There Are Not Enough Swear Words In The World To Describe That One
2:06 left. First down. Three timeouts left. All the time in the world to move 20 yards or so and kick a game winning field goal to send Russell Wilson back to Corny Town or wherever the fuck that loser is from.
What does Jimmy do? With all that in his favor he throws a PRAYER into blanket double coverage.
That was the dumbest thing I have ever seen that motherfucker do and he does at least 3 of the dumbest things I have ever seen in my life every single game he plays.
That one hurt. All the horrible feels of a Jimmy G start came back like a tsunami running me down in an Indonesian town. Jimmy G may not be the worst but he is most definitely the dumbest.
What a disgusting awful loss…….
This old man hit the sack at half thinking surely surely they can score at least one td. Watching the second half this morn, my first reaction was what a quintessential Jimmy G game, especially that forced throw never seeing the defender to the left eyeing the receiver.
That was an out and out shitshow.
Issues with O line not likely to improve if Williams is out. JG can’t play rattled with guys in his grille, and not many holes opened up for running backs either. Odd day in NFL for sure==lot of QBs ton better than JG got beat yesterday. Weird how often it happens that after first scoring drive team that looks great never gets going again.
You know what’s funny? We threw on 1st down that whole first drive. I’ve been saying that for 4 years now. Throw on 1st. Shanny runs 99% of the time on 1st. Since it worked so well that first drive, we stopped doing it. And we punted 4 times after that first drive. Wonderful.
Same shit Harbaugh would do. Like he would stop doing something that worked because he thinks the other team will key on it. Well, they don’t. They stop themselves.
Bill Walsh? If he found something that worked, he did it over and over until YOU figured out how to stop it. HE would not stop it himself.
The NFL has no shortage of morons top to bottom…
But they still won’t win the Series.
1960 WS.
So much for run differential…
Wait . . . I just looked this up. The Pirates had the best run differential in baseball, and beat the team with the better record. This is as it should be. The universe was briefly in order.
. . . the last time it was so.
If memory serves, twinfan was at the Mazeroski HR walkoff game with his mom. And someone spilled beer or ketchup on him.
I doubt the Giants acquire Judge, nor any of FA SS, and allow Crawford to finish his career at that position next season and possibly beyond, as they do have top prospects at the ready.
What I am wondering is if they could build a team more like Guardians, built on superior SPs and pen (4th best ERA in AL) plus speed and defense and use the park’s dimensions and weather more to their advantage as opposed to how team was built 2021, with league leading power and slugging.
Guardians are plus 58 run differential. Currently 14th AL in HRs, 5th in doubles, 3rd in triples (!) and 2nd SBs 4th BA 6th OB, 8th in runs. 3 x SPs have ERA under 3.50 and very effective pen.
Giants appear to have some prospects likely a full season away from being at ML level, and instead of trying to add one dimensional power hitters like Pederson could instead add more hitters like Slater (who would hopefully hit cutoff men from OF) who get OB, steal bags and defend. Estrada leads team in SBs already and with rules against shift contact line drive hitters could be more valuable.
That Niner game last night took the cake. And the cake was made with cow dung.
Estes said some things that bugged me yesterday. One of them was when he said “Yaz is getting hot at the right time of the season,” I guess meaning the salary drive, which, who cares about that? When the season was on the line, Yaz stunk.
Yaz has gotta go. I’m reading bio of Paul O’Neill, “Nine Innings of What Baseball Taught Me”, a line drive hitter who wanted to use whole field and be on top of (and not launch angle) the ball.
first 6 years with Yanks 93-98, he was amazing. Hit .300 every season, OPS no lower than .871 (and once over 1.000) with .500 slugging, 30-40 doubles and 20+ HRs. And often got walks up to near the Ks. This kind of lefty hitter I do think would play at the O.
Slater btw is one of 5 guys who lead Giants in triples…with 2. They have 15 as a team, all season, and sit 14th NL. What? In a park with a designated Triples Alley? Less old guy plodders, pls. More Vaun Brown type burners.
IDK why Shanahan gets called an offensive genius. His offense seems pretty pedestrian to me. Way too conservative and dumb game management. He’s got Ayuk and Deebo and Kittle, and can’t or won’t try to consistently get them the ball in space so they can do their thing. Bill Walsh would take this offense and get 350+ yards / game even with Jimmy G…
Every game seems to follow the same path. Early passes that work. Happened in the Bears game, Seattle, and this one. Aiyuk gets a couple, Deebo as well. Then they are not heard from for the rest of the game. Kittle didn’t run a route over 3 yards.
No tempo changes, no hurry-up, no no-huddle. Nothing to EVER change the pace of the game or the play calling. He’s up there with Vanilla Mike Nolan. We throw on 1st down about 0.0001% of the time. When we did it yesterday, it worked great. Quick passes, guys were open, it opened the run game. Quick TD.
So, natch Shanahan ditches the plan that was working and went back to the plodding methodical shit we all hate. 4 possessions, 4 punts.
If Walsh found a weakness he exploited that weakness until the other guy adjusted. Shanahan stops it himself. Harbaugh had the same problem.
Yankee announcer just said Gausman has the worst BABIP of any qualifying pitcher since 1920!
huh, had to look this one up, but as far as most interceptions (11) since 1981 by Trevon Diggs last year, the man he equaled was…the forever immortalized Everson Walls, as rookie out of Grambling.
Paul Krause had 12 ints as rookie for Skins back in 1964.
Matt Brieda for the 1st down! Why is it the guys that get hurt with us every year seem to not get hurt when they leave?
Giants are being real stupid.
Chuck..Because our medical staff SUCKS!
Best headline in a while Craig. I was still cursing when i woke up this am. Drove an hour to watch the game with my brother. he was the same. Grr.
