Great Series Win
Another solid pitching performance. In a world of stupid openers and piggybackers, I appreciate the solid starting job. And we even added on to a lead something we usually give up weakly. Going into Houston and winning 2 of 3 was very impressive.
Dubon came up ant-small after his stupid, misguided comments.
Yep, the facebook crowd was bemoaning the fact we lost such an all-star.
Please. Like Matt Duffy, they hear about one good game among the extended time on the bench and cry that wee need him so bad.
it’s crazy what a simpleton approach some fans have to certain players. I got a buddy who, to this day, is certain the Giants fall from the top was related to Duffy leaving. Like, that was the reason. LOL
Yep. Like Duffy (or Dubon, or Adrianza) was the talisman that everyone rallied around and when he left, the team lost its soul. I mean, losing guys like Connor Joe is a bigger deal to me as he’s proving to be a pretty solid player that we appeared to give up on too soon. But no. let’s shed a tear for the backup .250 infielder who was bumbling around the basepaths like a drunken sailor on shore leave.
Looked up Dubon #s from 2021 and 2022 before Giants traded him away. Both seasons he hit .239/.240 with low OB because he rarely walked and OPS .636 and .655, without power either. And youtube highlight reel of baserunning gaffes.
They kept Estrada, far superior player and obviously Dubon had little to do with 2021 success and hadn’t changed undisciplined approach at plate. After he sounded off Kap took high road.
He’s same guy now riding high BA, without power or walks–0 HRs/3 BBs in 114 PAs.
Funny read in Athletic about Yanks GM Cashman telling fans to be patient with what he calls “Championship caliber” roster, while sitting dead last AL East at 17-15. This is team with large payroll, and Judge Stanton Rodon Donaldson and others on IL. About 90 comments from fanbase, exactly none of which were positive. Last Yank title 14 years ago, 2009.
so great that we’ve won 3 since they last won 1
Really cautionary tale about spending stupid $$ imo. Judge, Cole OK. Rodon Stanton (still owed $150 mil) Donaldson ($20 mil this season hurt again), spent $70 mil for stiff like A Hicks. Even DJ they will be paying $15 mil a season for til age 38.
Rodon will be their giant albatross. His back is fucked and he’ll be ‘recovering’ most of the season.
A lot of us on here cautioned against a LT deal with Rodon. Looks like we were right for at least the first year of the deal. Not signing him to a crazy LT deal was likely a no brainer for Farhan. Any off season output to media that SF had interest in Rodon for the LT was likely a PR smoke screen…

another reason not to go there. I got so fucking sick from a trip to Mexico once…..
Years ago a friend of mine got so sick with dysentery he had to go to the hospital. I guess it’s still the same ‘don’t drink the water.’
my two college trips to Mazatlan were the worst Super awful sick both times. I think I got that foot hand virus thing both times…I will never go back to Mexico, especially now as a narco state.
Been to Mexico ten times. Lived there two winters in the 70s (Cuernavaca, great; Chiapas highlands, astonishing). Sick twice, one ER visit where the md cured me gratis with a mainline of morphine and a jab of anti-b, and one clinic visit (not gratis) for a dysentery diagnosis and immediate treatment (that bout was not good). Otherwise, many many months of clear bright health. And as I recall, I got very sick after my last high end biz trip to Phoenix AZ.
Hah! Went to Haiti when I was 11 (1972 I think) and got dysentery. We were about 250 miles away from Port Au Prince on the north coast staying in these grass huts on the beach. Just miserable for 2 days when the guy that ran the place finally gave me powdered opium for 2 days straight. I was tripping balls but it got me over the hump. Great trip tho. Snorkeled with black tipped reef sharks, barracuda, octopussies everywhere. Sting rays, all kinds of stuff. I was too young to dive, but but my brother and dad went down about 100 feet. All kinds of sharks down there.
MLB’s special food poisoned them.
Dear old dad ended up buying a place outside of Puerto Nuevo south of Rosarita. Went down there all the time without any problems. Best pacific lobster in the world, and it was like $3.50 a lb. We’d get them right off the fishing boats. His ride down there a 1968 LTD country squire with a 428 police interceptor motor in it. God damn I had fun fucking around down there.
maybe the best of times….
“…selected player must remain active (not on disabled list) for a minimum of 90 days.”
Rules for Rule 5 players. So in other words Sabol does NOT have to play full season with big club Giants, just another couple months. As reserve OF/part time C behind Bart.
AD Stands in the key for 7-8 seconds with no call. And Dray misses his first 2 FTs.
Poole is just flailing these days.
everytime he touches the ball I shudder. He’s like 12 elbows and 18 knees flying around and banging into eachother at the same time
Sometimes when I get online in the morning, I come here first, see what’s happening in the world of sports and/or the world in general. If there’s a game going on (W’s, Giants, whatever), I try to guess how the team is doing based on the comments. Sometimes you guys are so funny: I read these several comments about the Warriors game and think, oh, they must be losing again. Huh, up by 28 points in the 4th… 🙂
Crazy turn around. I see all the time the games are scripted. LOL!
Games like this seeing the monster AD played so meekly the next day is just bizarre. He cannot be stopped by us, yet lakers changed the way they play anyway. I like it, but bizarre!
