The Tillman shooting was a deliberate special ops takedown. Tillman was threatening to go rogue against the imperial wars. Would have been bad PR for the PTB.

    • zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:48 pm

Not true. Once again, I recommend Krakauer’s book.
I will say this though- I didn’t realize how close the shooter was to Tillman. 120 feet. Or as Krakauer points out- the distance from homeplate to secondbase. Tillman was trying to hide behind a rock escarpment a foot high.

By the way, speaking of Afghanistan, did anyone else read Joel Brinkley’s column in the Sunday SF Chronicle? He basically said the war is a lost cause because the Afghani people are too retarded. Well, he didn’t EXACTLY say that. But he did say that 60% of their people suffer from physical of mental stunting due to such poor nutrition growing up.
1/4 of all Afghani children die by the age of 5. The worst child mortality rate in the world.

contest has basically just dropped down to 3bagger vs San Diggity Dawg…….

  4. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:49 pm

I placed a bet on “a player will get 3 hits” for +290. Just became a big David Wright fan…..

  5. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:51 pm

That should have read “physical OR mental” stunting.

  6. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:51 pm

“that head first slide is how Utley tore that thumb of his”….sorry, I have the game unmuted again. WTF does that mean? Everyone slides head first into 2nd base. Why make the Utley comment? He’s just such an idiot……

  7. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:55 pm

Maybe McCarver has mental stunting. Too many foulballs off his mask and helmet.

  8. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:56 pm

Zuma: Latest info on the Tillman shooting i saw was that the takedown was done with an M-16 at about ten yards. Tight grouping, according to the autopsy.

  9. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Instead of Kuo we should be seeing Timmy next inning. This stupid ass decision not to pitch him is going to cost the NL a win…….

steal of home would be awesome right now.

  14. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:04 pm

fucking dumbass Manuel takes out Wright, the only guy who’s hitting tonight. Fuck he is such a stupid fuck…….

  15. dirtnrocksnreno's avatar dirtnrocksnreno said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:06 pm

That’s what you expect from a dodger

  16. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:06 pm

Krakauer’s book says the weapon used could make the tight grouping at 120 feet. It shoots some absurdly huge amount of bullets, like 60 bullets per second or some crazy number like that. I don’t have the book handy at the moment, I’ve loaned it out to someone.
It wasn’t a regular kind of rifle. Some kind of automatic weapon. I can’t remember the name of it. And they know who shot him. It was some hyper dude who wanted to get in on the firefight. The whole firefight was just a colossal clusterf##k of a mistake. Tillman isn’t blameless. He went running down the hill because his brother’s unit was under fire. He was over-eager to save his little brother. A bunch of people messed up. Including McChrystal who was involved in the cover up. In fact, someone in the Bush White House had involvement in the cover-up, though it’s unclear who.

  17. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:06 pm

Figures it would be a Dodger to fuck thing up for the NL.

  18. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:07 pm

I love that Posey has 3 more bombs than Mauer with like 150 less at bats. Hmmmmm, Kuo is in process of losing the game for the NL, as I said. Timmy should have had this inning. Fucking bullshit…….

  19. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:08 pm

Why is Kuo even in the game? Is this what an All-Star is about- a middle reliever getting in there?

  20. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:09 pm

Leave it to the goddamn Dodger to fuck things up. All the more reason to wish a pox on their organization.

  21. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:09 pm

I don’t care how good a season a middle reliever is having. They’re all journeymen, driving fans crazy.

  22. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:11 pm

Flav, you’d rather see Timmy tonight and force Matty to face the Dodgers. Why?

  23. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:13 pm

Matty’s due for a win against the Dodgers! That freakish streak can’t continue.

  24. twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:14 pm

The way you use Kuo and Rhodes is the way God intended: one hitter. Charley is truly an idiot. Did you catch him all dressed up yesterday? He does an injustice to dirt farmers everywhere.

  25. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:14 pm

    Due? So’s Jesus.

  26. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:18 pm

I don’t give a shit about the Dodgers, I care about every game we play. If Cain pitches instead of Timmy I’d be fine with that. I wanted to see Timmy get showcased on the national stage and it’s not going to happen. We get, as Zumie accurately called him, “some middle reliever journeyman” who’s having a good year. Fuck that. And I still don’t understand why the only fucking guy with 2 hits in the game gets pulled by our idiot manager……

  27. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:20 pm

This game is playing out similar to the one at AT&T a few years ago. The one major play in that game was Ichiro’s in-the-park HR.

Denny this got sent to THE FILTER, not sure why. Sorry. you tried to post this on the 10th….
“Where was all the support for Barry that you speak of? I thought the overriding feeling here was that Bochy most assuredly made the right move. Bruce gave Barry more than amble rope to win that game. Not his fault Zito used said rope to continue to hang himself. And his “no comment” comment afterwards was totally bush league. Fuck him. He of all people should know Bochy’s first and foremost priority is securing the win, not what pitcher gets credit for it. This latest display by Zito surely won’t help win him any new fans, well, except maybe from the Urban family.

Just noticed one other detail about Zito that doesn’t jive with me. He wears his watch on his rt. arm. As a fellow lefty, I’ve never worn my watch on that hand. I know some make think it’s acceptable, but it’s just plain wrong. Put your goddamn watch on your left hand you moron.”

  30. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:23 pm

BTW, I’m left handed and I wore my watch on my right arm until watches became obsolete like 10 years ago………

  36. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:38 pm

Mccarver is nothing more than a *quip guy*, a *sound bite chump*. You can always tell when he’s about to drop one of his worthless nuggets on us, he starts talk much slower with greater enunciation. And after he says what he says I’m like, “just talk regular speed ya doof, you’re wasting my time with this”….

  38. Flavor's avatar bigflavor said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:48 pm

question: if a game ends 1-0 with an unearned run, who could possibly be the MVP? Maybe Price cause he went 2 innings? Cano with a fucking sacrifice fly?

  39. twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on July 13, 2010 at 7:50 pm
