Defense Day of Reckoning
Big game today. Today is the day I decide how quality this Niner D is. It’s been nice shutting down the Andy Dalton’s and Colt McCoy’s of the league but it was only a few weeks ago that the Rams and the Chiefs dropped 31 and 44 on us, respectively.
This Miami offense is legit and we have the added pain in the ass of having their coach know us inside and out.
Shut Miami down and I’ll be on board with this being an elite, special defense.

just some fyis, but Alex Cobb turned 35 in off season and is signed for 2023 at $10 mil with team option for 2024. Chris Bassitt will be 34 in Feb.
De Sclafani will be 33 in April and is owed 2 more years at $12 mil per.

I am curious about our D also. McDaniel’s knows us inside and out and probably knows what buttons to push to make us make mistakes. This game will be all about adjustments and I really don’t like our chances that much. If we can get to Tua we will have a shot.
what i am worried about is that our DB’s will play way off the speed of their 2 speedsters but Tua will just toss them quick slants and outs all day long with our Dline unable to ever touch him
Yeah, I believe they will get the ball out as quick as possible unless we are having trouble getting to him’ I also thing there will be a few planned runs just to keep us on our heels.

I know just above squat about soccer, as I’m sure is evident. But, I’ve watched some highlights of this Mbappe guy on the French squad. Dude is unreal. He was responsible for an assist and 2 awesome goals himself in the 3-1 beating of Poland today. If he doesn’t get hurt, the French look for real for the Cup. I dunno if it could happen, but France v. Argentina would be a great final. Mbappe v. Messi. They both play for Paris St. Germain – that’s like Jerry Rice and Randy Moss on the same team? Jordan and Kobe? And, I just read where Mbappe re-signed with Paris St. Germain in the French league for 3 years, for a cool 100 million Euro signing bonus, and 3 @ 50, for a total of Euro 250 million. Neymar of Brazil also is on that team — how do they split the ball between all those guys? Of course that team is owned by oil sheikdom Quatar, like some other teams are owned by middle east oil money — notably in the Premier League. Not news, but baseball and basketball have nothing on European league soccer player salaries at the top levels — the player money is just astronomical. If Judge could play soccer as well as he does baseball, he’d head for Europe…

The Kings played a feisty and intense Bulls team today and hung on for the victory.
At 13-9, the Kings are momentarily the 5th seed. Hey, it’s fun while it lasts. 🙂

Fun fact: Merle Haggard did a nice job guest-starring in an episode of Gunsmoke. He played a traveling musician arrested and falsely accused of murder.
