Timmy Needs to STEP UP
Losing to the Dempster’s and Jurrjen’s of the league isn’t anything to be ashamed of. Unless you’re the 2 time CY Young Champ. Why would a 2-time defending CY champ need a *new delivery* mid season anyway? I don’t doubt Tim’s effort one bit, but this is not where we want to be in August with our ACE….
Kinda bummed that Renteria is ouchy again–this means we will see a lot more Franchez who will be released this Winter if Burriss proves he’s healthy and productive……
With Willy Aybar DHing for the Rays I can’t help but wonder how Tampa Bay, desperately in need of a *bat*, feels about sending checks to THE BAT every month…….
LOVE IT Burrell
No fucking WAY!!!!!
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Pat the Bat! Loving it!
BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRELLLLLLLLLLL!
8th inning. Good fucking sign
Fuck, that was Zit boy’s pitch in reverse . . .
Definitely calling my great old pickup Burrell. Unless i decide to call him Pat the Bat.
Stick to your first choice.
“Sweetums”
The Bat’s on fire this August. That sure was one lucky pick up by Sabean alright. 🙂
Contact!
What a fuckin meatball. Why not just put it on a tee for him?
Well Pat the Bat just made up for Huff’s AB. Another Rocket for the patmeiister
What a fuckin’ meatball. Why not just put it on a tee for him?
Nice . . .
What a fuckin’ meatball. Why not just put it on a tee for him?
You sound disappointed, DJ . . .
Say.
Who’s going to pitch the 9th?
Fontenot pitching the 9th Ted..Wants to put a quick dagger in his old club.

Take a seat!
1 run lead. 9th inning. Ishi, above decent hitter and the best 1st baseman on the team put in.

You fly back to school, now, little Starlin. Fly, fly, fly …
congrats…your usual torture
Yeah, baby. Pat the Bat and his ugly shirt take the game . . .
Oh my goodness golly gosh
High heat for the honker.
No need for Flav to change the POTG. The Bat has been money. He’s smelling like a new, crisp, clean $100.

Keep your sex life out of this . . .
Pittsburgh is only down by 2 now . . .
A 2-run double by your fantasy C from a yr. ago, God Doumit. Gotta find a way to get to Bell tonight. Where’s Anita Ward when ya need her. She would ring Bell’s bell.
Ultimately, the game was a classic. Burrell tattooed em and Wilson branded em. Kudos also to Rowand (finally earning some of his salary) and Romo, who stifled those Chicago hitters just when they were getting into their comfort zone vs Zittsmeister. The first inning and then the 8th and 9th were impressive bookends on an otherwise mediocre performance. From the second through the 7th they played like they still were in Atlanta. But the other three were purely professional and gave them the look of a playoff team. Also nice to see Pablo showing a taste of Panda.
A win tomorrow and they ARE ready to host the Pads.
Woo Hoo for Ferrett…Keep it rolling tommorrow want that 3 rd win, then bring on the Friars.
Me likey
Goodnight, gentlemen (question mark)
Panda Panda Panda. He’s got to find the mojo . . .
Chuckles:
5 hits in two nights, ferchrissakes. That last one left a dent in the fucking wall…
A couple mentioned it here, that was a big big ballgame; I’d rate it in the top 5 (quietly) important games of the year..
I’d rate it a little lower. You couldn’t dance to it.
No question. Tonight’s win sets us up for what we needed from the Cubs, 3 of 4.
The Horse vs Randy Wells tomorrow afternoon. That has ’73 Belmont written all over it.
Giants best pitcher? It’s Brian Wilson in a goddamn boat race.
Pablo is gearing up to have another April in Sept.
Mentioned this the other night, this is the time of year when previous stats, slumps, contracts, hot streaks are all irrelevant. Some guys are going to step up, some fall back. And there’s not a damn way to tell who it wil be. Hell, a guy like Fontenot could be HUGE. He had a .900 plus OPS just two years ago. Fruckie could rediscover himself. Eli could make Vern and Vera proud…. pennant race time is always a thrill, got our first taste in a few years last year.
Secretariat never gave up an 0-2 homer, Del.
But he did pick up a rake with his teeth once and tidied up his stall.
The routine begins. Sweat spreads a piece of burlap cloth in front of the stall and begins piling it with large forkfuls of old straw and moist bedding and manure, whistling and chattering with his red horse. A rake leans tipped against the webbing, and Secretariat suddenly grabs it, seizing the handle in his teeth. He scrapes it across the aisle in front of him, then pulls it back into the stall. Grooms stop, look, and laugh.

You got that right, Loo. You got that right.
Get the Fever!
I like tomorrow’s matchup with 5-10, slightly over league average ERA Randy Wells going against Matt the Horse. Bats are livening it up a bit. Bullpen remains golden. No matter how stupid his stance looks, Rowand can still rake. Double figures in dingers now. Re-Pandification appears to be on the agenda. Posey was crazy good last night and did get an RBI tonight, but no safeties. And Pat the Bat? He’s got stretch drive written all over him. Thank You, Tampa Bay! Guess the Dink Hitter situation there bothered his scruples as an old NLer and a NoCal boy.
Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if we see Fontenot popping up now and again in the two-hole. Once Franchez started slipping that slot turned into the Giants’ Dark Hole of Calcutta. Huff and Uribe continue to contribute, so the offense is gearing up again. What we need now is an outstanding performance from the Rotation. Time for Matt the Horse to go seven or better, smothering the Cubbies batters. Bullpen could use a bit of a rest, so the full formula tomorrow afternoon is for the hitters to see Wells as Wellemeyer revisited and for Cain to quiet the Cubs.
