A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Mauling The Marlins

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 20, 2023

I know Alcantara hasn’t been the same this year as he was last year but that’s still a nice win against a stud pitcher.

Doubt Bailey is ready to hit at this level but this is a pretty lost season already so why not?

Preakness today. My pick is Blazing Sevens. I will be very surprised if Mage wins.

Only C who seems ready to hit is Sabol. Bart does have options though I wonder if Giants would do that after IL stint ends.

Dunno what announced crowd was last night, but Arraez is someone worth paying to watch hit.

    • willedav said, on May 20, 2023 at 9:09 am

Looked up what he did first series vs. Giants, in Miami in April. Marlins took 2 of 3, Arraez was 4-13 but Marlins drew 8 thou to all 3 games so I guess no one there paying to watch.
He’s 9-20 in last 5, with one oh fer vs. 3 x 2 hit games plus last night’s 3 hit game.

Pads booed off field by home fans again after 6-1 L to BoSox, 10th in last 12. R Devers hit 2 HRs off Blake Snell, who has ERA of 5.40 in contract year. yikes

Pads put Machado on 10 day IL after getting beaned in hand Monday.

      • alleykat69 said, on May 20, 2023 at 10:36 am

Yeah Machado has a hairline fracture in his hand no anticipation on his return.Nothing but dissension in there clubhouse They can’t score from the top of the order are bottom.Near bottom of the league in strikeout pct.and RISP Fans are pissed off 😡

BF how was the Sister Hazel concert 🎶 they still have it?

    • Flavor said, on May 20, 2023 at 11:51 am

they’re slowing down a little. And they didn’t play my favorite song, Tear by Tear. The girl i went with asked them to play it and the singer was like “I don’t think I remember all the words to that one” lmao. I’m surprised they didn’t honor her request, she has a spectacular rack that was in full display

Like Perform to outperform the field and end Triple Crown threat for another year.

Yanks DFA Hicks with 3 years/$30M still owed…

    • Flavor said, on May 20, 2023 at 11:51 am

      Giants should pick him up

    • snarkk said, on May 20, 2023 at 12:13 pm

Doesn’t matter to Yanks and RSox about players with big coin left on their deals.
If they’re crap, they’ll DFA those dudes like deadheading spent flowers.
Giants wait until the whole plant is brown and limp…

Lulz boy isn’t that the truth! 🥀
Well the Giants did dump C Gary Sanchez( after he did shit at Sac)so maybe that learning some lol 😂
Though on cur he goes to the Yanks farm team and hits.318 now gets called up, let’s see how long that works before they DFA him..

Christina Blacker not only looks great at Pimlico in her off shoulder, she had the 15-1 winner in Grade 3 stakes 8th race. Never Explain ridden by Flavien Prat closed best among 5 horses within a length of each other at finish.

    Hologram in CF.
Can’t waste a Logan Webb start much like when it seemed
all we had was Bum for a few seasons…

    1. Thairo Estrada (R) 2B
    2. Wilmer Flores (R) DH
    3. Michael Conforto (L) RF
    4. J.D. Davis (R) 3B
    5. Mitch Haniger (R) LF
    6. LaMonte Wade Jr. (L) 1B
    7. Casey Schmitt (R) SS
    8. Patrick Bailey (S) C
    9. Bryce Johnson (S) CF

    P: Logan Webb (R)

    • willedav said, on May 20, 2023 at 12:54 pm

He’s just there to catch the baseball, Loo. Schmitt for Craw is good move though, no? Rest of lineup looks solid with Wilmet DHing. Nice game from Haniger last night.

        “solid”, oy.

    Quick hook for Webb IMO.
    The pussification continues…

Estrada can make a difference right here.

I’m picking Red Route One to win the Preakness!

Webb replaced due to the dreaded lower back tightness, although iirc he was at 91 pitches too. I know a thing or two about lower back tightness. Makes it tough getting in or out of a low slung car.

  13. mrsprtdude said, on May 20, 2023 at 5:06 pm

Confounding that they get some good pitching and can’t hit!

  14. alleykat69 said, on May 20, 2023 at 5:34 pm

Yeah tough loss Mrsprtdude some times reluctantly you have to tip your cap to an opponent.Pitcher Braxton Garrett was phenomenal after Estrada led off the game with a hit he retired 19 of 20 straight Giants with 8K’s that’s baseball u never know on my given day..

Lost season? Shit, they just need to hang around .500 to sneak into the playoffs.

Didn’t see any of post Preakness stuff but wait til Baffert gets back to Santa Anita. FDTV already loves the guy and has zero critics there. Britney Eurton was on camera talking to him last weekend. btw, she looked great in her yellow sundress and her big hat with hair pinned up, but ew she looks a little too thin.

    Lakers down 0-3. It’s a beautiful thing.

In the Red Sox/Padre game, Jansen reached 95 several times, and 97 once. That was pretty surprising.
