A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Every Division is Locked and Loaded for an Exciting Summer

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 15, 2010

Take a look at the standings, the LARGEST lead anyone has is 2.5 games (Twins > Detroit).  You can see a dogfight in every division all Summer long with the NL West, potentially, being a 4 team fight to the death. I doubt that will happen though, once all the division games kick back up again…..

Forget trying to explain the Andres Torres Revelation. I’d like to put it out to you guys: Can you name another player who did nothing until he was 31 and then had 2 successive seasons with an OPS average almost touching .900? Torres isn’t quite there yet, he’s got to do it all year, but over the course of last yr and this yr he’s got 334 at bats with an OPS of .876 and .896, respectively. You could play him every day simply for his defense but what he’s doing at the top of the line up is astounding. And if we’re going to go with burrell and Huff in LF and RF (and why wouldn’t we) then Torres is MANDATORY in CF to keep our OF defense honest……

He’s the 7, not the 8, fuckshit, and it’s wrong.

Wow. I’ll never forget all the angst over Bengie last year, and how he couldn’t bat lower than 6th.

He and Rowand are quickly becoming, if not afterthoughts, then soon-to-be afterthoughts. The weird thing is (to me, anyway), of all the games Posey has been up (17) he’s only caught 2. having him get comfortable there sooner rather than later would seem to be to the team’s advantage.

And he didn’t bat 8th on the 11th, either. You can’t be a dumb shit while trying to be a smart shit, capiche? And do NOT say “same thing”. You fucked up, again….

It’s astounding how in their zeal to “catch” TF, these guys fuck up so consistently. (counting from 1 through 9 shouldn’t be hard even for a lawyer). Even the quote from me doesn’t show me to be wrong, just in disagreement. As I said earlier, I certainly disagree with Pablo batting lower in the order, but unlike the morons , I’m not going to bitch while they’re scoring well anyway. No cause and effect can be shown with moving Panda, but again, bitching would be Room FWad shit..

Own it Twin. It’s you, saying Bochy capitulated to a mob of bigots. Big time fuckwad stuff, twin. (And yeah it was tough reading the LU accurately on a bberry under the circumstances. Good catch!)

On May 25th,three weeks and 20 games ago,our forefathers in an effort to form per..er.uhm, the Giants were one game over .500 at 22-21 after losing their 5 th straight game in a row.And then a couple things have happened.Rowand has be sat in favor of Torres at leadoff.Pat Burrell is hitting cleanup.Aubrey Huff is in the 3 hole, and Buster Posey has been inserted at 1B,while Freddy Sanchez came off the DL,and Eli Whiteside has outhit Molina. And even though his horrible numbers aren’t improving by anything approaching contributory,Bochy has at least removed him out of the 4 hole and so his automatic out making skills are in the 7-8 hole most of the time.

Offensively this has been an entirely different team on paper as well as between the lines. It’s only been 3 weeks, but what Andres Torres has been doing is just simply amazing this year and the team stats that reflect 20 games of team “EFFORT” when viewed in the context of the standings.

In the 20 games played since May 25th,the Giants have gone 14-6. The Giants picked up Burrell, brought up Posey, resulting in the hopefully benching of pathetic Rowand and somewhat reduced playing time of Molina.Torres is a permanent fixture in CF.Why? Try ones OPS+of 134 in 216 PA’s and a flat out OPS of .895 good for 8th out of all NL outfielders and #2 if you count center fielders.Mix in a contributing Freddy Sanchez and Panda’s so-called struggles(and he will break out) are tolerable. So it’s a mis-mash,but if they continue to score runs at this latest clip, going into Sept will be exciting, and special.

Chronology is more than sloppy, it’s non existent…
But, uh, you got there, next time try mapquest, though..

A few numbers for this evening: We’re 26-6 when scoring first (3rd-best in the Majors); 31-7 when scoring 4+, just 4-20 when < 4. 7-0 when Uribe bats 4th.

Simple math says. Uribe is batting 4th tonight, score first, score four and win.
That shit is so simple that even I understood it.
