Big Game Today
Of course, a loss wouldn’t be devastating or anything but it would be really nice to go into the break 47-41 instead of 46-42. I think we have a great shot with this match up. Despite some very good results in certain games this year, Livan sucks and we have a new line up now that should handle him much better than the “Rowand/Molina” line ups. Bumgarner will open some eyes on the east coast today…….
Twin, don’t forget me. My prediction was 88 wins.

Henry is saying there’s even more to it than the separation, but he says he can’t elaborate. This is part of why the “electronic era” sucks sometimes. We get a lot of partial information, bits and pieces, and a lot of it none of our fucking business anyway.
Posey and Bumgarner! This team is scoring runs in bunches suddenly. Don’t know if the trolls have started to take notice but a 7-4 road trip where they outscored the opposition 73-47 deserves some attention. I suspect that division games will have a different tenor in the second half than they did in the first.
If I have to hear Santangelo say “oppo taco” one more time, I’m going to write a nasty letter to FSN Bay Area.
twin..where’s that piece by Henry on Sando?
wsw, it’s a tweet from earlier today and doesn’t say anything more than what twin said.
Q: “any truth to the rumor Pablo going thru divorce? Weighing on him?”
Henry: “Yes. Goes deeper than that, but it’s not for me to divulge.”
I think we’re going to take off for a couple more days, probably up to the Anderson Valley. I’ll do my eagerly awaited first half recap when I get back.
I seem to recall stopping in a place called Boonville on a trip to Mendocino many years ago. Quaint little town from what I can remember.
This team is on the threshold of a whole new identity. Looking good, albeit tortuous at times. Enjoy the break, boyz.
It’s near Boonville where we go, Philo. It’s on the Navarro River. Used to be great Steelhead fishing there.

BTW, the ASG contest is in lieu of a July contest. I’m working on a final one that will cover from the trade deadline to the end of the post season… so it would be sort of an elimination tourney. You’ll have to pick how far they go: no play offs, one round, all the way to the Market St. parade… prize will be a “family pack”- a full desktop, HTPC, AND netbook… I’ll get you the details after I work it out with the boss here: Flavor.
The way I’ll probably work it is the farther they go, the better the prize gets. If they don’t make the postseaon, just the desktop, if they get to the NLCS I add the HTPC, the netbook added if they win the WS. Something like that. If you have an idea on how to work it, post it here. But I want just one winner for all. So, for example, if they make the postseason, everybody who picked that is still in. Then if they win the NLDS, all those are still in, with the HTPC added to the desktop. If they get eliminated at that point, the wiinner gets the desktop and the HTPC. If they go on, only those who chose them to advance back on 7/31 are still in. Suggestions on details?
I like the staggering format. Everyone here wants the final destination to be the Market St. parade and *should* vote that way, but you know everyone won’t in hopes of winning your prize. If for some reason they don’t make the post-season, it seems like the Doomers are being rewarded. I just don’t like the idea of someone wishing for the team to fail ending up being the “winner.” Anyone voting or hoping for the team not to make the playoffs shouldn’t get jack shit.
Twin, have a good time man. Check out Hopland on your way.
Thanks, Dirt. BTW: Belt hit his 4th HR in 9 games at Richmond today…
TF: That’s great news on Belt. His seasonal track seems quite similar to that of Sandovals a couple years back, with the rise from high A to AA and continued dominance at the plate in that pitching-heavy league. Were there not already a fair to middling 1B prospect at Fresno we might expect him to get the next bump before the month is over. Perhaps a double bump might occur by the end of next month should Brandon maintain anything close to the current pace. Huff the Magic Dragon is looking more and more like a steady outfielder as First is transforming right before our eyes from a deficit zone to an embarrassment of riches as Travis currently hits his stride. All good.
Will be passing through the Anderson Valley on our way up to Sea Ranch in a couple of weeks. Love the wineries up there. The Boonville Hotel has a very nice restaurant.
That kid is on fire. Didn’t think it was possible for him to improve on those ungodly like numbers at SJ. .383/.492/.628 but he continues to rip the cover off the ball. How close is this kid to being ready, TF?
That restaurant has a very interesting history. A couple named “Rollins”, I believe, had it on the international map a couple decades ago, about the time Leonard Lake was dismembering people in the woods out back.. it eventually failed and they boogied out of town while the staff was getting ready for lunch. For awhile it was the darling of SF foodie treksters…
I’d bet that, barring a setback , Belt would be here about deadline time if Travis falters, otherwise with the September call ups..
