A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Seattle

If you didn’t like the Mariners before I bet you like them now. Wow, what a fun game to watch.

NFL today, I don’t have a feel for how the Niners will do but assuming they will have to rely heavily on their defense and some Baker miscues.

Winning formula, that. Worked last week, as they sacked SB winning QB 7 times, forced fumble, got pick 6 and dropped 2 other ints. Ah it’s like the outrunning the lion joke right? G just has to not be as bad as Mayfield, and he has better support cast around him.
Like to see running game get going and Kittle more involved beside blocking. Start road trip on good note.

Musgrove vs. Bassitt today in NYC. Bassitt can be an FA, so any success in post season could help his next deal a lot…or not. Pitched pretty well at home but won more games on road, despite ERA being a run higher. Lot riding on this one obviously in front of hometown fans.

Hoping Mets win because I think they will be a better match to beat LA. In a 5 game series game one always important, but if Mets face them game one on Tuesday. Mets 4th starter against Dodger #1 likely Urias. next game Keshaw vs Max, then Anderson or Geoslin vs DeGrom, then the other against Bassett. Favors the Mets imo

I don’t have any dogs in there races but I do hope the Dogs get stomped.

Yeah, Seattle’s game was one for the books. If that don’t kick the team into high gear then nothing will.

    Nice game in London.
    Congrats Mac!

Yeah, looks like the Giants are back.

      Thanks, hell yeah!

Take over first place if Rams bounce back and whack Dallas this afternoon, right?

Fucking Shanahan is already gonna go conservative.

that andy reid commercial is….one of the worst things I’ve ever seen

    • alleykat69 said, on October 9, 2022 at 2:34 pm

Really stupid ass commercial for sure!
They really should have a buffet showdown with Reid and McCarthy followed by a food fight..

Jesus. Drive killing turnover. Drive killing penalty.

  9. unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2022 at 2:06 pm

Playing down to the level of our opponent. Killed 2 drives and kept 2 drives going with dumb penalties.

That was fun to watch and on my local channel to boot.

ESPN telecast of SD-Mets is literally 40 seconds behind the radio.
    How is that possible?

  12. djloo27 said, on October 9, 2022 at 4:25 pm

Mets radio voice Howie Rose said just said that the Mets playing in NY on John Lennon’s birthday might be a good omen.
Pretty sure Lennon was murdered here 42 years ago.
Maybe he’d like Mark David Chapman to throw out the first ball…

Funny, a buddy of mine was at the Carolina game and it was a good 30 seconds ahead of the broadcast. Just fucking sucks how many injuries we took today.

That the fucking cheap-ass owners don’t put grass in the fucking outdoor fields is ludicrous.

Moseley especially when the game was pretty much decided. Don’t know anything about Bosa either.

Niners win but offense sucked at the beginning. So annoying Shanny insists on a balance run / pass game when all the weapons are receivers! Injuries striking them down again:(

Grisham is just killing the Mets…

    • willedav said, on October 9, 2022 at 6:41 pm

      yeah, good OF too.
Bottom of order Kim Grisham Nola 4 hits 2 runs scored 3 rbis.

      • willedav said, on October 9, 2022 at 6:48 pm

make that 4 runs scored as Soto drives in 2 more. 3 walks for Kim 1 for Grisham.

So much for the Mets. And the Pads have been laying down like dogs for the Dogs. So round 2 looks safe for LA.

    • Macdog said, on October 9, 2022 at 7:11 pm

Yeah, Dogs get to bitch-slap the Pads yet again. Advance directly to the NLCS.

  18. mrsprtdude said, on October 9, 2022 at 7:10 pm

    FUCK!!!!
Can’t believe the Mets chunked this series. Mets starters 12 ERs in 14 IP. WTF?
Now the last weeks of the Flap we will have to root for the Padres. I can’t stand the Padres.
Is it better to have 2 teams who are WS champs and winners in our division or better to have to Juggernaut Dodgers just win and disappoint SD? SHIT!!!
I can’t watch any NL games now and that sucks! I could give a shit about the AL Go Yankees? Go Astros?
Only team left for I can root for is Seattle! Hate Atl from 93 and the damn chop. Philly? YES!
So here’s to Philly mariners WS!

    • djloo27 said, on October 9, 2022 at 7:22 pm

      You can root for Dusty…

  20. willedav said, on October 9, 2022 at 7:44 pm

Pads fans will get home game after all.

  21. djloo27 said, on October 9, 2022 at 9:06 pm

Postgame Nimmo sounds like he’s out the door.
Constantly referred to the organization as they, not we.
Of course, the owner’s bottomless pockets can change that…

  22. unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2022 at 9:22 pm

    Come on down.

  23. djloo27 said, on October 9, 2022 at 10:11 pm

Incredibly the Met game was not a sell out…

  24. djloo27 said, on October 9, 2022 at 10:29 pm

A fair amount of Padre fans in the stands.
I have never met or even seen a Padre fan in NY.
No doubt they flew in for the series and stayed at nice hotels.
I doubt they rode the 7 train home alone with 1,500 angry drunk Met fans as I did after the 2016 WC game.
    I wish a muthafucka woulda tried me…
