Funny, when I use wordpress to get to the blog (not Oneflapdpown) this gem popped up. I think this was after the first flapalooza. Which I sadly did not attend.
Ha, thanks Unc that was pretty funny. Reliving the Prez, lol. Flavor was on fire.
First and Main was cool place. I went there couple other times too just to knock down a cold one and have lunch. Great to meet everyone for first time, good time had by all.
i wonder what happened to Ewisco? He was super involved in the blog and then just disappeared. Lots of guys disappeared. That’s wild to me, once I start something I can’t really stop doing it until I just make a clean break
According to Shea, Giants people met with bunch of agents at GM meetings including Boras who reps Bogaerts Correa Rodon and Nimmo. Also Z said Crawford should be opening day SS, so if SF went after one of FAs that would mean they would have to play somewhere else. hmmnn
Shea quote was “…agents suggesting their clients would be willing to ‘move around positionally’ to accomodate an incumbent and align with the Giants roster management.”
Z on Craw being opening day SS: “yes, absolutely, right now.”
We’re going 0 for 4 on those guys.
Nimmo’s FA timing couldn’t be better.
Gonna get way over paid.
Rodon also gonna score big time.
No need for Giants to pay big bucks for a middle IF…
Yeah. Judge neither. Nimmo will get $20-25 mil per in this market. Rizzo will get QA and look for better deal if Yanks don’t sign him back–why come to Oracle as way to pump stats?
I think Shea and others setting Giants fans up for let down.
A little bit like when Torii Hunter, Andruw Jones, and Gamer were all free agents at the same time. Gamer got a lot more money than he should have, and Jones was a complete washout for the Dogs.
A rising tide lifts all boats. I’ve been hoping for Nimmo for a while, as I th0ught he wouldn’t be too costly, but don’t know what his money will be.
Just to appease the fan base for now for the holidays so they don’t choke on their turkeys bitchin about being non tendered, neither Rodon are Joc is coming back..

Understandable that “confidence is not high” about G’s signing any of the top FAs, for various reasons (including that many here seem to think these FAs would not be worth the money it would take). But honestly, I don’t see how they can’t sign one or two of the top FAs. Or, to phrase it in the positive, they must sign one or two of the top FAs. Not dumpster signings, top level. Very unlikely Z can put together a contending team without some major new blood, and I think he knows it. Therefore, I believe there will be at least 2 major signings, maybe even 3. I’ll be disappointed if there aren’t. Guess we’ll see.
Good Baggs article in the Athletic yesterday that plays off of Z’s open acknowledgment that the politics of individual players is a factor in where FAs choose to sign. Sorry, Loo. The reader commentary is better than usual, too.
That is so true a person’s belief system(politics) are a real driving force. When the 49ers drafted Bosa he was unsure on how he would fit in with a SF team and spoke about it quite a few times. Thank God he loves the place now.
You think Joc is gonna get a big deal? I don’t. $19 mill for a platooner is a little steep. Regardless of the Nimmos out there, Joc will be lucky to get an offer. We’ll get a pick tho so what the hey.
Managers get fired for all kinds of reasons. Whether or not it’s rational depends on how much you value manager in today’s analytic driven game where many decisions come from above. Dogs fans are livid with Roberts, who runs a team that routinely wins the División/fails in playoffs, not just once.
How much of that is on him, in both cases? What about Phils, who ousted Girardi and took off?
Yanks, who went into long slide after record start only to get ousted by Dusty and Stros? For that matter, Dusty himself?
I posted the link to the Kapler story because, unlike Roberts, he thinks just like the FO. He doesn’t just follow orders. There will never be an actual baseball related reason to replace him.
Woman I knew from work once went to gwar concert where she got hit by some fake blood that was blue. Funny enough, now married with kids and living down coast from Santa Cruz.
iirc gwar was beavis/butthead fav.
Man I saw Gallagher at the famous Circle Star Theater in San Carlos back in the early 80’s his crazy act was just so much fun.I was right up front with friends, covered in plastic I felt liked a used condom but you needed all the protection you could muster up! He had that giant wooden sledgehammer he famously called the Sledge-omatic and he would just make some jokes and then pummel you with every kind of fruit / vegetables but it was the big ass watermelons 🍉 that really nailed you! Real bummer hearing about his death RIP Gallagher your act nobody could duplicate..
Oh it was all about partying Loo!
Doing Cocaine,Weed,Alcohol, hmm some of Chuck’s shrooms 🍄 would of been perfect, and seeing a crazy ass Gallagher perform his sock it to me act was worth the slime.I was covered up pretty good, Pancho even a ball hat And sunglasses 😎 Unabomber before him, but I think my tennis shoes were throwaways after the show.. Price was cheap back then,so it was worth it
Pretty cool setup for a Veterans Day Special, Their calling it “The Armed Forces Classic”

Maybe before the Flap goes, Craig could repost one last time that video of him, what, dancing? down the street after the Giants won it all in 2010. That was always one of my favorites….
OK team little Milan HS (basis for movie) played (and beat) in 1954 semis was Crispus Attucks, where Oscar Robertson went to HS and who won Indiana State HS title next 2 years. Dick Barnett’s HS, Roosevelt of Gary ID lost to them in one of the finals.
Winston Garland, who also went to Roosevelt, and played few years for Warriors, is father of Cavs starting guard Darius Garland #10 on floor for Cavs tonight.
Dick Barnett (2 time NBA champ with Knicks) was one of my early NBA heroes with that beautiful J. Had the “Fall back” call after shooting in college at Tennessee State, where he won small college titles under HBCU legendary coach John McLendon.
Warriors now lose a 4 point play on a non-called continuation play when Poole gets clotheslined, and Dray gets a delay of game for tapping the ball back to the ref. Unfucking real.
Damn. Only about 12 bad calls by the refs in that game. Mitchell twists his ankle and falls down. Ref calls a foul. Replay shows no contact. Foul is upheld. Cavs got at least 15 gift FTs.
I could never coach in the NBA. I’d get thrown out every goddamn game.
Both gambling measures got trounced in state.
DK and FD sure to come up with more.
Ca is so stupid. I hate this state sometimes.

Going to the end of the line.
What is the meaning of “eom”?

Anybody else sick of Wordle?
Im down to about 1 a week.
not really. I play so many of my friends every morning it’s fun to text them and see how we do against each other.
Best game ever…

MLBTR says at 4 PM central time FAs will be free to sign plus that will be deadline for QOs.

That sounds about right. At least the top 3 on the list do.
Giants gave QO to Rodon and…Joc. Z must really want him around, maybe for 2 yr deal with big front end of $19.6 mil.
Just to appease the fan base for now for the holidays so they don’t choke on their turkeys bitchin about being non tendered, neither Rodon are Joc is coming back..

2 years/$24-5 balances out the AAV. No team in baseball would pay him $19 mil per to be a platoon DH.
Good start to the off-season: Loo doesn’t have to pack up and move to LA. Longo finally Long Gone.
Technically and hopefully, anyway. G’s could still sign him as a FA.
Well, not yet. One year deal for less than $13 mil could still happen. And they do owe him $5 anyway.
$5 mil that is.
Yes, as I noted above…
Yeah sorry, I didn’t see that Paul. Been lot of chatter about Longo being open to taking reduced $ deal for year.

When they fire Kapler eventually for no particularly rational reason, they’ll just find another one like him.
I still wonder if he alienated anyone with his protest…
I don’t even remember what that was all about…

Thanks, I remember now…

I think I was pushing for Bochy to get fired and replaced by Willie Randolph sometime prior to 2010…
I was pushing for Bochy to get fired at that time also. Every time they showed him in the dugout it looked like he was half asleep.
I posted the link to the Kapler story because, unlike Roberts, he thinks just like the FO. He doesn’t just follow orders. There will never be an actual baseball related reason to replace him.
Gallagher the comedian dead at 76.
Watermelons everywhere are rejoicing…

Gwar was a fun show. A friend of mine moved to Richmond Va to do their costumes, now she is down in LA doing costumes for Lucha Vavoom.
Is Lucha Vavoom a stripper?

Why would anyone subject themselves to that?
And pay for it?
I never got that…

Tell it to the Ukrainians…
Beginning to wonder if “eom” really means “eof”…..
This last thread will go until we all hit the great Flapalooza in the sky.
Who needs words?
Maybe before the Flap goes, Craig could repost one last time that video of him, what, dancing? down the street after the Giants won it all in 2010. That was always one of my favorites….
Just go to the monthylky
list of posts and you can. find it.
Just watched Hoosiers for the first time when it popped up on HBO.
Great stuff. Hackman’s a great actor.

thanks Loo yaha. NBA was so much fun to watch in those days.
Vaguely remember him and his bunny hop jumper.
There was nothing like it.
And he guarded Monroe way more often than Clyde did prior to the most baffling trade in the history of the world…
Who needs words indeed, Loo. Clare Torry’s vocals on The Great Gig are one of a kind, and one of the most amazing vocalizations ever….
I think it was Zumiee who not too long ago posted the unlikely story of how that recording went down. Easy enough to look up…
Yes, have heard the stories. Would’ve been fun to be in the studio when they laid it down….
This Warrior game is ridiculous. The Cavs have been given about 10 gift free throws.
And now the flagrant, the 3 and possession.
The Warriors have become inept at closing games.
Warriors now lose a 4 point play on a non-called continuation play when Poole gets clotheslined, and Dray gets a delay of game for tapping the ball back to the ref. Unfucking real.
