Whew! Maybe the problem is that on the Yahoo feed Casilla is wearing that silly green and yellow cap from his previous team. Wish they would show him in a nice black and orange topper. Magical thinking, i know, but it IS baseball.

For those with size on the OVER, are you pulling forthe strikeout there?

  13. willied's avatar willied said, on June 25, 2010 at 9:39 pm

That was hard to fucking believe. Still, nobody hit the ball off him hardly at all. Boston has only 3 fucking hits all night.

Maybe Wake gets a few guys out of the doldrums….Pablo had a nice line shot, so did Posey, Ishi….not trying to crush stuff, just solid line drives.

    Over ain’t covering yet.

Shout out to SanDog: Toreros have a guy from Los Gatos, Kyle Blair, who was WCC pticher of the year, and recently drafted in the 4th round, by Stros I think it was, reported here locally ( I just saw the LG times).

  17. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on June 25, 2010 at 9:44 pm

Rowand pulls the ball so severely so often, the thirdbaseman and shortstop are pulled way over, and there just isn’t much room for him to hit a ball through over there. He’s always trying to thread a needle over there.

  20. willied's avatar willied said, on June 25, 2010 at 9:52 pm

agreed Kev, but I do like this move. Mota can sit down alongside the other guys.

I’ll give Twin props, Casilla does have some unhittable stuff. But too many balls in the dirt. Boston did not hit the guy, tho.

  21. Max808's avatar Max808 said, on June 25, 2010 at 9:53 pm

Darnell is a cool name. I remember seeing Darnell coles play here when he was with the Pit late 80s.

I remember Darnell Hillman out of Jose State who spent a long time in the NBA. Shot blocking machine, with a classic fro too.

    Burrell LF
    Posey C

    Schierholtz RF

I like that LU for tomorrow. It has to be Madison tomorrow, right? Joe warmed up in the pen. They can’t yank around a guy’s arm like that and ask his to start the next day. Fucking Nate missed the cutoff man again. And people wonder why he doesn’t start.

WillieD: love the Kyle Blair fun fact. I also appreciate the Darnell references. I once saw Coles go deep twice at the Big A when he was with the Tigers. If memory serves, Doug DeCinces ended it with a walk-off.
I also remember Hillman joining the Warriors late in his career. We saw him throw some sick dunks during warm-ups.

With that powerful new puter, though, and dsl to go, i do need to check out a video feed soon. Maybe Sunday. I don’t like the prospect of a Bucholtz-Martinez matchup. But we did get that first one and its Timmy vs Lester on Sunday.

  69. giant head's avatar giant head said, on June 25, 2010 at 10:38 pm

I was about to get on earlier, but figure why jinx it and make note that it seems that extra run we score always seems to be a huge extra run.

Props to Nate! Base hit, speed to get to second on the grounder and the speed to score on a sacrifice..he gets one of the stars tonight.

The one really bad pitch from Wilson was the 1-2 to Beltre that Whiteside wanted a fastball up high and he hung it…whew! I am pissed I get no tv coverage tomorrow…sweep!

  70. PawlieKokonuts's avatar PawlieKokonuts said, on June 25, 2010 at 10:38 pm

I think we are now 12-13 in one-run games. When we go over .500 in that category, we will be in first. We will then stay in first as long as we win more one-run games than we lose. Tortuously simple. A simple plan.
