A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

He Accidently Put His Team To Sleep

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 17, 2022

Yo, if you’re gonna rock the baby all the way around the bases you better win or have won the damn game. I enjoyed that as much as anyone but now that it’s a loss Naylor looks like a chump and Cole looks like a hero. Can you imagine if someone did that to Bumgarner? He would have murdered him before he got to 3rd base.

Not much to say about the Niners except “yuck”.

Dubs season starts tomorrow. Oh my god, it would be incredible if Draymond did it again, right? Just laid Poole out right there on the floor in front of the entire Golden State crowd? I’m not condoning what he did it was terrible and he should have been suspended. But my sick mind goes to “dudes, what if he did it again? How epic would that be?” It would be the MOMENT of all MOMENTS.

Kerr and co got lot of heat for supposedly being more concerned about leak than anything, but the vid being leaked is big, and very wrong. NO media were allowed at practice, where team coaches and players had their privacy breached in a serious violation of security. They are there for individual workouts, scrimmages, offense/defense sets, et al. NO pro sports team (or college for that matter) would tolerate someone spreading what happens there out to world with video evidence, ever.

Wandy Peralta with save as Yanks stay alive.
What did they know about this guy when they traded Tauchman away for him?

    • Flavor said, on October 17, 2022 at 7:41 am

I think they knew that Tauchman sucked and they needed a little relief help.

      • willedav said, on October 17, 2022 at 8:11 am

mm true and Peralta doing much better as Yank than with SF. Unfortunate Giants lefty relievers fell apart–Mc Gee, Garcia, Long, Alvarez. Maybe A Young will be OK. The Zap guy they got from Mets doesn’t look too good either.

Shanahan’s awful play calling that whole last drive especially with time running and you need not just two scores but two tds and there has to be a sense of urgency and they call for a run on 3rd and 1. Ugh.

    • Flavor said, on October 17, 2022 at 9:28 am

his argument was “we had two drives left, we had to score on both of them” but that fails to appreciate how more time might have affected the 2nd drive. He’s an idiot. And he says *stuff* all the time. Nothing confirms your label of idiot more than if you say *stuff* all the time. Listen to him next time he talks, you’ll see what I mean

It’s how Kapler got by the end of the season. Just a bunch of words justifying nothing but his poor decision-making. But Shamahan has been doing if for years.

At what point do the 49er evaluate their conditioning staff? Year in and year out they are the most injured team in the league. Javon Kinlaw, yet another 1st round pick who looks to be forever injured, is injured. The guy he replaced is a stalwart on defense, and our resident super-genius Kyle Shanahan didn’t even bother to talk to him before shipping him off to Indiana.

Field grass, or whatever they call that shit, really needs to be addressed by the league. By the end of yesterday’s game, and countless others across the NFL landscape, saw guys cramping up left and right, and every other play saw an injury.

These guys are worth billions, but can’t water a fucking field? New Jersey? Outdoors and fucking fake turf. Carolina? Same thing. Sofi? Yep.

Utter bullshit. AZ and Vegas have grass fields in their domes. It can be done. The injury rate is pretty obvious.

    https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field

    The gist of it is:

The data supports the anecdotes you’ll hear from me and other players: artificial turf is significantly harder on the body than grass. Based on NFL injury data collected from 2012 to 2018, not only was the contact injury rate for lower extremities higher during practices and games held on artificial turf, NFL players consistently experienced a much higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries on turf compared to natural surfaces. Specifically, players have a 28% higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries when playing on artificial turf. Of those non-contact injuries, players have a 32% higher rate of non-contact knee injuries on turf and a staggering 69% higher rate of non-contact foot/ankle injuries on turf compared to grass.

Duh. Let’s not protect our players with a better playing surface.

Lol yeah such a cool gun device!
Love the comment “In all the excitement not sure if I fired 5 quarters or 6?
    Do you feel lucky punk?

The craziness of the dysfunctional Carolina Panthers football team continues, in his first game as interim coach Steve Wilks and another coach had WR Robbie Anderson yelling in their faces on the sidelines before the coach said get off the field! Anderson was traded to Arizona Cardinals right after the game for future draft picks ( lucky to get a deal cause they probably would of just cut him) as Cardinals need extra WR help after losing Hollywood Brown yesterday with ligament damage to his ankle and might be done for the season..

I’m not into Houston winning the World Series. If they win it, they’ll try to say it somehow redeems 2017, which it won’t redeem. That’s like saying: “I earned a bunch of money; that makes up for the time I stole a bunch of money.” Uh no, it doesn’t work that way.

There is no unwritten rules in baseball anymore unfortunately anything goes now..
Naylor looked like a Buffon a wise ass freaking punk calling the baby” cradling my son?” Really what a doofus.

If he did that gesture to Bob Gibson he would of had a baseball go in and out of his ear in his next AB.. And they lost the game, it will just motivate the Yanks more in gm5 to put the baby to sleep for the offseason..

    Fuck Bob Gibson.
    This was completely uncalled for…

July 7, 1963 – Jim Ray Hart makes his ML debut at Candlestick Park as the Giants take on the Cardinals in a double-header.

Hart recalls what happened the first time he faced Gibson:

“Between games, (Willie) Mays came over to me and said, ‘Now, in the second game, you’re going up against Bob Gibson.’ I only half-listened to what he was saying, figuring it didn’t make much difference. So I walked up to the plate the first time and started digging a little hole with my back foot…No sooner did I start digging that hole than I hear Willie screaming from the dugout: ‘Noooooo!’ Well, the first pitch came inside. No harm done, though. So I dug in again. The next thing I knew, there was a loud crack and my left shoulder was broken. I should have listened to Willie.”

Hart would miss the rest of the season with a broken shoulder.

    • Flavor said, on October 17, 2022 at 3:34 pm

he didn’t want him digging in? What’s wrong with that?

      • djloo27 said, on October 17, 2022 at 3:43 pm

        Old school bullshit…

      • willedav said, on October 17, 2022 at 4:18 pm

Happened to Mays when he was kid playing against grown men in Negro Leagues.

    • Winder said, on October 17, 2022 at 6:44 pm

Gibson always decked Mays. And Mays had that back foot action when he first settled in at the plate. Gibson was just flat-out dangerous.

Every site I have seen, says that Gibson threw 92-96 MPH. This site says he threw even harder. Koufax was even better . . . Back then Gibson pitched more complete games (255) in his 17-year career with the Cardinals than he had wins (251). Do the math . . . that’s 15 per season. No idea who the top pitcher in complete games is this year, but I would be shocked if it is more than 2 or 3 . . . if that.

    • Macdog said, on October 17, 2022 at 9:16 pm

It’s Marlins’ Sandy Alcantara with 6. Next was Astros’ Framber Valdez with 3. Tied for 3rd are Red Sox’s Nathan Eovaldi and Phillies’ Aaron Nola with 2. That’s it for the pitchers with multiple complete games this season.

About what I expected. Thank you Mac for the research.

Just saw story on Yahoo with couple letters to editor of LA Times, complaining about the anti immigrant ads that ran on Fox Sports 1 channel that broadcast Dodgers games over the weekend.
I saw these, typical disgusting Faux News anti Biden BS decrying him for letting in illegals across the border, describing them as criminals responsible for havoc in America at taxpayers expense. Glad someone brought this to attention of MLB and the Dodgers/Padres.

I’ll take Cronkite or Huntley/Brinkley over any of these clown outlets.
      They reported the fuckin news.
      No agendas…

      • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on October 17, 2022 at 6:06 pm

Yeah, pretty much grew up with Huntley/Brinkley in the house and their thematic Beethoven music, Cronkite too. It’s probably the main thing I lament about American society today: the disappearance of respect for facts and knowledge.
