To paraphrase Chuck, the rising tide of Steph Curry lifts all Warriors. Coming around to idea I’ve resisted that Poole needs to start and Klay needs to come off bench. Poole had few funky games but shot his way out of it very efficiently last night and gave bench a big lift. Klay’s body just won’t let him do that anymore and mistakes at both ends are piling up.

    • Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 7:40 am

Barkley got some shit for calling Klay *not the same player* but I don’t see why that was controversial. Shit he’s a lot older now with 2 major injuries behind him. Klay isn’t the same player and who would expect him to be?

      • unca_chuck said, on November 12, 2022 at 8:10 am

He’s really struggling right now. His defense is OK but not what it was, and he’s bricking shit all day. He’s just got to work through whatever he’s going through. The deal with Booker was just strange. Booker made him lose his shit.

      • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 8:15 am

Exactly Flav. Klay isn’t gonna “find it” or “get it back”– it’s done left the building of his body. Poole imo would be more efficient with starters and not having ball in his hands as much-he can just shoot or drive. Kerr can find ways to set up Klay for shots as #1 option in second unit, getting screens from bigger guys like they used to do with David West etc. And he could hopefully help the younger group play smarter.

      • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 8:26 am

Unc day after that happened I messed with 2 big warriors fans who work at Asian hair salon when I went into get what hair I have left trimmed. One of them is big Klay fan so I walked over to her with game face scowl and put my forehead right up against hers. Her gf started laughing, and then woman I messed with began pointing to her hand with 4 fingers out. Her friend said, “Klay Thompson crazy” and we were all laughing. I asked her, “what’s wrong with your boy?”

        OMG, that’s hysterical!! Too funny!

  2. willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 7:05 am

By Tuesday QO guys will have to be in or out. Friday is deadline for non tenders I believe. Could be more bargains out there in Brebbia aisle for Z’s shopping list.
As for him and Kap, caveat of “right now”, they are on very short list of acceptable ex Dodgers.

  3. unca_chuck said, on November 12, 2022 at 8:07 am

I don’t see how Joc turns down $19 mill. If he gets a 3 year deal it’ll be what? $24 mill?

    • djloo27 said, on November 12, 2022 at 8:43 am

      Agree he’d be nuts…

  4. blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 9:03 am

No idea where these reporters get their information. This article came out a few hours ago and it says emphatically that the Giants are all in on Judge. If that’s true, it’s not the Yankees that are “screwed” . . . my take is that WE are screwed for the rest of this decade. Totally not Z’s MO to do this type of shit. God forbid if we do.

    https://www.nj.com/yankees/2022/11/yankees-are-screwed-without-aaron-judge-insider-says-and-giants-are-all-in-on-this-man.html

Praying that Z does this or similar: Giants opt to pursue multiple players from the second tier of the 2022-’23 free-agent class. Contreras, Bogaerts, Benintendi, Nimmo, Bassitt, etc., should be on the radar, NOT FUCKING JUDGE.

Similarly, Z must have been: A. Drunk; B. Taken magic mushrooms; or C. Been in a coma/fugue like condition, when he offered Joc $19 million qualifying offer. Worst outfielder by most metrics and MIA in hitting bombs for weeks last season (or was it months?).

    • James said, on November 12, 2022 at 9:50 am

The Baggarsly article about the lack of star power and the popular thinking it represents, in tandem with the constant dumpster diving criticism certainly give Zaidi the excuse to be less than rational on the FA front.

Pujols is often cited as the cautionary tale. But he had an OPS+ above league average the first 6 years of that contract. Certainly he wasn’t “worth it,” but he was still productive at the plate. I’d bet that Judge will be better than Pujols was the first 3-4 years.

As for Joc, the he disappeared argument doesn’t hold water. He hit the ball consistently and produced all season long, even if there was a lull in the HR output. Look at the monthly splits. I’d gladly take a repeat of Joc’s 2022 season in the context of an overall better roster.

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 10:02 am

Umm, as I indicated, my complaint is coupling his horrible outfield stats, e.g., -15 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) and -10 Outs Above Average (OAA) in perhaps, the most difficult MLB ballpark outfield to play. He was a very consistent hitter, sans the MIA in homeruns after his initial torrid hitting start. Bottom line is that we were terrible overall in team defense last season and Joc playing doesn’t help that one bit.

  5. unca_chuck said, on November 12, 2022 at 9:29 am

Josh Bell at 1st, Nimmo and Benitendi in the OF. We aren’t going after a catcher or SS. Maybe Boegarts can play 2nd base, but just those 3 guys would be a vast improvement. Then we could possibly keep Rodon if the deal isn’t too astronomical.

    • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 9:35 am

Forgot about Bell. Totally okay with him too (as I have mentioned him in previous posts).

Again, I just don’t get Z offering Joc $19.65 million??? That’s crazy. This guy can barely play outfield and his fielding trajectory the last few seasons clearly shows he’s getting worse. Couple our outfield being one of the most difficult to play, I don’t understand this offer.

      • djloo27 said, on November 12, 2022 at 9:50 am

I think there’s just a shortage of outfielders which is why so-so Nimmo is gonna score big time…

      • James said, on November 12, 2022 at 9:59 am

I assume Pederson will DH a lot more than he did last year. If he winds up playing in the OF as much as he did last year, something else has gone wrong.

Since number of folks here are twitter users, how is the Elon Musk show going so far?

    • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 10:08 am

Terrible, even though I am banned, I keep up with equities daily (pound my chest a bit – Thursday, I scored a $43 thousand day, mostly due to the election results). Anywho, Musk is not only impacting Twitter shares, but more important, Tesla shareholders, as he had to sell quite a bit of Tesla stock to purchase Twitter. Couple that with some horrendous PR Twitter posts, the “head Twit” is not doing too well the last couple of weeks.

Edit: . . . mostly due to the CPI report.

      • Winder said, on November 12, 2022 at 10:19 am

I don’t want twitter to have any of my information. Musk is a Russian sympathizer and a hard core right winger. Don’t know if that is because of political views or just that he doesn’t want to pay taxes.

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 10:24 am

Agree emphatically. By the by, you guys did pretty good overall in Oregon insofar as the election. Pollsters country wide were so off the mark.

      • Winder said, on November 12, 2022 at 10:45 am

So far so good, only missed out on one of my marks. The county I live in is very red.

      • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:00 am

Wonder if Musk’s fantasy is to pull off some Goldfinger like caper and take control of world economy…before escaping to Mars or wherever.
Maybe only someone in well equipped Aston Martin can save the world.

      • Winder said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:04 am

Lol. If I was NASA I would cut all ties with him.

    • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:05 am

Willie, one other thing – Musk is now splitting his time between six separate companies: Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity/Tesla Energy, Twitter, Neuralink and The Boring Company. All of these companies have WEAK board of directors . . . Companies led by so called geniuses need strong governance or they get pummeled (see META and FTX . . . Zuckerberg is running META into the ground pursuing the Metaverse and FTX went bankrupt due to Sam Bankman-Fried not even having a board of directors to provide oversight). By the by, crypto is the WORST INVESTMENT on planet Earth. Suckers who fell for it are idiots.

      • Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:42 am

A couple of years ago I bought Bitcoin at 18k and sold it at 35K, 45K, and 55K so I would say it was a pretty good investment lqtm

      • Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:43 am

i still own some with an investment group, btw and we obviously can’t sell it now

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 12:16 pm

You did well Flav. I should have said, similar to “musical chairs” – you best be paying attention to the music, because when the music stops, there wont be many chairs to sit in. As you pointed out, the returns potentially were astronomical, but similar to the Madoff scandal and FTX, many, many folks made huge profits . . . but if you didn’t cash out (like you did), you were left without a chair to sit in.

  7. alleykat69 said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:13 am

Get back to work Musk is telling all his employees are quit it’s time for me to recoup my $8.00 membership fees now what a joke. Twitter can stick it up they’re asses where the sun don’t shine.
I was banned too for no good reason, now they want 8 bucks to ban me again down the line?No Thanks..

    • Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:44 am

twitter is a fantastic way to synthesize real news quickly. You are misinformed, you don’t need to pay $8 a month to use twitter.

  8. James said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:56 am

A pretty good compilation, worth scrolling through:

    • Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:58 am

yes, he made a big mistake with the $8 a month for the blue check mark but again that doesn’t impact my twitter experience at all. I follow 675 different accounts. That’s not a lot and if i catch one spreading disinfo I unfollow. Having said that I do follow MTG and LaBo and other idiots like that just to keep track of what they’re trying to sell to their followers.

  9. Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 11:56 am

one thing I will say about twitter is that it’s obvious Musk is in way over his head. But I’ll be surprised if he runs it into shutting down—it’s simply too big used by too much of the world to have it disappear. The blue check mark stuff doesn’t affect me, I just follow trusted news sources, different sports figures and beat writers that i like, police departments, earthquake tweets, stuff like that. If you aren’t a bald face idiot it’s easy to find trusted sources to follow and access for information. Who still reads a newspaper?

Hey Willie . . . Are you trying to email me? I received the same message from you twice, but only answered the first one.

    • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:24 pm

      No Blade.

  12. blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:11 pm

Hey Willie . . . I am not unequivocally certain about this, but I think someone has appropriated your email address and is trying to scam me. Respond back quickly here and I will provide the details.

  13. xoot said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:24 pm

Willie, your email’s been hijacked. I rec’d a message from your account not id’ing me by name and signed “willie.” Uh, no. They wanted money.

    • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:25 pm

      F. thanks

  14. blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:29 pm

Listen carefully Willie, your email has likely been harvested and other accounts you have might be affected by this. Hackers may have obtained your email credentials through a data breach. If you use the same password for multiple accounts, then one compromised account means a hacker can access all of them. Sometimes, hackers buy passwords from the dark web, where cybercriminals sell them after successful data breaches.

This is what you need to do IMMEDIATELY . . . Change all your pass words, particularly any financial accounts. Getting this to you right now, but you need to do more besides changing your passwords.

  15. xoot said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:33 pm

the address I see is a gmail account. they have tools to use immediately, right?

    • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:42 pm

Yeah, gmail account to me as well.

    • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 3:06 pm

no I’m not on gmail. New sign in at yahoo.

      • xoot said, on November 12, 2022 at 3:45 pm

I was distracted when I noticed an email from wdblues[etc], asking for a favor. Without thinking, I replied, sure, what? Later, I received a somewhat elaborate request to buy an apple gift card for a friend of yours. Clumsy scam. They used your email handle with an @gmail address.

Maybe they have some of your address book. Maybe from a group email. Maybe not so serious. Hope none of your other friends and acquaintances ran out to buy gift cards for you.

      • Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 3:53 pm

my daughter’s mother falls for shit like this. I don’t get it man, it’s just so obvious to ignore it. She’ll fucking call em back if they request it, lol

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 4:16 pm

Willie, they have your phone number too (the 669 area code #).

  16. blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 1:41 pm

Run your antivirus program immediately. Notify everyone you know (online) about this. For password related accounts, change all your security questions. Report this to all financial or social media you belong to, e.g., Facebook.

    • willedav said, on November 12, 2022 at 5:01 pm

      Thanks.

  17. blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 4:06 pm

Same deal xoot – gift card request too. Last year, I said fuck Windows Defender anti-virus and switched to a pay security system, Bitdefender, for 5 devices, including 2 Apple devices (iPad and iphone). Equally important, I started using Opera, versus Edge and Google Chrome, as they have the only VPN available for free. It masks my movements perfectly.

    • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:09 pm

I want a t-shirt that says “It masks my movements perfectly”. Very nice iambic tetrameter…. 🙂

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:14 pm

        “. . . iambic tetrameter.”

Not one, but two words I have never used, nor heard of. Worse, they were together in one sentence. Grrr . . . Ya got me Professor.

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:16 pm

P.S. I looked up these words and I still don’t know what the fuck they mean after reading the definition.

      • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:20 pm

I guess that goes back to my days as an English Literature major. Always have loved the rhythm of language. “It MASKS my MOVE-ments PER-fect-LY”… or something like that.

      • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:26 pm

Sheesh, this gets even worse – you read the definition and it produces more words I have never heard or used before:

“Iambic tetrameter is a meter in poetry. In ancient Greek and Latin poetry, it is the name of a rhythm of four metra, each metron being of the form | x – u – |, consisting of a spondee and an iamb, or two iambs.”

        Metra? Metron? Spondee? Iamb? Huh?

  18. Flavor said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:26 pm

i own zero apple products and never will own one. I have never had a problem with getting hacked or had a security breach or anything. Just dumb luck or something else?

    • blade3colorado said, on November 12, 2022 at 6:29 pm

I have had zero issues with my 2 Apple devices. Only Android (phones I previously owned) and Windows PCs have had issues. In any event, Bitdefender is a good deal – $39 dollars annual protection for 5 devices, regardless of operating system.

  19. djloo27 said, on November 12, 2022 at 8:00 pm

I’m really starting to wonder if those 5 fuckin’ Moderna shots in the last year and a half have anything to do with the other shit going on with me since…

  20. unca_chuck said, on November 12, 2022 at 10:00 pm

Shit, Apple is about 10x better and keeping viruses out of my computers and phones. You couldn’t pay me to use a PC. All my PCs in the past (Twin’s lasted the longest) all got fucked over and clogged with worthless garbage. The cleaning process would get less and less effective till they just choked. My kids would burn through their computers 5x faster going to pirate sites to DL music, and whatever bullshit is out there.

Boot up time of a Mac is 10 seconds vs a PC of 4 minutes?

My friends that have PCs struggle to even get on Streameast without wading through 4-10 bullshit screens. 2 clicks and I’m rolling.
