Surprised we don’t see Rowand tonight…….

I’m busy with a bunch of stuff tonight but if anyone mentions “Renteria” in this thread you are getting the comment deleted. I’m done with this. And I’m done with the paranoia about “who is posting as who”. Talk about the game and the team or you’re all free to post at the Splash. If you mush use language, head back over to the dead-blog and post till the cows come home. I really don’t give a shit……

May be sad to watch, Ted, but i do prefer to see the walking meltdown happening to the pitcher on the other team for a change. Refreshing in its way.

This Orioles series might completely junk the contest numbers. Wins, Runs Scored, Homers… all coming in over forecast.

Cue Aerosmith’s “Walk this Way.” Showing good discipline. Either that or they’ve been watching our pen of late.

    Jolly good show tonight.

having some sympathy for the O’s now. This is like watching a bully beat up little handicapped kids. 😦

Agreed stix. I just always hate to see such consecutive bad or bad luck pitching. No matter who it is. I get empathetic and it’s painful.
Shit, he did it again. Ishi scored!

Double figures! Keeping the scoreboard operator busy tonight. A person could get really used to this.

No wonder the RSox and Yanks get so many wins. I wouldn’t mind playing this squad 19X…

It IS sad to see a once proud franchise down the toidy. What is it, about 1983 the last time the O’s were in the Series? Until they get a new owner, it won’t change. Angelos and Cohan should be set adrift in the same lifeboat…

    Nice game.

Who would have guessed in mid June that 5 regulars would have a higher BA than Pablo’s .282…

What is happening tonight is something akin to the letting off of a head of steam. Until the recent additions of Posey, Sanchez and Burrell, the Giants offense was a struggling affair and Giants pitchers had to pitch on tenterhooks, almost constantly. Additionally this team has seen a lot of good starters and excellent relievers over the first third of the season. So for the Giants hitters its been a time to hang loose and let the chips fly where they may.

Ted, my own empathic side would prefer this was happening against the Dagos (who look to be losing tonight) or the LaBumbos, rather than the hapless O’s. But you gotta play the bad teams as well as the good ones and Baltimore does have a fairly decent chance tomorrow against Martinez. Can’t say i’m particularly taken with their chances on Wednesday, though.

Now even with the Bums and a half-game back of Pads, but even in the loss column. Not too bad πŸ™‚

Great F—–news. At the rate they are going, I should be eliminated from the contest by the time they hit Houston.

Enjoy it ,it may be only last one night but they lead the NL in runs scored in June…

As of tonight there are only four teams in baseball with better records than the Giants. They trail the Rays and the Yanks by four games. In the NL they are in third place, one-half game in the win column behind both Atlanta and San Diego, but even with them in the loss column. That Toronto series in gonna be interesting as it will be on the road, in a foreign country and against a team which is pretty decent overall.

The really interesting series will be the one against the LaBumbos at China Basin at the end of the month. I suspect the hometeam will have a real glint in their eyes going into that one. They now know what they can do. It’s no longer just a matter of dampen em down by a bit of mound magic and hope for some bats to come through.

Was good to see Bochy run Affeldt out in the ninth in a comparatively meaningless situation. It was a good confidence builder. Some fine-tuning on that bullpen and resolving that 5th starter situation and this team should be hitting on all cylinders. With the current rotation we could be looking at an upgrade on the ’02 team.

Continuing this hot streak is imperative for the Giants. Finishing off the Orioles, a strong showing against the Jays and Astros could go a long way for the Giants. After this stretch and before the All-Star Break, the G-Men go on a KILLER roadtrip that takes them to Colorado for 4, Milwaukee for 4 and then Washington for 3. This comes after facing the Dodgers and Bo Sox 6 times at home. Those are 17 games that could swing the season. A poor stretch: the Rockies and Dodgers could pull away from the Giants. A strong showing: NL West dominance, as well as grabbing national recognition for beating East Coast teams and our hated rivals the Dodgers.

I’m all for killing this next stretch and going into the All-Star break with a 5 game NL West lead.

Well, Torres says they’re playing hard and trying to win every game.

Cal, I was looking at that schedule today, too, the first half of July before the break. That’s a helluva road trip. If they make the most of their homestand opportunities in June, they should be able to survive that road through hell. They seem to have the character(s) necessary, anyway.
