As BF said, Linden is not in the Bay Area. It’s in the middle of the big Central Valley, which is separated from the Bay Area by a coastal mountain range. The most famous way to get through that mountain range, to the Bay Area, is via the Altamont Pass, which is near the Altamont race track where the infamous concert was held, get this, on Dec. 6th in 1969. Today is the anniversary.
Four people died that night. A concert goer was stabbed by a Hell’s Angel. Another concert-goer stumbling through the dark of the hills fell into an aquaduct and drowned. And after the event was over, a car leaving the event, and driving way too fast, hit two people and killed them.

From a national media point of view, if Judge comes to the Giants, and the national media wants to call Linden the Bay Area, I don’t have a problem with that. It wouldn’t be accurate, but on a big map of the U.S., Linden will look close to the Bay Area.
Which raises kind of an interesting question, to me. What is the eastern border of this thing called the “Bay Area”?

Kind of a disappointing Columbo last night. The villain was the usual smug and cocky adversary for Columbo, but it was one of the easier cases for Columbo to solve. A guy murdered his rich uncle to get an inheritance, and the guy left clues all over the place. I don’t think Columbo had to break a sweat on this one.
