Ok, no fiddling around here. Detroit is awful. The one decent thing they had last year was their bullpen and they dismantled it. Got to be a sweep-a-roonie or I’m gonna be pissed.

    On the Old front….I see Brandon Belt is batting a sterling.161 for the Jays in 31 AB’s with ZERO Homers and only 2 walks with those eagle eyes of his.

    Old front 2…Evan Longoria is finding Arizona to his liking so far batting .333 a couple of Bombs and OPS of .1106..

    happy we locked Webb up for 5 years. Shit, Zaidi had to start composing an actual team at some point. Signing a bunch of guys to 2 year deals when they can bounce after 1 year is just stupid patchwork bullshit

    Webb signed at $18 Million per year thru 2028 strikes me as fair transaction for player and team. Despite 0-3 start to year, Webb’s overall metrics since 2021 solid. He’s not Verlander or Scherzer in their prime but hopefully consistent 1 or 2 in starting rotation for several years. Risk in that 2 years body of work not enough to demonstrate long-term durability or success. But at $18 Million/year seems good gamble.

    Glad that Webb signed also. Just looking at Webb’s stats so far and he’s in the same company as a lot of pitchers. i8 hits in 17 innings, 12 runs, his so/bb ratio is good with a 4.76 era. He’s lost to both LA and NYY, tough company. Not #1 stats but it’s still early and maybe with a new contract things might seem brighter.
