Still. Not. Eliminated
It’s wild to think we can be 30 GB the Dodgers and still STILL have a shot at the post season. 5.5 back with 6 to play. I’m assuming Milw and Philly would have to lose their remaining games and we’d have to win out but I don’t know that for sure and I’m not checking on it.
Gonna be out of town this weekend, I’ll probably manage daily threads but if not now you know why.
Radio guys were singing Rodon’s praises today begging the Giants to re-sign him but cautioning *29 other teams will want him, too*. Again, that’s probably true, so why didn’t Farhan sell him at the break? You can’t fucking tell me nobody wanted this guy. A wasted opportunity by Z and in my opinion he straight froze up and choked at the deadline this year……
Yeah Phils got swept by awful Cubs and have lost 5 straight. Old fans might be recalling Gene Mauch. Be interesting to see how playoffs unfold and if MLB would try and alter format somewhat for next season. finishing 4th as top WC has its advantages, but then if you win you gotta beat #1 just to get to CS.
If you were gonna bet who winds up NL Champ, would you take Dogs or the Field?
field, fo sho
Canonero II (1971 Derby Winner) was part of the mutuel field which went off around 9-1.
Individually, he probably would have been over 100-1…
hmmnn just read Ian supposed to weaken as it moves inland from SC coast. so hopefully all Senor Loco’s will be safe.
A lot of rain, some lower areas are flooded some. but the side canals/ditches haven’t crested yet. Not much in the way of wind events here, 20-30 MPH gusts maybe, no flood surge as of yet. Similar to a storm we had go through here recently except less wind. So we are a little wet but good. Thanks for checking in.
Hey Willie, WWOZ is doing a Festing in Place right now (Thurs-Sun), Some good sounds that you might like checking out.
Oh man thanks for tip. Glad y’all OK.
Sean Hejelle welcome to the show!
Following his 1st big league win Thursday the Giants players hazed him good with a shower of Red Bull, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, one beer and will probably still smell gross for a couple of days after..
Very mature.
Did they rub it on his balls?
that’s like what they do to jockey’s who win their first race. It’s stupid and gross. If Mike Smith and Prat came at me with baby oil and baby powder and milk and whatever else they dump on those jockeys they would think twice about doing that again after I was done with them.
The jocks are big on shaving cream…
It would end up their asses with twins bat of they tried that shit on me
Saw some James Wiseman highlights from preseason game in Japan vs. Wizards. 20 points 9 boards in 25 minutes. Lobs off screen and roll with Curry, jump hook, baseline J and some slams, including one over Porzingis. Hope he can stay healthy and continue to develop his game.
If Phils sweep split doubleheader vs. Nats, Giants would be eliminated, and possibly before they take the field tonight.
They’re starting Bunning and Short on 2 days rest…
ah yes. and hoping for more Plays of Wine and Rojas.
They also had Wine and Boozer…
Maris’ son is enjoying his time in the spotlight, talking smack about 61 being the REAL record for HRs. Take a hike, Mr. Maris’ Son. Your dad played his games in a stadium with a joke rightfield. Maris’ and Judge’s record is tainted, too, in its own way.
Yeah, agree, what a douche, he can go fuck off.
The whole baseball record book and HOF are pretty much a tainted mess at this point…
Santa Anita back in action and Umberto Rispoli wins first by a head on turf.
Looks like most of usual suspects jockeys and trainers back, plus Christina Blacker and track announcer Frank Marihmadi. bunch of stakes races this weekend.
Just finished re reading Amor Towles wonderful ” A Gentleman in Moscow”, really enjoyable. “Casablanca” movie does play a part, and couple pages from end comes the repeat of famous quote from Capt. Renault, “Round up the usual suspects.”
Uh-oh, Phillies win opener. We’re on the brink.
Ah, MASH. I saw some of the show again, and was reminded of how great it is.
Hawkeye had put on a suit for some occasion.
Trapper John: “Nice suit, Hawkeye!”
Hawkeye: “Yeah, it’s been in my family for generations. My grandfather was buried in it.”
Unlike Bonds, Judge usually gets a pitch or two to hit in most of the ABs I’ve seen…
Sad to see such a small crowd for all those Willie Mac winners. Mrs. James is going with Wilmer.
“one of the more challenging strike zones in the game” said Krukow about home plate ump C B Bucknor. could be wild night. Good for Wilmet, well deserved.
I dislike the Diamondbacks and their “athletic” young players, who are never going to win jackshit, as much as any team. And Chris Elliot on the mound has totally pissed me off this year. Satisfying bottom of the first.
Inside the park, little league style.
Now that was a fun trip around the bases.
Longo style.
Yaz air mailed that one.
Go Giants!!
A very long season that went by quickly with so few memories.
The team seems to have good spirit in the dugout.
They must be psyched to go home…
Not a movie – a documentary really.
This was exactly Bensonhurst/Bay Ridge 70’s…
