Twitter users OK with Elon Musk taking it private? NYT had interesting column on it today, someone saying he’d run it like private dictatorship. Also possibly might eventually take it back public, as he is beholden to banks who lent him billions.
I now have a shot of being unbanned (lol). Dollars to donuts, his 2nd act as being CEO (1st act was firing the previous CEO) will be bringing Trump back. Arrrggghhh . . .
Agree with Mac, Unc, etc. I despise Longo . . . GET RID OF HIM. Obviously, not the same thing, but when I was practically on my “last legs” playing organized softball, where leg injuries (cramps, pulls) prevented me from playing 2nd base or shortstop, I was usually moved to 1st base or 3rd base and was fine the rest of the season. Longo gets a hang nail and you don’t see him for months. Just my take, but one of the worst contracts the Giants have had.
this guy was a ROCK of stability with TB. He comes to SF and here are his games played: 125, 129, 53, 81, 89. Talk about BAD LUCK the Giants got that with this guy
IMO older players are no bueno in general and especially for SF, they’re at higher risk for muscle pulls/tears due to the cold weather. Longo had those and other injuries, including plantar fascitis off and on. He ran into Craw in what looked like a minor bump if you were in football and he got sidelined 3 months, basically the rest of the season was ditched due to whatever that shoulder joint injury was. Dude is like Murano glass. Expensive, fragile.
Cut him loose, move on…
Get rid of all the old guys. Start rebuilding with youth. Unless Z truly thinks a few FA’s would turn the corner it just makes sense to infuse the team with youth. IMO
Agreed, and hopefully by sometime next year and on into 2024 some of the top prospects will be up. As is, I think Unc said this, FAs like Turner Nimmo Bell will all be 30 next year; Correa one year younger. Yaz will be 33 next August and Giants have to hope he doesn’t get much worse. Slater will be 30 this December.
My guess is that Zaidi would only resign Longoria if he agreed to be a role guy, a mentor to Villar and added a first baseman mitt to his collection. If they also picked up a SS that would leave SF with Florez, Longo and Craw as the infield bench or DHing. I’m not advocating that, but I could see that happening based on a known commodity and price wise.
I just don’t see the Giants going all youth or doing a full on rebuild. I believe they will be in a win now mode and we will see some FAs signings and probably some of those kids we have been waiting to see will be parts of trades.
I fucking HATE that they don’t just roll into the World Series after the playoffs. late season and all, and they still pull this shit.

Phils have some LH bombers too. hmmnn could history repeat itself? Pablo was only other guy to hit 3 in one game beside Ruth Pujols and Reggie.
Pablo obviously the only one of the 4 not in the 500 HR club which had a total of 4 members when I started following baseball. There are 28 now!

Said all along that if Molina was lock for HOF, Posey should be in too, without trying to play extra years when Molina flat out sucked. Posey’s bad years weren’t near as bad as Molina’s were, and his good years were also far better than anything Molina did.
In MLBTR column about Wainwright coming back next year, Cards fans mentioned him playing with HOF this past year Pujols and Molina. Someone responded Wainwright was more like Hall of the Very Good.
Can’t get down with either player being in the HOF, until Munson is in too and before these 2 guys . . . They need to reconcile that screw-up first. I think Loo has said this too a number of times.
