The Believers
Yes, it is reasonable to assume that I have too much fun with ChatGPT. This will not be the last one:
“Sarah and David had always been big fans of the San Francisco Giants. They had grown up watching the team play and had fond memories of attending games with their families. So, when the Giants had a particularly bad season, it was a tough pill to swallow for the die-hard fans.
But Sarah and David never lost faith. They believed in the team, even when everyone else thought they were terrible. They knew that the Giants had the potential to be great and that they just needed a little bit of support and encouragement to get there.
As the season wore on, the Giants continued to struggle. They were losing games left and right, and their record was one of the worst in the league. But Sarah and David refused to give up on them. They continued to attend games, cheering loudly and proudly for their beloved team.
Their dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Other fans began to take notice of their unwavering support, and soon, a group of die-hard Giants fans had formed around Sarah and David. They called themselves the “Believers” and made a pact to never give up on the team, no matter how bad things got.
Despite the odds, the Giants began to turn things around. They started winning more games, and their confidence grew with each victory. The Believers were there every step of the way, cheering them on and never losing faith.
Finally, the Giants made it to the playoffs, much to the surprise of everyone who had doubted them. Sarah and David were overjoyed, knowing that their unwavering belief in the team had paid off.
As the Giants went on to win the World Series, Sarah and David were at the stadium, tears streaming down their faces as they celebrated with the rest of the Believers. They knew that they had been a part of something special, something that had required dedication, perseverance, and an unshakeable belief in the power of the Giants.
Years later, Sarah and David would look back on that season with fondness, remembering the joy and camaraderie that had come from believing in something when no one else did. And they knew that they would always be Giants fans, through thick and thin, because they had seen what could happen when you never lose faith.”
i love how they had one of the worst records in the league but still went on to win the WS lqtm
chatGPT is nonsense that I do hope we’ve seen last of. Elementary school kids can write better fiction. And btw I highly recommend Bonnie Garmus “Lessons in Chemistry”, funny fictitious look at science and life in Ike days.
Hey the Giants just won (or survived I guess) a Stripling start. That’s stuff of faith. With juiced ball and no one playing short RF on him, along with not having to play the OF, Joc should have a good season. Though I’d recommend taking better slides at whatever base he’s headed for.
i can’t believe you’d say something so terrible about two of the greatest Giants fans of all time, Sarah and David.
So what’s wrong with Cardinals, 9-13 and like Giants 4th in their division? As a team they hit .270 with one of highest OB and OPS in NL yet are only 8th best for runs scored. Pitching has worse ERA than Giants. And of course bring to town couple guys that torture Giants.
Hope our friend Daniel checks in, first introduced to us by Pawlie in ” Baseball’s Starry Night.” Like to hear his take on new rules and what future holds for baseball fandom in STL.
Can you find out if Sarah and David make road trips?
If so, I’ll drag myself to Citifield when the Giants come to town
and maybe even get pics with them…
Let’s see if they can win a series. It’s a little big of a slog just to get to .500.
Who was the couple Twin was always referencing? Vern and Ellie?
Whitey’s parents, Vern and Vera maybe?
Right again. I’m reading these backwards.
Looking at that Mets program from 1973, the Mets were in last place at 35-46 and ended up in the World Series. The Mets were in last place till August 30 and won the East. At 82-79.
So, hey it could happen.
And their rallying cry was “Ya gotta believe!!!!!”
Yep!!
Giants went 88-74 that season and finished 3rd in NL West, while the 82-win Mets got to the World Series and nearly won it, 11-year-old me was already a bitter fan.
When they were kids…
can you imagine either one of those cherubs to say a single negative thing about their favorite team, the giants?
They’ve sparked my interest and infused me with positivity.
I was really ready to just bail on the season…
Speaking of believing, Tuck Fard Carlson ousted from Fox News. Effective immediately.
He and Bill O’Reilly can start their own bullshit fear-mongering garbage machine.
You can’t work on air at Faux News and be caught on tape or in emails telling the truth.
Or get sued for sexual harassment. Bad for business…
This is not the positive Giant talk that I come here to read!
Any word from the Cardinal dude, Daniel is it?
No. I think he thinks the blog is still dead
There’s nothing on his own C70 blog either, since he did those playing pepper things with other team’s fans, before season started.
Nod to the Bums for quietly renewing Andrew Toles contract annually for last 5 years . . . even though he hasn’t played a game since 2018. Apparently, Toles has multiple medical/psychological issues and the renewed contracts allow him to maintain his health insurance for treatment of same.
Couple roster moves coming up once Haniger and Slater activated. They’re being evaluated today I think per Baggs. Wisely and Ruf seem obvious candidates, though Baggs wondered about Villar status too given how well Davis has played at 3b. Wilmet hitting well too so no room at 1b.
Up here in the Seattle area, where sportstalk radio is a wasteland, they talked about Haninger over the winter, but not much now. Then, it was something like “we’ll miss him, but how much can we miss him when he was hurt so much”. Hopefully the dude won’t be on the IL too often, he’s a pretty good stick when he’s healthy. As for Slater, he hasn’t shown to be anything more than a decent 4th OFer on a playoff contending team, when he’s not hurt. His being back will help, but it’s not like Bobby Bonds is back from the IL…
I would think Beck is an obvious candidate to go down?Maybe Highway to Hell as well?
Though Giants will keep a minimum of 12 pitchers, So Wisely makes sense given all the LH hitting OF.So I’m going with Wisely &Beck going down on Z’s latest revolving carousel of moves..
TF noted that Vera was known for her ambrosia salad.
Her ambrosia was always a big hit at pot-lucks.
Thank you, Zum. 😂😂😂
I was wracking my brain trying to remember that…
Twin definitely had a fun side…
D Fox broke his finger last night?
Happened during the game, 4th Q
wow that’s too bad. Having a tremendous season and playoff series.
Wow, shooting hand, top of index finger.
They have to see if he can play with it, he’s too important to not at least try it out, I should think…
Clearly.
The 2023 first round picks going both directions are a wash. Seems the Pack net gets the Jet’s current 2nd round pick, then potentially Jet’s next year’s 1st round pick. On paper, I’d say Jets did well, especially if Rogers stays 2 years and he’s still good…
I would really like to see the Jets do something.
1. Austin Slater (R) DH
2. Thairo Estrada (R) SS
3. Mitch Haniger (R) LF
4. J.D. Davis (R) 3B
5. Michael Conforto (L) RF
6. Wilmer Flores (R) 1B
7. David Villar (R) 2B
8. Mike Yastrzemski (L) CF
9. Joey Bart (R) C
P: Alex Cobb (R)
Giants activate both Slater who’s leading off tonight, and Haniger batting 3rd ..
Wisely back to Sac,Ruf the fake injury ( right wrist to 10 day DL)
going to the game tomorrow night. My daughter’s cousin is singing the natty anthem with some group of kids.
infuriating first inning.
And another bases loaded flop…
That was frustrating.
radio guys cracking me up today: “The Giants are getting Haniger and Slater back! They’re finally at full strength!” LOL.
That might be Stripling’s quickest inning this season.
Slater must of had the stop sign on any play in that first inning. He should of scored 3 times but nooo!
Glad I’m missing this I guess.
Haniger K, welcome to the Giants.
Oh boy. The kiss of death?
Yep.
Hey Now!! I’ll take it New guy makes good.
PS. Are we thew worst conditioned team in the league?
JD on the rocks!!
YA GOTTA BELIEVE!!!
Han sac fly, we’ll take it.
Davis crushed that hanger.
I’m a little behind, JD 3R HR!
That program is giving me endless entertainment. I don’t recall J.R. Richard ever being on the Mets.
K & K making excuses for major league outfielders looking like little leaguers…
That was a ugly route by Haniger who should of caught that ball. But hey 1st game out there I’ll cut him some slack..
Nothing worse than a foul ball and it shows a fat guys butt crack!!
C000000000BB!
Wow. Glad I started watching. Complete game shutout?
Nice job for Cobb.
Rare complete game.
Very nice…
Sarah and David are very proud of their favorite SF pitcher, Alex Cobb.
Nice complete game win.
Real solid CG in days that it rarely happens anymore!Great stuff Alex Cobb tonight!!
Tears are streaming down my face.
J.D. on 35/100 pace…
Fantastic game.
