A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

The Giants Suck And This Is Gonna Be a FUN Series

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 16, 2023

What’s funny is that when we are discussing the now THREE worst losses of the season they are all to the worst teams in the league. Kansas City and Detroit can’t beat anybody. But they have no problem bending us over for the most painful of buttfuckings.

Man, that basketball game was FUN last night! Obviously I was disappointed that the Warriors lost but that game had high intensity and intrigue from start to finish. Honestly, it reminded me a lot of the Niners/Dallas NFC Championship game. The grizzled vet team at the end of their dynasty vs the young upstart kids who no one believed in. It’s fun to see their fans so elated. I remember what that felt like back in 1981…..

I also received some critical acclaim on the text line with my buddies when I simply declared “WiggOUT!” after Wiggins missed that wide open 3 near the end of the game…..

I’ve enjoyed watching the Kings all year. I even have $20 on them to win it all that I did months ago. I get it, it’s unlikely that a team with no experience can win the NBA Championship but I’ve felt all year that these guys are legit. If the Dubs can’t advance I have no problem rooting for the Kings the rest of the way……..

Yeah, hella game. GS scored 123, more than 3 other teams that won yesterday and it wasn’t enough. Conventional wisdom said with Wiggins Payton2 DiVincenzo and Kuminga plus Green and Looney they could overcome defensive road woes. Challenged Sabonis for sure, but…
solid game from Harrison Barnes all night. That full court layup after rebound where he outran Payton to coast to coast finish was great play.

Kings got 60 points in paint despite Warriors making 27 of 40 on 2s, and outrebounded them 50-41, including 17-9 edge on offensive ones.
Followed Warriors since listening on transistor radio to Bill King days but don’t care to watch them shoot 50 x 3s. Kings survived only taking 32, and got up 8 more shots. 81% from line too, 26-32.

The Tigers, lol. Last year they were dead last AL for runs scored and HRs, 14th across board for OB Slugging and OPS. They hit 110 HRs and gave up 167.
so far this year 14th runs and HRs, and 14-15 for OB slugging and OPS. Yet last 2 games they have matched season high for runs scored with 7 each. If Giants can’t get these guys out…

Fox&Monk we’re incredible 40pts and 30 pts knocking down 3’s driving to the hoop getting free throws etc.Outscoring Curry&Thompson 70-51 in a real exciting game.Warriors had 2 good looks to tie it with Wiggouts and Curry’s you can’t get a better 2.9 sec look play! Yeah the old stars are gasping for air,but its still the perennial losing Kings and one game means nothing to me, get a split is all they need

yeah. But for one night it was great to see how excited and proud their fans were

I expect we just get blown out today. But here’s to hoping Webb gets right.

Hey, we might not lose after all . . .

Blake Sabol experiment so far? 2 errors for C interference, costly OF miscue yesterday on ball that could have been caught…at plate 7-36 2 HRs (only extra base hits) 1 BB 15 Ks. worth keeping on roster all year? Part of solution (to what idk) or part of the problem of continuous roster chrun of bottom feed AAAA players?

    • Flavor said, on April 16, 2023 at 10:59 am

absolutely! He’s only going to get better at catcher and he needs the experience at the fast paced to get it. Catching down below won’t teach him shit. Also, who are your better options down below? I doubt Bailey is ready or he’d be here by now. I’m not opposed to Sanchez when he’s ready but i still like Sabol, I’d ditch Bart before Sabol

Fair enough. Bailey fwiw 2-4 2 rbis for Richmond AA yesterday. Hitting .320 with .770 OPS; Giants still high on him. MCC site has daily updates on all Giants minors teams. Slater homered in second rehab game last night as Sac won 15-6 in Reno.

Bloody great game. Have been agreement all year that the Kings are legit talented team. I had Fox on my fantasy team and he was a stud all year and super stud last night. Kerr has got to stick Payton on him let’s say like a glove for big stretches like say most of the 4th. Will expect Monk will not have a similar game again this series.

I realize Inam a stickler but would have liked to have Kerr call a time out there even as they were coming down court with Sabonis and Draymond tied up because with 20 seconds left down just one they could have drawn something up for a game winning easier shot or to get fouled with time running out and to disallow the Kings a decent last shot. I expect Dubs will win Game Two but will be a hell of a series. I am rooting for Memphis but a Faker-Dubs series would be equally epic.

Memphis??? The team with Dillon Brooks??? yeow GH. That guy is universally hated by Warriors fans, for wiping out Payton last year and general thuggery around Curry.

    • unca_chuck said, on April 16, 2023 at 2:43 pm

Memphis will fold like a K-Mart tent. I mean, even worse than the Lakers. Gutless and weak they are.

    • Flavor said, on April 16, 2023 at 7:46 pm

GH what do you like about Memphis? They are so easy to hate. A bunch of bitches who aren’t as good as they think they are. What’s to like about that?

      • Giant Head said, on April 16, 2023 at 8:11 pm

Not really anything to do about liking Memphis but just my hatred for the Fakers and Lebron specifically overrides all other hatreds…at least in the NBA. Plus I’d rather play Memphis than the Fakers in round two because think they will be way easier to beat as we did last year.

Wow how about the Clippers game and Westbrook coming up with defensive play/rebound after defensive play/rebound. Did not expect that at all, especially with Paul George not playing. Let’s see what the Suns are made of. I still think everyone is underestimating the Nuggets..

Fantastic game. 1st time in a while i wasn’t mad at the end of a road loss. No ridiculus turnovers, stupid fouls. Just a team that hit clutch shots down the stretch to do to the Dubs what they have been doing to others teams for a decade. lets go in game 2!
Re Wiggins..fantastic return, but maybe tired at the end? Poole’s matador defense (credit to D Kearns, but who was annoying with her incessant praising of every player the whole game) the only bad spot down the stretch.

    • Flavor said, on April 16, 2023 at 7:45 pm

totally. I think Wiggins just got gassed

  10. unca_chuck said, on April 16, 2023 at 12:38 pm

Yeah, Dubs just got beat. What i didn’t like was they were in the penalty with 8:45 left in the 4th and they didn’t drive to the basket. The Kings did and got a bunch of free throws down the stretch that won the game for them. Poole has been decent at getting to the line and he should have been attacking while Steph was out. Instead they went to chuck and duck mode.

    Hooray! Game is postponed!

  12. alleykat69 said, on April 16, 2023 at 3:59 pm

After a 10 game road trip ending against the Nationals , the Giants will have a dayoff ,well not now and go to Detroit for the 11th for this makeup game on July24 before finally coming home to face the A’s on the 25th…

Cubs took 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers.

    • willedav said, on April 16, 2023 at 4:37 pm

yeah they beat Urias 3-2 today. Back to back HRs by Wisdom and his old buddy Bellinger who had stolen a bag and scored their first run. Winning pitcher was Drew Smyly. Boxberger allowed one hit and K’d side in 9th including Freeman to end it.

      • zumiee said, on April 16, 2023 at 5:52 pm

Yeah, Freeman got hosed on a strike 3 call in the 9th. It was pretty funny.

  14. zumiee said, on April 16, 2023 at 4:07 pm

Padres lost again. The entire division is bleh right now.

  15. Macdog said, on April 16, 2023 at 4:21 pm

Watching Mets-A’s, man, the A’s pitchers are wild.

Bochy is having a lot of fun in his return so far.

    • Flavor said, on April 16, 2023 at 7:44 pm

i couldn’t care less about Bochy right now. Just my two cents. I love him but he’s gone and has nothing to do with out team anymore. Win, lose, I just don’t get why he’s even someone we discuss anymore.

      • zumiee said, on April 16, 2023 at 10:21 pm

There’s a lot of love for Bochy in Giants Land. It’s good to see him get off to a good start. It’s a feel-good story so far.
It being the Rangers, it could all end up in a huge collapse, but for now he’s having a nice return to managing.

  17. blade3colorado said, on April 17, 2023 at 11:02 am

Bochy is well loved and I have no problem with him or anything else being discussed here. Although I hate the HOF (as they are totally inconsistent about membership), I am hoping he will eventually be admitted into the HOF. Not certain if there is a membership prerequisite about being gone from the game for a certain amount of seasons as there is for players. Regardless, I hope he makes the HOF on the first ballot whenever that occurs in the future.
