A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

The Orioles Can’t Lose EVERY Game.

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 16, 2010

Everyone saw the same thing last night, we hit bullets at people, they hit balls in between or by our guys. That’s baseball, we are on the other end of games like that all the time.

For the people freaking out about Lasorda sitting next to Neukom:  He’s there as a representative of Milken’s group that raises a TON of $$$ for prostate cancer research. They go around all Summer from stadium to stadium doing the same thing: Milken gets his half inning in the booth, Lasorda hangs out in the owners box. I swear to God, who could possibly be AGAINST raising money for cancer research? If you’re going to spaz out about Lasorda could you get equally burned up about Milken being invited into the booth for a half inning? Or do you support a guy who was convicted of racketeering and fraud? These two guys are spending their personal time raising billions of dollars for cancer research, Lasorda can come back and coach the goddamn team if the money they raise helps us find a cure for cancer. Jesus…..

three games with the Jays and a Monday travel day back into the NL. That first game with the stros marks the start of 20 straight games into the break. We will see how Botchy plays the hot hand AND gets these guys some rest.
    Go Giants

At least Lincecum reached his quota for wild pitches today

  3. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:28 pm

I liked Bochy’s call of putting on the butcher boy. Worked same as a bunt. Tim misses, and Rowand gets thrown out, you’re still up 2-0 vs O’s. Timmy finds a hole and the game coulda been fini. Good call.

It was mostly, if not all on Pablo, come on. He had the play in front of him. Uribe rightly thought the ball was going to be caught by the way the OFer was circling under it, so he was going back to tag. Kelly was watcihing the play and telling him to get back to tag. From the CF camera, you could tell Pablo was just gazing at the OFer, and paid little if no attention to Uribe. Blaming Uribe at all is like blaming the guy stopped at a red light for getting rear ended…

You were saying Ted? Is it just me, or has Bengie just about lost the ability to block balls on a consistent basis? Seems like too many are going by these days…

Hilarious. A walk, a hit, two wild pitches and he strikes the side out

It’s been really nice to see Sanchez bring more to the team then a batting average and a thong

Snarkk: It was mostly, not all. Never said he wasn’t mostly at fault. But I’m not going to get into the percentages with you. You’re not a reasonable person when you have one of your little prejudices going. I see no one mentioned that the runt should have slid, BTW. He would have been safe AND not hurt himself.

  13. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:43 pm

I was pretty nervous about Sanchez on that play at the plate in the first inning. I don’t know if Flannery could have held him at third.
Sanchez seems to be playing through whatever pain he felt in his foot.

  14. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:44 pm

Timmy’s burying the curve too much at about 60′, but Bengie’s gotta do better to keep the ball in front of him, too…

WTF? I was about to respond to Xoot. How many “authors” are there here? This is bullshit. Xoot: I have never used anything about my health to garner some advantage or to “badger”. Fuck you with that. It has been with what I thought was the “blessing” of the others here that I have used this forum to talk about it. Just as you did with what I now sincerely doubt is any truth about your “kid”..

  18. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:48 pm

I’m not prejudiced against Panda, if that’s what you mean. If anything, like most I probably give him the benefit of the doubt too much. Whatever, in the scheme of things the play didn’t mean much. I continue to luv Huff n Puff. The guy was working it to hit to the right side to move Franchez to 3rd, and he got it done down 2 strikes. Barring some off the cliff drop in his play in the second half, I can see him coming back next year on a 1 + 1, for sure…

  19. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:50 pm

Zumie….No i think it was a head up play by Sanchez. He was right on Torres’s ass reading that play all the way.And he would of made it with a head first slide to the outside of the bag.

  21. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:52 pm

Motherless son of a fuck. Nate throws to the wrong base AGAIN. Fuck him! He’s out.
This shit is getting too dicey. Those early mistakes might bite us big time.

Nice recovery. But he seems to have the same virus some of the relievers have. Extremely inconsistent location. Maybe that was a turning point..

  25. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:59 pm

Timmy strikes out the side again. Great stuff after a shaking start.Holding them to 1 run there shows his true grit.

  26. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on June 16, 2010 at 1:59 pm

Nate is getting too much in luv with his arm. Dumbass throw thru to third. Timmy saved him from possible embarrassment…

Bengie 1-pitch out; Nate 3-pitches. Do these guys even pay attention the previous 1/2 inning?
Fucking morons the both of ’em.

  30. swickman's avatar swickman said, on June 16, 2010 at 2:03 pm

I’d be happy if the Orioles took Bengie and a sack of money from Giants ownership with them on their way out of town.

  31. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on June 16, 2010 at 2:03 pm

After that, I guess the should credit Rowand with a “good AB.” Jesus.

  32. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on June 16, 2010 at 2:05 pm

DMD, you are so right. A big problem I have with this squad is not reading the situation. As usual, when the SF pitcher just goes through a tough inning, his hitters follow up by getting out as fast as possible. Huh? Unless they ignored coaching that told them to take some pitches, I just don’t get it. And Rohand pops to left on a 1-2 pitch that could’ve hit him in the arm if he didn’t swing. Sigh…

Now Timmy’s swinging at the first pitch! Jeez!

  42. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on June 16, 2010 at 2:20 pm

I’m going to say something bordering on blashphemous here. But, I think they need to skip Timmy a start. He’s obviously not pitching poorly, he’s striking guys out. But something just isn’t right. He seems to be laboring, even in the early innings. He has to really hump it up to even get to a 91 mph heater. Skip him a start, let him rest, work on things. Maybe he’s just a little arm weary. I’m concerned…

  43. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on June 16, 2010 at 2:22 pm

99 pitches through five innings ain’t gonna get the job done. Also being had by the likes of Julio Lugo and Cesar Izturis is kinda sad. Here i thought Timmy was back. C’mon gang, this is friggen BALTIMORE.

  44. swickman's avatar swickman said, on June 16, 2010 at 2:26 pm

snarkk, I think you’ve got a point there. I think the Giants need to take Timmy’s pops on the road and give Timmy a rest to get his groove back.

That’s not gonna go over well at all with “The Apologists”. It’s Bengie’s fault, all of it..
