Had a fabulous time golfing with these gents yesterday. Heard the Giants won a game finally. And today the 49ers begin their march towards their 6th trophy.

Oh man, Shaw’s defense gave up 5 TDs to SC the first 5 times they had the ball. Cards moved the ball but kept screwing up and SC just ran right by them. Jerry Rice was on SC sidelines, as his kid. backup WR Brenden, transferred in from disaster that is Colorado Buffs.

Exciting day of football, as Appalachian St beat SEC team on road, Bama-Texas went all the way to wire, Kentucky beat Florida in the swamp, and Wazzu saved some Pac 12 dignity by beating the (formerly) ranked Wiscos on road.

How did ESPN wind up with Giants-Cubs, two bottom half of NL teams playing out string, as late afternoon game? Plenty enough drama involving contending teams in NL East, AL East, AL Central AL and NL WC, etc. to go around.

A mentor told me you always learn more about your team when you lose rather than when you win. so maybe Coach has better handle on who he has and what he can do with them, especially given O line he has. Didn’t think he made use of receivers and played way too conservative. Lance hit some long passes given time to throw but if that isn’t there then run more quick hitting stuff where ball is out in 2 seconds. All the penalties (d holding on running plays/late hits) smack of undisciplined play, which can’t continue to be abided by staff.
And yeah as Chuck said, the niners didn’t lose ground on anyone in Division lol.

I think the starters seeing so little action in preseason causes a lot of early season sloppiness, too…

I was hoping football would get me out of the Giants sucking mood and instead it was even worse. I don’t expect the Giants to win any more. I wonder how long it takes for Shanny to start getting some blame for such under performing football. Bad penalties, lame play calling, team not ready to play…The worst is him saying that the pettise TD swung the momentum and the game out of their control. Are you Fing kidding me. A good coach knows it was a fluke. We are better. Go kick some ass. I wonder his emotion about it rubbed off on the team because they played like shit the rest of the way. I also wonder if he is permanently scarred by the NE and then the KC Super bowls. How often is this team ahead in the 4th quarter and loses? Seem like almost every loss…

  Yep. I was pissed beyond reason after the NFC Championship game for the same fucking reason I am pissed today. Shanahan plays with a 7 point lead like it’s a 30 point lead. He went WYA too conservative on the 3rd quarter drive that resulted in the FG.
  
  At some point they need to start fining Greenlaw for the godawful stupid penalties he routinely commits. But really. The refs gave the Bears like 3 gift penalties that were terrible. The Aiyuk OPI, the Greenlaw unsportsmanlike, and the defensive holding that either killed drives or extended theirs. Same fucking shit year after year.

  What bothers me is when people say they have no regrets in their lives. I don’t get it I have so many regrets that I lost count years ago. I guess that must have a lot to do with decision making.
