Baggs did have some tweet during game about FA SS Dansby Swanson being comfortable watching HR going out of park at Oracle.
Meanwhile Darvish wiped out Mariners for 2-0 W as Pads stay 2 up on Brewers, while Braves cut Mets lead to half game. um, Pads magic # to eliminate Giants down to 11.
lulz. Sure he has nickname that might come off better. Baggs has been vocal about hoping Giants go out and add to roster this offseason. Column in Athletic today about Greg Johnson being OK with spending $ necessary for players Z wants, and all in on Zaidi going forward, beyond end of his deal.
How many times have we heard the Giants say :“We’re all in going for star players but never are when it comes to making it happen?
Swanson I doubt leaves the Braves, they are building a very strong YOUNG team with talented players like Riley,Acuna jr,Harris,Albeis,Olson, and some great young pitchers.(Strider&Wright&Fried)
And most of these guys are locked in with long term deals. They will get a deal done with Dansby just on principle cause they love his name and he’s proven his worth on a very solid Braves team..

That is interesting, but who cares about a bunch of “Mendoza Line” piece of shit players belly aching about their manager (whom last year was voted “Manager of the Year”)? I also question if this is actually valid, after Wilmer said he loves it in San Francisco immediately following the signing of his new contract a couple of days ago . . .
The 107 win season was a statistical anomaly that somewhat blinded most of us. Has Kapler lost the team? I don’t know, but we could end up with 30 less wins this year from last with basically the same team and that sure isn’t a very good look.
Personally, I can’t stand Kapler, he comes across as a boring robotic prima donna to me. So, if the Giants fired his ass with a year remaining on his contract, it wouldn’t bother me a bit.
I figured he was a placeholder for the rebuild when they hired him. I think next year will be his last.
My problem with him is he seems to be very random at times. He just doesn’t seem to have a feel for when a guys is going good or bad and he goes against his analytics all the time.
Kapler has made some head scratching moves, that I don’t understand. Most of those involve not putting the best team on the field and sticking with pitching that was obviously not working. BWDIK
Xoot, per the last thread, Mule Variations was the first album of Waits’ I heard. Friend of mine borrowed my Trout Mask Replica album and mentioned Waits. Been a fan ever since.
The McCovey statue was not in a good location to start with. It was pretty far from the ballpark, next to that little ball field that no one hardly ever used. They could easily find a better location for it next to the ballpark, like the other statues.
I guess the idea was to actually have it out in the cove, but everyone knows it’s McCovey Cove so it doesn’t really need to be out there and putting it in storage is ridiculous and a little cold…
I could see the “Kapler speak” getting a little old after a while. The other day I heard him in an interview say something like “The goal in each game is to win each moment.”
Seriously, how useful is that? It kind of sounds like it means something, but it really doesn’t.
Easy for successful coaches to get caught up in their own nonsense, and yes Kapspeak is nonsense.
Something else about last year/this year: all the accolades he got for what he and his coaching staff were able to do with entire team but really with all these withering vets on downside.
Um how did that go this year, eh? And it’s not just the offense, it’s the bullpen that’s fallen apart, the defense (from missed to cutoff men to Mr. Gonzalez) and the baserunning too. How many times have Giants been picked off first–and what is Antoan talking about over there before it’s happened? If you want to talk about flukes and one offs, this is a good place to start.
Early in the season, when things looked promising, Kapler’s comments became much more interesting and insightful. As soon as trouble rumbled in, Kapler turned defensive. He hasn’t been worth listening to for months.

i can’t support a guy on my team named *Dansby just on principle

Is that the same Dieter from Finnerty’s?
I mentioned a few weeks ago that Kotter’s national anthem protest may not be sitting well with a number of players…

Like now. Rodon is out? Why?

Belt in booth with K n K.
I never knew BB9 was such a chatterbox.
mm yeah. Tweets already out from beat writers on what he said about wanting to keep playing here.
Grooooaaaaannnnn.
MRI tomorrow for sprained larynx…

Trout Mask one of great album covers of all time.
Where’s McCovey’s statue?
Was he canceled?
He’s in storage due to the construction where the softball field used to be. They should build a little island in the cove for him to stand on.
Doval is dealing. If he can pound the strike zone like this, he’s gonna be OK.
Game over, man!!!
Hey, nice series win, probably the last one of any consequence this season.
