A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Raining Wins

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 6, 2022

The article I read online this morning began “With nothing left but pride to play for, the Giants defeated the Dodgers…..”
Hey, whoa, wait one godamn minute! A quick check of the standings show that our post season chances jumped from 0.6% to 1.1% with that great victory at The Latrine.

If we win out I’d like to fucking see them try to keep us out of the post season.

So, win out. Why not?

Well, that is a lot of games to win. Win as many as you can.

That was my first look at Brinson in a Giants uni. Beefier than what I remember of him and certainly taller than I remember. Wouldn’t it be nice if one of these dumpster dives who can play center actually sticks. Does he still have wheels on the bases???

Kap batting 1.000 again with early game D moves and pen holding on.
So Villar after 2 run bomb is replaced at 1b by Wilmet who had been at 2b. Estrada moved from LF to 2b, Johnson from RF to LF and Yaz entered game in RF.
Dodgers 3b coach windmilling Barnes in, really dumb decision. Guy is backup C, there were 0 outs and top of the lineup due up next. Still, giants hit 5 HRs without Joc ever getting in game.

cbs roto site said Lux will not play at all during this series. Had a cortisone shot Saturday due to back issue and won’t be available until Friday at SD. Wondered why Betts was at 2b last night.

Speaking of Pads, they got 4 hits last night in 5-0 L at home to DBax. 2019 2nd round pick R Nelson shut them down through 7 and AZ pushed home 4 runs in final 3 innings off Pads pen including 1 off Hader in 9th without a hit (walk SB ground out sac fly). AZ has now won 9 of 11 and record up to 65-69. Giants have 6 more with them before season ends. Next season, hmmnn

Brinson, fine, whatever. Bowker hit 2 bombs in a game, too. We need to splash around in the free agency pool like we’re fucking drowning.

      July 31, 2010:
John Bowker traded by the San Francisco Giants with Joe Martinez to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Javier Lopez.

29 games left. Lots of tough teams to come. LA, Atl, Mil, and the scorching hot DBacks.

6 games behind SD in the loss column. 3 more with them.

5 games behind Mill in the loss column with 2 games coming up on the road.

A lot is gonna have to go our way, but yeah, keep winning and the rest can take care of itself.

They have to go something like 20-9.

I picked 88 wins so all that is is 23-6. Make it so.

    • djloo27 said, on September 6, 2022 at 10:14 am

      Zito once went 23-5.
      Makes it sound more possible…

Yeah, we need some OFers that are much better than Yaz, Slater, and DigDugDog. No idea about Brinson, but he can stick around as the 4th OFer. Yaz has been a nice little story but nope going forward. Joc? Sure, if he isn’t that expensive. 2 year deal. We need 2 full time OFers that aren’t slappy hitters.

    • Flavor said, on September 6, 2022 at 9:06 am

i’m tired of all these fucking guys. I’m sick of Brinson already and he just got here. We need some bats swung by men with huge cocks. Or something equivalent to that……

      • djloo27 said, on September 6, 2022 at 10:16 am

Brinson is the outfield version of Alen Hanson…

  8. willedav said, on September 6, 2022 at 10:13 am

Dogs don’t really need these games either-they are 7 1/2 up on Mets for best in NL and 8 1/2 up on Braves. They are just trying to stay healthy/get guys back like Treinen last night. Play .500 rest of the way they still get to 106.

    True or False:
The Giants starting pitcher tonight is listed as someone named Wei-Chieh Huang…

Dumpster Diving and it feels so good
Dumpster Diving cause I know we should
I love to open Dumpster lids and find a discarded player
Cause it makes my cheap ownership group happy and content
I will (Z/H) go above&Beyond to tease fans for players
we will never acquire, by feeding them false hopes cause we think their all dopes..

  11. mrsprtdude said, on September 6, 2022 at 4:06 pm

Judge and Turner!!! Keep on dumpster diving for 4th & 5th OF.

  12. willedav said, on September 6, 2022 at 5:16 pm

    Slush says Brebbia opens
    Brinson CF
    Flores 2b
    Davis 3b
    Longoria DH
    Estrada LF
    Crawford SS
    Bart C
    Villar 1b
    Johnson RF

  13. djloo27 said, on September 6, 2022 at 6:01 pm

    Fun fact:
Thairo Estrada has 5 more RBIs (53-48) than Brian Reynolds in fewer ABs…

  14. mrsprtdude said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:05 pm

Cool fun fact Loo. I learned one last night.

Estrada was shot while eating dinner with his wife as a minor leaguer. Played most of a season with a bullet in his hip. WTF? Dodger announcers talked about it during the game last night. Had it removed and the next season was called up the Yankees for the 1st time. Crazy!

    • djloo27 said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:13 pm

      Must’ve left a lousy tip…

    • Bozo said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:43 pm

That is crazy, even Kevin Mitchell would be impressed by that. I think the announcers also said that first game with NY was Estrada’s birthday.

  15. willedav said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:07 pm

Braves up 3-1 on A’s over in Oaktown. With a win they will tie Mets for first in NLE, as Mets lost to Pirates 8-2, after dropping last 2 games of weekend vs. Nats.

  16. mrsprtdude said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:15 pm

Just looking at the schedule, and a HUGE what if SF will look back on sadly
    Aug 17th – 31st SF was 2-11
If the just play play average ball and go 7-6 they would be 70-63. 1/2 game out of 3rd WC spot.

  20. Bozo said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:45 pm

    Damn, I hate bullpen games.

  21. unca_chuck said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:46 pm

Get his ass out of there. Fuck.

  22. unca_chuck said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:46 pm

    Jesus. Fucking worthless.

  23. unca_chuck said, on September 6, 2022 at 7:48 pm

Fucking Garcia is dogshit lately. Why did Kapler leave him to do exactly what happened? Fuck the pen game. We gonna use everyone as it is anyway.

Something to be said for having guys who can run a little…

  25. djloo27 said, on September 6, 2022 at 9:02 pm

And guys who hit HRs once in a while…

  26. djloo27 said, on September 6, 2022 at 9:06 pm

Maybe Joc takes ’em down before this one’s over…

    • Bozo said, on September 6, 2022 at 9:13 pm

      Hope someone does.
