A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Dynamic Move

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 21, 2022

I am SO STOKED about this CMC news. Went to bed early, woke to it. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Look, they just picked up the most dangerous overall RB in the league. And I clearly don’t understand anything about draft capital cause people are sweating a 3rd, 4th, and 5th? Are you kidding me? We just blew three first round picks on what is likely to be a bust. CMC is a proven special player.
Kyle must be creaming in his jeans right now. First of all, this gets Deebo out of the backfield, a completely played out idea. You can put CMC in the wildcat. Put him in the slot. Keep him in the backfield. The possibilities are ENDLESS.

He’s healthy. Kyle’s has no excuses.

Let’s roll.

And I hope Farhan is paying attention. Be bold, motherfucker!!!!!

  2. Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:46 am

There is a reason the Panthers dumped him. The NFL rule is always what have you done for us lately. With CMC it’s pretty much nothing. I think he’s only played in like 10 games the last couple of years and the Niners also gave up a 2nd rd pick. Loved him when he came out of Stanford but he’s not the same player now.

    • Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:50 am

We also gave up Price who I believe will be the Panthers starting RB next year. Price is a true gamer and a hard-nosed player who is just learning the ropes.

    • willedav said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:51 am

they have turf back there don’t they? Hopefully he can thrive here at Levi’s and stay healthy. Think main reason they dumped him more due to $$ and fact they’re going nowhere anyway and need as many picks as possible. He’s played in 6 games this season/85 carries.

  3. blade3colorado said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:48 am

Unca and Winder . . . from last thread: I am removing 8 trees due to pine beetle (drought) damage. Three estimates, with the highest $15k . . . Lowest and was the most recommended, will cost me $7500.00. Four neighbors are removing trees too.

Coupled with the AC I added to the house ($6k), this has been a very, very expensive month for home ownership.

    • Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:53 am

Wow. That is an unforeseen problem but I guess you have to for fire damage/tree rot that might make em fall. The AC will payoff in the long run I love mine.

      • blade3colorado said, on October 21, 2022 at 9:01 am

Yeah, the catalyst was the heat wave last month. First time in 2.5 years that I have been up here, that 100 plus degrees was reached. Love the AC. Again, you have to get multiple bids, as there are so many scammers out there. Moreover, you need to research exactly what you need. My home as an example – it’s 1848 sq. feet and ONLY requires a 3.5 ton condenser. I shit you not, that one bid indicated I needed a 5 ton condenser. lol . . . Coupled with the aforementioned, although not as prevalent this year – due to PG&E finally getting off their collective asses and doing tree branch mitigation and burying overhead lines – we have a lot of outages. Again, not too bad this year. Nevertheless, this is a lot of wear and tear on your electrical circuit breakers. Consequently, I wanted a surge protector for my AC system.

I am telling you that everyone better get AC because Climate Change is not a joke. Hoping Bill Gates research company will provide a type of AC that does not harm the environment, like the current AC systems do . . . but that’s another subject.

      • Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 9:49 am

Yeah, I looked for well established local company’s and talked with some long-time construction people. I paid a little above middle ground but feel I got my money’s worth.

  4. Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:59 am

I think this trade just might be the undoing of Shanny and Lynch.

    • Flavor said, on October 21, 2022 at 9:34 am

Well, the y have no excuses now. But I am in firm disagreement with you on the health of CMC. He’s good to go right now.

      • Flavor said, on October 21, 2022 at 9:34 am

Come on, this is no OJ Simpson trade

      • Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 9:43 am

In some ways it kinda is since we don’t have a 1st -4th pick this year. At least I think that is the case. I hope the deal works but not holding my breath.

      • Flavor said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:05 am

i just meant, OJ was done when he got here. I think CMC is still at near peak of his powers and Kyle, theoretically, should be able to be super creative with him

      • Irish Kevin said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:12 am

Kyle is very sporadic with being creative on offense. That has been my complaint he is not consistent with his play calling. All you have to do is look at the Panthers game and the Falcons game.

      • djloo27 said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:33 am

Maybe more like Wendell Tyler than OJ.
He’ll have a ball on Sunday vs. helpless overrated KC…

  5. Flavor said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:12 am

WOW! Why is he doing this? Hope it’s not another LaRussa situation

  6. Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:33 am

I guess old ballplayers are like old boxers, hard to let it go. I wish Bochy all the luck except when we play em.

  7. djloo27 said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:37 am

Texas has a pretty good young 1B (Lowe), so the Astros are still a likelier destination for Belt who’s a few years younger than old man Gurriel…

  8. Macdog said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:47 am

All I care about is how this trade will affect my fantasy team.

  9. snarkk said, on October 21, 2022 at 10:53 am

Bochy must have had enough “family” time.
I guess too, that there are only so many fishing trips until it gets a little tired.
Exchanging San Diego for Dallas for 7 months per year? Ugh…

    • djloo27 said, on October 21, 2022 at 8:25 pm

I had enough family time by 1966…

  10. Macdog said, on October 21, 2022 at 11:05 am

Good luck to Bochy in Texas, he’s certainly taking on a challenge for a team that hasn’t had a winning record since 2016, their last playoff appearance. Except for the two World Series years and some good teams in the mid-late 90s that always lost to the Yankees in the playoffs, there hasn’t been much success in Arlington.

    • djloo27 said, on October 21, 2022 at 11:17 am

They’ll always be the Washington Senators to me.
      What a horrendous history…

      • Macdog said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:07 pm

They’re the expansion Senators, right? Not the original Sens that moved to Minnesota.

      • djloo27 said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:24 pm

        Right!

  11. alleykat69 said, on October 21, 2022 at 11:31 am

Lol Mac I was thinking the same thing but with some shrewd drafting and wavier wire claims i feel I have some RB’s “Stable Boys Thoroughbreds” pounding the rock!
    Breece Hall, Najee Harris,Rhamondre Stevenson,Jamal Williams,Travis Etienne &Kenneth Walker lll…

Hey I’m all in with the Trade! For one thing the Niners we’re using free draft picks they acquired anyway for losing both Saleh &McDaniel and a third pick from another coach going to Denver?under that NFL policy of getting Black coaches more opportunities for hires!Which worked out great for 49ers though losing 2 quality coaches in Saleh&McDaniel ( McDaniel half Black qualified) so getting CMC and keeping him away from Rams who for right now still stuck with useless/malcontent Cam Akers is another win. They could still acquire more picks next year if they can still get picks for Jimmy G and unfortunately losing another possibility of a young DC guru on the rise in Demeco Ryan( black hiring rule again) for a HC potential, cause the 49ers tree of talented assistant’s are working with the Jets&Dolphins on the rise so GM’s will take a hard long look at Ryan instead of a Hack like brain dead Hackett in Denver..

Let’s Roll with the Best Rated Defense in football and an upgrade more on Offense with Shanahan’s perfect zone scheme RB in CMC should be an exciting 2nd half run…

    • unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:24 pm

Jimmy G is a free agent after this year. We ain’t getting dick for him.

My “Who the hell needs all the running backs???” was meant for this reply…

  12. Flavor said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:18 pm

Loo–I love the Wendell Tyler call. He was one of my favorite Niners but I do recall him putting the ball on the ground a lot

  13. unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:20 pm

Hate it when work gets in the way of posting shit.

As I said in my blog, this is a desperation move by Shanahan. Our offensive guru, Vanilla Ice Cream (and no I won’t post THAT!) is 18th in yards, 20th in points, and 23rd in 1st downs.

    Our offense SUCKS.

Having another guy to run up the middle and catch 5 yard swing passes won’t likely erase the malaise this offense is currently mired in. Loved CMC’s game out of college. I sure hope he stays upright here. Moving off the fake grass should help. But this seems to be a move made to deflect from the shittiness of the currently constructed team.

  14. unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:28 pm

    No to Fumbell Tyler!

I kid, I kid. He was cool for his short time with the Niners.

I did LOVE getting Hacksaw and Wendell from the fucking Rams back in the day.

Shanny had no excuses coming into this season with the weapons he has. He’s spun gold into shit so far. The team ignored the O line, fucked with Lance, and are now stuck with Mr. Inconsistent, Jimmy G.

I guess we are gonna see 1970s pound the rock football for the rest of the season. You know, the antithesis of how the league is built. 12 passes a game. Woo hoo.

    • alleykat69 said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:44 pm

CMC was wasted in a dysfunctional useless Panthers team that couldn’t beat a College team right now.Dumped the shitty coach, players are fighting ( Robbie doucebag Anderson) now gone)even with the new interim coach and positions coach. They are totally on REBUILD Mode Chuck.. 49ers are still averaging 125 yard a game running with this far superior OL then the Panthers have ever had and will only go up more when LT Trent Williams returns along with RB Elijah Mitchell who yes I think will still play a big role.CMC &Mitchell the new Chubb/Hunt potential..

  15. alleykat69 said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:29 pm

Blade, I wanted to get back to you on your A/C unit but I forgot. Yeah when I was up in Reno for Labor Day I brought the Heat with me so said my sister, everyday was like 103-105 but thankfully her A/C worked like a charm. Yes very smart of you getting multiple quotes ( but I figured that’s how you would of rolled) lots of scammers out there so the most info u collected on your own neighbors, friends in the business the best way to go!
So what brand did u end up going with?My sister’s brand is a Rheem sitting on the side of the house and cranks well for a 2 story house (2,200 sq ft) even if its over 20 years old.

    • unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:37 pm

Crazy, Blade. I think EVERY house built in the Bay Area before 1985 had to be retro-fitted with AC. When I was a kid in San Mateo, no one had it. No one needed it. Now you need AC at 6,500 feet! Fucking unreal. The good news is you’ll have beach front property in a few years!

Yeah, 5-ton is a little overkill. We have 1,650 sq ft and our 3.5 ton (25 years young?) heat pump is fine. Down here we are much more worried about the heat than the cold!!!

      • blade3colorado said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:52 pm

“The good news is you’ll have beach front property in a few years!”

They said this back in the 1960s too and they were right . . . except, they cited earthquakes as the cause. Wrong. It will be the Artic and Antarctic icecaps melting due to climate change.

    • blade3colorado said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:46 pm

You just reminded me AK – I have a Rheem furnace and although not absolutely necessary, I “married” a Rheem condenser to the furnace. The contractor I went with indicated that it’s advantageous to go that way. He also really did a good job inspecting my existing Rheem furnace, e.g., taking off the panels, crawling under the house inspecting the existing ductwork, etc. Yeah, long timers in Pollock Pines say it NEVER GOT TO 100 DEGREES prior to this year, especially multiple times as it did last month. Unca is spot on too – there were almost zero homes in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s with AC in the bay area. Now, all of them have it. I can’t recall my mom’s 1958 home ever needing AC when I grew up.

      • Winder said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:19 pm

We never had it when I was a kid either. When it got hot we opened all the windows and delt with it. But then you could hear a sonic boom a couple/few times a week also. Is it just me or does pork and beef still taste like it used to. To me it’s not even close.

  16. unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:30 pm

Shanny needs to hire a fucking offensive coordinator. His game management sucks waffles.

  17. Giant Head said, on October 21, 2022 at 12:55 pm

Great remark re Farhan. Niners going for it and that is why we watch. Gives a complete extra weapon to take away some of the Jimmy G do or dieness that rides with nfl QBs.

  18. Giant Head said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:03 pm

When Bochy “retired” I think I said on the Flap that I would not be surprised if he unretired. The Rangers ain’t going to help him in that won-loss record and IMO I think that under .500 managerial record grates on him.

  19. Giant Head said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:04 pm

Who the hell needs all those running backs???

  20. Giant Head said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:11 pm

    • blade3colorado said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:28 pm

Ya think? Between 1947 and 2014, six islands of the Solomon Islands disappeared due to sea level rise, while another six shrunk by between 20 and 62 per cent. Nuatambu Island was the most populated of these with 25 families living on it; 11 houses washed into the sea by 2011. Another island in the Hawaii chain disappeared too (forgot the name).

      These 13 will be gone in 80 years . . . https://www.rd.com/list/islands-will-disappear-80-years/

    • unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:31 pm

      More like 200-300 months.

  21. Giant Head said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:37 pm

Too bad we won’t be on the Flap in 80 years to see who is right. But I am in agreement in a warming planet. I saw this graph this week that China emits more carbon than get this the entire Western Hemisphere…something tells me they are not about to stop. Hopefully their tyrant who is about to get his next five year unprecedented term does not decide to invade Taiwan…that will certainly trigger a major regional war…praying he has more common sense than that.

  22. willedav said, on October 21, 2022 at 1:44 pm

Marcus Spears on ESPN this morning said any NFC team facing KC or Buffalo in SB (key word) would need to score points. I’m sure Lynch feels SF can get there.
Zaidi on other hand isn’t going to try and FA his way to WS with Giants 2023. Couple incremental moves to help 1b/OF/rotation/pen and see how far along prospects are for 2024.
He’s not gambling with big $$ moves, like going for it on 4th and 2 from his own territory–he’ll punt 2023 and play field position long game.

  23. willedav said, on October 21, 2022 at 3:09 pm

One of the biggest indicators of climate change in the Calif. Central Valley is there is so much less fog in the winter than there used to be. Now, I actually like less fog, but….it ain’t a good sign.

    • zumiee said, on October 21, 2022 at 4:47 pm

And, of course, the heat in the summer is now literally off the charts. The charts had to be enlarged.

  26. unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 5:33 pm

    Couple things that might help:

    – McCaffrey plays home games on grass now
    – He won’t be 50% of the offense like he was in Carolina
    – Deebo is now relieved of RB duties
    – He didn’t go to the Rams

  27. unca_chuck said, on October 21, 2022 at 5:54 pm

I guess I want SD to win? For San Dawg? Not a big Machado fan, but I really dislike Harper Valley PITA.

  28. willedav said, on October 22, 2022 at 7:08 am

warriors just dug themselves too big a hole in first half, down by 18. Kept coming back but Denver fought them off, without Jamal Murray. Triple double for big guy Jokic (who didn’t shoot much but found others for good looks), and had help off bench from Bones Hyland who torched Warriors second unit guys. Can’t give up 128 or 70 in first half and expect a W vs. good team.

  29. willedav said, on October 22, 2022 at 8:06 am

btw those 80s Denver teams coached by Doug Moe were really fun to watch. Fluid pass first offense predicated on ball and player movement, antithesis of what so many teams run today. Cool skyline logo unis too.

  30. mrsprtdude said, on October 22, 2022 at 8:56 am

Only one game but with lousy defense Poole must be good on offense. He took only 5 shots and made 2. By comparison he took 1 less shot than Draymond in the exact same number of minutes. A horrible -20 +/- in 27 minutes.

  31. mrsprtdude said, on October 22, 2022 at 8:58 am

If Bochy missed managing (and why not?) then pick a better spot. He sounded like ARod back in the day.. “I am excited to be part of a team committed to putting a winning team on the field”..I think he’s had too much wine! White Sox need a manager too. A much better team with a better chance to win in a 3 year contract…

  32. willedav said, on October 22, 2022 at 3:52 pm

Gotta admit it’s fun to see Yahoo stories from LA Times disgruntled Dogs beat writers and today letters to editor responses from fans.

Alan Stern: ” Dave Roberts should have been left off Dodgers playoff roster.”

i was in the camp that didn’t think Boch was coming back. My mindset is, if you don’t HAVE to work why would you? Life’s too short. But there’s obviously things about the game that are pulling him back in. This is not the right situation for him, though. Bochy managing a team with terrible pitching? This could get ugly fast

  35. Flavor said, on October 22, 2022 at 5:35 pm

Ahhhhh. I’m once again completely baffled as to what the fuck is going on with the 49ers.

We are getting Williams, Bosa, Ward, McGlinchey, and Ebukam back. And we now have CMC. But, we go as far as Jimmy Garfumbalo takes us. Picks and turnovers, we lose.

Even if we play a clean game we still have to score a lot. KC’s defense is shakey so the Niners need to take advantage

      • unca_chuck said, on October 22, 2022 at 9:56 pm

My biggest issue with the team is, the 2 most important guys, Jimmy and Kyle, have a terrible record in big games.

Not that tomorrow’s is necessarily big, but whenever I think they will stink the joint up, they win. Whenever I think they are gonna cruise, they trip over their dicks.
