Ugly Loss, Beautiful Day
Here’s a pic during happier times. Before Stripling. Otherwise known as “BS”. San Dawg, me and we got a surprise visit from his nephew Joe. Joe is young and positive about everything. We could use more Joe’s in the world. He said he’s been a long time lurker but that he would post something today so let’s see if he’s positive AND a man of his word.

There’s very little to say about that game except that it will go down as the worst loss of the year (likely).
And now I sit. In the dark. Drinking my coffee. Waiting for the 3rd round of the Masters to finish up.
Happy Easter everyone.
That was a devastating loss, but I don’t blame Kap.
Stripling gave up the solo shot to Reyes leading off the 7th, but then closed out the inning. Then he got the first 2 guys in the 8th and looked like he was on a roll. Then it unraveled. Shit happens. Then we blow the bases load deal and Doval throws a 2 out wild pitch to allow the winning run to score. Absolutely brutal.
Too bad as it was such a great day leading up to that. The Giants were hitting, Manaea looked good, several members of my family were at the game, some of us took a nice ferry ride straight to the ballpark, and it was great hanging with Flav. Joe finally meeting Flav was really cool.
Today another nephew and I will hop on the road and get back to SoCal after 2 weeks of being up here for my mom. Lots to process as I transition back to my normal routine.
Dawg so sorry to hear about your mother. Condolences and hopefully you kicked Flav’s butt on the golf course. How is that Crystal Springs? I drove by it every time headed to my parents from SFO.
Which one of you had to hold the other one back from running on the field ready to assault Kapler for another massive boob job managing????
Safe travels my man. That’s quite a trek back and forth from your neck of the woods.
And unfortunately for the Flapper World, I tried to post an epic rundown of my salad days foursome with my boys and got lost in the Word Press netherworld. Suffice it to say for the cliff notes version the 17 year old and me took on the 23 year old and the bday boy 15 year old on the back nine and after choking a one hole lead (we were playing a scramble) and yours truly shanking three straight drives on 16 17 18 and going down a hole we pulled off winning 18 after my teammie came through with a solid drive on the oar 5 last hole, I crushed an approach shot with my 2 wood to about forty feet from the green with a creek running in front. I stuck a wedge that just rolled off the green by a couple of inches and then we two putt for the par while the enemy children three putt from off the green to give us a tie on the match.
I refused a putt off to avoid the potential loss…salad days indeed…
And Happy Easter Flap Town…
This idea of platooning has now infected the pitching staff. Swapping roles between starter and reliever seems like it isn’t working. Manaea got rocked in his relief appearance. Junis I get as a long reliever. But Stripling as both? I guess he just sucks. 5 HRs in 6 innings?
We have enough guys that we can get rid of him.
Go Rahm Jahm!
Crystal Springs was nice, but it was a wet day. Tough conditions to play well. I’d love to go back on a better day. For two guys who pride themselves on hitting it (mostly) pretty well with the Driver, we both had disappointing days off the tee.
I had a better day with the wedge and putter, which led to me taking a few bucks off of Flav.
Hello Flap Nation!!
Long time reader – first time poster. I’m still in disbelief I finally got to meet “the” BigFlavor! Yesterday’s game was a brutal outcome, but enjoying time with my family and watching baseball in the sunshine negates the end result. I appreciate the notion that I’m “positive about everything.” Give the G-men some time and they may surprise us. LONG LIVE THE FLAP.
– Joe
NICELY DONE NEPHEW
fantastic. A man of his word. Welcome to Flap Nation, young Joe
Hopefully with more work, as in saving Giants Ws, Doval regains sharpness he’s lacked in first few outings. Long season…good day (and good weather in Bay Area) for bounce back thrashing of Royals before Dogs come into town for 3.
i have $20 on Keopka to win it all tom get back $820 so I am definitely rooting for him today.
Sorry to read about your loss, Sandog. Take care and safe trip home.
Yeah, a day at the park with friends makes even loses like yesterday better. I am curious to see how they come out after that game.
Too bad they couldn’t hold on. Still don’t like the swapping out of starters and relievers.
I know the Giants have only played 8 games. but I am surprised that they only have 4 stolen bases so far.
They shot their load in spring training! We were running all over the place.
That’s why I’m surprised that it didn’t carry over. Maybe with Johnson and Ramos going today they can make use of those huge bases.
Sunday on the 5. Be careful out there, Dawg.
Ramos supposed to be back up today. With Sabol having to do more catching they are short an OF and face 3 LHPs in next 4 games. Haven’t heard whose spot he is taking.
Ah Slush says he’s starting today batting 8th in LF, ahead of Bryce J in CF.
Beaty was guy sent out.
Who’s gonna pitch in the blowout 9th innings now?
Mac…I’m guessing Slater when he gets back healthy will be the blowout guy. Also Craw always has wanted to get to pitch and this year will probably be his last chance, so he should get a crack once I hope..
Beaty can keep moving on to another organization I’m tired of dogpile retreads except Joc.
Has anyone mentioned that song with the chorus, “salad days, sunny sunshine, happy days will never be the same”?Boz Skaggs’ early LP–strong joyful vocal, even stronger horns–We Were Always Sweethearts. Good song for a day like today.
55 for Warriors in first quarter. Klay needed 5 3s to get to 300 for season, and got them in first 5 minutes.
Bumbling Brooks falls out of the lead.
Rambo says it’s not over till I say it is!!!
Davis stung that but Giants hitting ball on ground too often, when they’ve made contact at all (6 Ks). 2b had him played perfectly, and legally just to right of 2b.
Are Warriors still on pace for 220?
I have no idea WTF is going on out there…
Beatty gone?
Why was he here?…
Alright!!!
Wilmer.
Exciting baserunning!
EX-METS!!!
Ex Mets day, Conforto Smoked that one.
Conforto-Yeah!
that was a nice win and much needed
Ex-Giant! And it’a over!
Ex-cellent win!
Yeah Giants sure needed that one!
Didn’t want to see them getting Royal flushed for sure!💩🚽
Dodgers lost again to the D-Backs. The D-Backs made a statement to the Dodgers.
Ha- the Kings’ “reward” for finishing 3rd seed is to get the Warriors in the first round. And the Grizzlies’ “reward” for second seed is a possible series with the Lakers.
That’s gonna be such a fun series
Amazing what goes on…
