Baggs posted some horrific Molina stats in his “post game notes” blog last night: he’s scored 1 run since May 16th (26 starts). That’s astounding…..

It seems that close to a month later Baggs saw fit to post nearly the exact same thing with Bochy agreeing with me. Not sure what to make of that. I know, I know, I’m NEVER allowed to agree with Bochy although in this case he’s agreeing with me. The horror! Of course, here at The Flap, we’re always AT LEAST 3 weeks ahead of everyone else when it comes to kicking around a good baseball topic 🙂
This is really a huge game today. And I am worried that our guys might be looking past it with the big “Boston/Dodgers” home stand coming up. We HAVE to take 2 of 3 from these guys. It’s not life or death or *must win*, but this is a big game today….

you’re going to hit into a lot of DPs. The Twins lead baseball in that and they’re doing pretty well, too. There really isn’t much correlation between hitting into DPs and overall success. But it does give doomorons something to talk about so it’s not all bad…

Twin – my comment on the contest was a pun. No way I would root against the Giants just so I could have a shot at the contest. Each game is huge….hell, one game could swing the balance between playoffs, and breaking out the fishing poles and golf clubs. Like him or not, that was a hell of grab by Benjie on the foul pop near the dugout. Not my preference, but I really think SF could survive as is with the C rotation, and it doesn’t have anything to do with how well or poorly they hit.
With what you get out of rowand and bowker gang, and lack of offense from the AA guys in richmond, an OF upgrade wouldn’t hurt a bit.
