This is a great day to switch over to the new blog. We’re fresh off a rousing come from behind victory, we swept the dirrrrty snakes, Posey is up and raking and Andres Torres is God. I guess if Buster is going to be Jesus Christ then God is the only thing left for Torres to be. As I said yesterday, he’s a revelation. We finally have a lead off hitter….
Today we’ve got a pretty boring, run of the mill pitching match up. 🙂
Take a look at the page to the right to see everyone’s guesses for the total number of strike outs between these two studs.
The blog is plain right now but it will be changing in the coming weeks. Fiddle around with it and let me know the things you like/don’t like. There’s a way to sign up as a member or something, I’d do that just to have access to all the options. There are a TON more features here for you than at blogspot.com including lots of administrative features that will come in handy. I’m still learning it myself so bear with me……

Denny! First again. You are definitely the early bird at these things I start up. Yes, you can choose an avatar. I think they call it a gravatar here. Poke around a bit. I am fully anticipating everyone will start off hating the site simply because it’s unknown and everyone was comfortable with the old one. But this place has lots of cool features. for instance, you can do SUPER GAY SMILEY FACES !!!!!! 🙂

so I can only see the administrative side and don’t really know what you guys are looking at. You’re just going to have to click around. The smiley faces turn into them when I do the *shift colon parenthesis” thing. I’ll see if that’s just for me. There are a million different options that I need to go through and I might have missed some of them for you guys to have access to everything. Like I said, bear with me. And if one of you finds out how to do something re-post it here so that others can follow suit….

Yep, great finish yesterday the perfect lead in to today’s matchup. Feels like a playoff game. We have to be considered the underdog with the way Tim’s been struggling and Ubaldo has been dominating.

a few things I’ve noticed. You can edit a post even after you’ve posted it. You can respond with a post to individual posts as well as individual pages. I’ll be adding pages in the coming days. You can also vote on comments/posts/threads/polls etc….And I THINK I’ve got this thing set up to go up to 500 posts without having to click on a new section. But I’m not sure about that yet, we’ll have to see…..

well, he was wrong then. Huff was talking about Jesus in front of all the reporters after the game, as we all heard. Funny thing is, when you know it’s Huff you know it’s a joke. If you think or thought Rowand said it, you could see taking it a different way. Anyway, I replaced it with Denny’s first post. We’ve got no where to go but up now. 🙂

Twin– not sure how many June contestants we have, I was in the Emergency room all night with Katie who broke her arm late last night. I’ll count later but I think it’s around 15 or so. The reply feature is intended to keep sub-threads in context. In some ways, an old fashioned discussion board is better aligned with Flap practices. Flav’s posts are as much about getting a conversation started as they are about his take on the Giants. Blog technology is oriented towards providing a public, yet personal forum for individual authors and are usually less about community exchanges.
To Twin’s great consternation, I made my way to the new blog! Awesome job Flav…thanks for the work for the past year. I dont think there is a better, more concise forum for us die-hards.
I have to give Dennis props, I was laughing my ass off with the Jesus reference. Jesus Posey may be the nickname of all-time and it beats Mohammed Posey!

I like the idea if Affeldt is going down that we might as well promote Bumgarner!!! It is obvious that Wellemeyer is pitching much better at home. Would be an interesting experiment to give the Bum the starts on the road where teams will be unfamiliar with him.
It seems Wellemeyer is a known commodity in the NL and he struggles on the road..
Buster in front of Bengie, I like it. Bochy had previously said he’d hit 7th with Bengie in the lineup. Glad he’s going with the hot hand. The hot hand being Jesus Christ, but of course.
Agreed, Buster in front on Benjie. And it only took him like 1 game to figure that out. I believe that by assigning an “author” tag to you I am allowing you to lost links and pics directly into your post. But I’m not certain of this. I know the look of the blog is drab and plain. If yesterday’s mood at China Basin was electric, today’s will be only measured in terms of Megawatts. Only thing we can be sure of today is that it is not possible that both pitchers will have perfect games.

There’s certainly no rule that states a team can’t hit their catcher 8th in the National League. Many teams do, including the Giants when Whitey is catching.

That sucks Flav..I have avoided major injuries with my five, a tumble down wooden stairs here, a hospitalizatiion there, and one eye surgery, but no broken bones..hope she recovers quickly.

she’s my *only*. She’s 7. She’s avoided major injury too but it’s just been a matter of time—she’s total reckless abandon on everything she does. I think she learned a lesson about being more careful so that’s good….

I’m hoping we don’t have to click on any pages to get to a next set of posts but maybe I should set it up that way. Lincecum doesn’t look like the same pitcher. He’s really struggling right now. 2-0 with Jimenez on the mound is pretty much ballgame.
I was wondering – the whole thing with Timmy having a blister…wouldn’t you get a blister from doing something differently than you usually do? I mean, I imagine these guys generally hold the ball the same way (allowing for the different grips for different pitches), so how would he get a blister? I think that he got a blister is more telling than his ability to pitch with it, as was the big conversation after the last start. What is Timmy doing differently, and how can we make him stop it…like IMMEDIATELY???
