A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

1.78 ERA/.182 BA against

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 1, 2010

Those are the pitching staff numbers for September–and that includes the 10-run Zits game in Colorado. Truly amazing and probably the best month of pitching by a staff ever (Elias?)…..

After the Yankees clinched a playoff spot, my daughter’s grandpa, a diehard Yankee fan, barely cleared his throat in celebration. “They’re playing horrible, we’ll win nothing this year,” he grumbled. After I told him that if the Giants make the playoffs I was going to die my hair black and party like it’s 1999, he just stared at me with a confused look on his face…..

I cannot fathom the depth of the depression I will sink into if we lose 4 straight to the Padres right now…….

There’s plenty of pressure on everybody anyway. This was Bochy’s worst mistake of the year.

Yeah, and didn’t he try to say it was for aligning the playoff rotation? But that doesn’t start until Thursday?

the entire staff made the decision.

hindsight is always 20/20….like you said about zito…if Cain got lit up tonight, what makes you think he wouldn’rt have tomorrow?

Make no mistake … they hit the ball well enough to have a few runs. But Cain’s approach was unexplainable and his execution horrendous. Looked like he had never seen these guys before.

I think Ross starting for Guillen tomorrow is a given. Need to get Orson Welles back in there. He was heatin’ up. 1 fer 3 (HR) and a couple walks vs frozen lasagna. Need the little fat guy back in there. Wouldn’t be right to celebrate without him out there anyway.

    • TellItGoodbye's avatar TellItGoodbye said, on October 1, 2010 at 9:17 pm

Why is it a given? Guillen has stunk for at least 3 years and is a cripple, and it hasn’t mattered so far.

Another annoying stat: Richard’s ERA against the rest of the league: 4.23.

James mentioned penalizing Torres for his OPB going down. Fair enough, but Huff has 6 HR 20 RBI the last two months… Torres, the lead off hitter, has 6 HR 20 RBI the last two months and he missed two weeks..

Written in the voice of Richard Burton:
Friends, Flappers, Countrymen, lend me your…eyes
I come to bury the Padres, not praise them.
The evil that men do lives after them. The good iis often interred with their bones. The noble Padres feel ambitious. If it were so, it is a grievous fault.
    Fuck ’em!
Come I to…type of the inevitable division winning of the Giants.
But here I am to type what I *do* know.
You all did love the Giants once-not without cause. What cause withholds you, then, to love the Giants now?
Matt Cain was robbed of a perfect birthday gift.
But trusteth in the Zito. Logic fails my common sense. But my ill hernia sayeth…
The Giants shalt division title win.
No fucking way they lose 4 in a row!!!!!!!!!
