The Sun Still Came Up Today…
I juts checked, it’s definitely rising this morning; despite the fact that The Todd is going to be taking the mound in a couple of hours for a road start–the horror! When we get back to ATT I think it’s time to switch Posey and Pablo in the line up–we’ve waited long enough for Pablo to break out of this, all he’s doing now is hurting the team. Maybe 2 weeks in AAA to straighten his swing out? Would that be the worst thing in the world? I know, it’ll never happen. But this has gone on to long, something has to be done and sending him out in the 3 hole every game for 4 at bats isn’t working for him. He’s totally clueless at the plate right now…….
Fuck the Splash. Not sure I could even go there…especially now. I know there are probably a ton of dumbasses hating on the Giants about right now, and I would want nothing more than to kick their asses.
Note the fact that I’m asking because it’s not even worth checking in over there…fuck them indeed.
The U.S. kicking the shit out of the Limeys or a major Laker injury would be an excellent cure for today’s loss.
I like your style, Swickman.
I love that nobody here questions wishing injury on the Lakers. It’s good to be among friends!
Timmy, Zito and Matt the Horse getting ready to stifle the A’s. It will help a lot if the hitters can get off that GDP schneid sometime soon and kick some As-s as well. Game is over. We lost. My stated hope on this blog was to somehow take two of three from Pittsburgh and split with the Reds. It happened. Sure, it was a crazy, frustrating game, particularly with Wellemeyer doing so well and then pulling his hammy; but it could be a blessing in disguise as Bumgarner or maybe Martinez will get the call and when Wellemeyer recovers the team will have it’s long-needed long-man.
Shit will happen. It did today. Wheel of Karma will give the Giants a madcap victory to make up for today. Nice to see it happen soon. Even better if it comes down when the team desperately needs it. This was our #5 starter today and Flavor’s lead notes were full of despair over Wellemeyer. Bautista may need to be monitored for awhile, but i think Mr. Mota will bounce back. If Bautista does not come around, Edlefsen is on tap at Fresno and he has been dominant. So has Tony Pena Jr. at Richmond.
Oakland and then Baltimore. Sweep would be sweet. I could very well live with five of six. Remember, we OWE those A-hoes.
BarryForever is Dodger Skum. Ah, that feels good.
Jeff Dem is a Fuckwad for being an A’s/Dodgers fan.
I don’t mind catching some shit from Dodger fans if they reciprocate when the tables are turned. It’s just so frustrating when they don’t take their medicine when their team gets knocked out of the playoffs by the Phillies. That’s what makes me want to kick asses when they show up to gloat again.
I do like the momentum that the team has gained offensively from Posey, Torres, Burrell and Sanchez. Sandoval, Molina and Rowand all had some contributions today. I sure would like to believe that this team is turning the page on the wretched hitting of the past.
Bring up Bum and Martinez for Welly and Bautista and I’ll be a happy man.
Stix, stop it with this polly attitude. It’s making me look at the bright side. I want to wallow in this loss for a while.
Stix – I hear you. I had the same wish (and prediction)…2 from the Bucs, and a split with the Reds. Should be happy with a winning road trip, but dammit, after leading 4-zip, and then losing in that manner…it just fucking hurts. The way we have played the A’s…2 of 3 would be good, but a sweep would be extra sweet! 5 of 6 would be a great homestand. Two off days packaged in with that next roadie to Toronto and Houston. Then it is home for the Sox and Bumbinos.
God I hope we kick the living shit out of the Dodgers end-of-month. How sweet would it be to sweep their Bum asses right outta SF (rhetorical question…we ALL know the answer to that one)…
I’m not putting this loss behind me until after my session at the brewery this afternoon/evening. Like Swick…I’m into wallowing for a while, too.
This one is all on Bautista and Mota. Man, I hate relievers. Now I’m having a bitch-fest with my Mets colleagues, who had to endure their team getting 2-hit by the Pads, including the last 22 retired in a row.
Well, i had a new thing for me yesterday. a full blown panic attack. Totally freaked me out… anyway, a real rough loss but don’t overreact… at least you’re not in Cincinatti where the best thing to eat is third rate chili on spaghetti-o’s with grated orange cheese..
Hey, off topic, and sorry (well, not really) if some of you are Trojan fans…but how ’bout USC getting the schlong stuck to them (2 year bowl ban, etc.). I love it!
I stop by the splash to read Henry’s posts. New one up says Bum’s been suspended for three games for his tantrum the other night — Sat, Sun and Mon. Impossible that the Giants would call him up to pitch Tuesday (next 5 slot). The kid’s timing could not have been worse, for him or the team. I bet they let him take a couple more starts in Fresno now and give the 5 slot to Martinez, at least temporarily.
There are many lessons in all of this for all of us. But I agree with the consensus — fuck it all, give me a six pack of IPA. I’ll consider the lessons learned later.
Panic attack, Twin? Everything cool (beside the gut-wrenching loss)?
Well they screwed the pooch on that one didn’t they. They could smell the stink all the way over in Sout Africa where the World Cup is being held.
So, what is/was the prognosis on Wellie? I know he pulled a hammy or something trying to beat out a grounder, but heard no details. If it is minor and he can pitch, I think he takes his turn on Tuesday.
Chi, Schulman reports that Welle will be on the disabled list, and Bumm was suspended for his outburst the other day so Schulman’s guess is Joe Martinez
Schulman just posted this info so no one has had time to post a comment there yet. working word is Yet.
Sorry. couldn’t resist. Had to respond to Henry’s simplistic b.s.
Who gives a rat’s ass about the tantrum? Bring MB up anyway. He won’t have to server the suspension on the major league team. . .
Chuck, you secretly admire Al Davis, don’t you?
Al Gallagher, maybe . . .
twin, you okay? And thanks for bringing up “The Threeway”
Speaking of “Dirty Al,” the former. I say the odds are 50/50 he’s pushing daises before the bye week.
Too bad, that would have been the perfect time to fire Tom Cable.
BTW, how the fuck does that fat fuck Cable still have that job? Never anything too surprising coming out of Alameda HQ I guess. Can’t wait to humiliate those bastards in the regular season game. I truly loathe and wish for bad things to happen to that organization.
BTW, how the fuck does that fat fuck Cable still have that job?

My Guess? Because he had to use JaMarcus. Thus, alibi
True, that was one gigantic handicap he was forced to burden. I don’t hear his phone ringing off the hook either with NFL invites. WTF does he care, he’s counting his dough while I’m still lamenting over today’s gut-wrenching defeat. Life sucks.
I guess the silence here is appropriate but I’m glad the Giants played well enough to split the series. Frankly, that’s all I expected.
Great.
That’s the 3rd time I’ve written that same thing. I’m turning into soph
Yeah, I’m OK. Like I said, I had what I guess you call a “panic attack”. Not ever having one, that’s what I’m calling it anyway. It’s impossible to describe after the fact.. but I’m OK now…maybe it was just years of stress…
This is DEFINITELY a potential home sweep coming up and I see Tim kicking it off with a CG domination of the Ass Boys…
I missed the entire gm until I was able to turn on the radio one batter in to mota’s inning. Gonna drown our sorrows with some round table pizza and pliney the elder…..
Pliney the elder? That some kind of new whiskey?
Quote of the day: Tim Flannery on vices
“This game beats on you so bad that by August you’re doing Tequila shots, not sleeping and eating late-night cheeseburgers. With the schedule, you say,”How in the world did i get through one year, let alone 31?”
Giants third base coach Tim Flannery explaining why it’s hard for the coaching staff to stay healthy during the season.
Geez , Tim welcome to Flapper nation, you’re definitely a candidate!
Pliney the Elder is the best beer, by far, anywhere…..
The site was down for a while. I got an email from support apologizing saying this never happens to them.
Welcome to Rooom B, Mr. Flannery . . .
Yeah, it crapped out on me for about 10 minutes, Flav.
It didn’t look like anyone else was affected . . .
Just bad luck, this site is much more reliable than blogger.com though I’m sorry u guys can’t edit your pists
AA was founded on this day back in 1935 in Akron, Ohio by Dr. Robert Holbrook Smith and William Griffith Wilson.
After today’s game, I bet they get a few new members.
Martinez scratched tonight so he’ll probably be up tomorrow. Sosa replaced him, he’s gone 5 strong innings, 3 H 1 run 0 BB 4 K… this is terrific news. Bumgarner, Martinez, and now Sosa… could really open up major trade options.
Torres-RF
Franchez-2B
Panda-3B
Lee-1B
Huff-LF
Uribe-SS
Buster-C
Rowand-CF

Bench: Burrell, Rent, Bengie, Ishi and Whitey I’ve seen worse.
That’s not bad Dennis…if they were to get Lee. Tho currrently, I’d switch up Pablo and Buster in the order.
Where did everyone go? No discussion of the game?
My comments yesterday weren’t exactly appropriate. I was having a less than stellar day. The Flyers had just lost the Stanley Cup, then the Giants rolled over late, putting me in a funk. It was more than I could take.
What would help is laying a big-time whuppin’ on the goddamn A’s.
Listened to most of yesterday’s game…how many times did it happen where a SF would have brought in a run, and SF hit the ball into the ground instead with disastrous results. Even the one Burrell hit should have been a DP but Rolen fucked it up and we scored. I know Uribe and Sanchez hit the ball hard, vs Pitt we had 4 SF for runs, yesterday 0 and 13 LOB.
Pen is just a crapshoot right now..I guess no better than LA or Rox, but Casilla looks great now just by being effective. I can’t see that last for him; none of these guys seem like high mileage use all the time pitchers, including Mota. What happened to Runzler and Affeldt? SPs have to be more worried about pen these days than the offense—so go 9 like Cain!
Posey, has power, no complains about him not hitting homers
