a pitcher to play the outfield are bring a pitcher into run for Belt. And if they didn’t score you lose Belt’s bat and his defense.,

    • unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 5:06 pm

Well, my bigger beef was not moving Belt to 2nd.

  21. unca_chuck said, on July 13, 2022 at 5:32 pm

And there’s no more motherfuckin’ snakes on our motherfuckin’ plane.

Gotta love Wilmer. And Mr. Ed….

    • willedav said, on July 13, 2022 at 7:09 pm

      Willie Davis #3.

    • willedav said, on July 13, 2022 at 7:17 pm

Moose Skowron from Yanks #14 Roseboro of course behind plate. Durocher wasn’t mgr. just loudmouth coach. comments said that was from 1963. That was team that blanked Yanks 4-0 to win WS. Who was #55 in OF, idk.

      • willedav said, on July 13, 2022 at 7:25 pm

Baseball Almanac lists 35 different players for that year, and none of them wore #55 uni. hmmnn

  23. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on July 13, 2022 at 7:36 pm

Love Ed’s slide into home. Great special effects. 🙂 Yeah, ’63, the year I lost my baseball innocence and started hating the Dodgers 4-ever….

  24. willedav said, on July 14, 2022 at 6:44 am

Huh Brewers Braves Cards Pads and Phils all lost yesterday. MIL has lost 5 of 7, as Hader gave up 3 run bomb in bottom 9th of 1-1 game in which Brewers got only 4 hits. Corbin Burnes and his 2.20 ERA vs. Rodon tonight.

  25. alleykat69 said, on July 14, 2022 at 7:41 am

Hader was to miss the A/S game due to bereavement leave, now their calling it family issues and he continues to pitch? I believe his wife recently gave birth, maybe they’re some complications?Wish him and his wife the best, but why pitch if your heads not right with obvious distractions? Should take more time off imo

  26. snarkk said, on July 14, 2022 at 9:58 am

95.7 radio talked with a Brewers beat guy or similar this morning.
He said Yelich is a shell of what he was before, and will never get back to the old self. Chronic back issues. Now, basically a singles/doubles guy.
Also, at present the Brewers have a bunch of guys hurt and either subpar or on IL.
So, he said this is a good time to face them…

On Baggs twitter he used words ” On some level this is a failure of leadership from Mike Matheny and Dayton Moore” in regard to 10 unvaxed players unable to travel to play in Toronto.
Responses (freedom etc.) are just bizarro as you might imagine.
I just don’t get disregard for health and safety of other players coaches and staff they would be hanging around for 6 months.. NBA didn’t have near this problem over course of their season in same situation.
