A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Game Time

Have some problems with this morning’s post so I started a new thread. We could easily go 2-0 here, I almost think we’re a favorite tonight (despite being +153)

The goddamn AccuScore Projections over at ESPN only gives us a 34% of winning tonight.
Well they can take 100% of my foot up their ass. Screw their projections. Go Dirrrty!

But our lineup still sucks Chef’s Chocolate Salty Balls. With NO Whitey of course.

+152 now Flav. I liked us at +153, but 152 isn’t enough. What happened to my 3/5 shot at Keeneland today?

  2. Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:18 pm

Denny, just invert those national polls, those fuckers don’t have a clue about this team or this series. The only reason the Phillies are this TOTAL LOCK is because they have some name players. Names don’t win games, teams do………

  3. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:18 pm

    C’mon, Torres. Catch fire tonight.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:22 pm

Next AB. I hope. Boy, he sure was late on those fastballs.

  4. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:20 pm

Giants own a 13-9 record in the NLCS. Won 9 of the last 11, including 3 straight, and 4 of the last 5 on the road.

I like those numbers. Pressure has to be on the Phillies tonight. They sure the hell don’t want to be staring at an 0-2 coming out west. Get our top of the order going, and keep theirs off, especially Victorino. He’s the only one who hurts Sanchez.

Go Giants! Score first, score often and WIN goddammit!

  5. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:20 pm

I like how Fox basically said tonight’s national anthem will be sung by a brass band.

  6. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:21 pm

Torres needs a bigger bat. He ought to walk up there with a telephone pole.

  8. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:23 pm

Uh, no, Fox. Uribe has been crap for the last month. Rent is an upgrade at the moment.

Zoom– classic, lol. Doesn’t he look about 2 seconds late with that 37 ouncer?

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:29 pm

He’s been swinging like he just downed a 40 oz.

  10. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:26 pm

I really hope our offense gets going in this series. We have a World Series caliber pitching staff.

  11. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:27 pm

Made fast work of Shane. Dirrrty throws strikes, we’re all good.

I’ll take 4 runs again tonight. And I think they can score off of Ozwalt. Key is Sanchez. Keep em down early.

  14. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:31 pm

Phils obviously taking one until Sanchee throws strike 1. Need to pound the zone early and get ahead in the count.

  18. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:49 pm

Damm 35 pitch inning OUCH! Lucky to keep it to one run. Mistakes besides wildness and Font error.Sanchez needed to pause and keep Utley from getting a walking start on that steal.

  19. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:49 pm

Dirrrty got squeezed on that 3-1 pitch to Rollins. But goddamn, it’s perfectly clear that the Phils won’t swing until he throws strike 1. Walk the sumbitch up if ya have to, but get strike 1.

Rollins was 1-16 vs Dirrrty with NO Walks, or NO Whitey for that matter. Let’s get that run back.

  20. PawlieKokonuts's avatar PawlieKokonuts said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:52 pm

Let’s hope Oswalt Zitos the inning and Posey postulates a penchant for salubrious slugging and Ross codifies crisp climactic celebration.

I mentioned this morning how windy it was when I watched the Falcons play the Eagles in Philly. Doesn’t look like it’s changed. That ball by Buster should have been routine, and Burrell’s ball got blown back in. We’re gonna need to pop a few tonight because we all know, “if we don’t homer, we don’t score.”

  22. Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on October 17, 2010 at 5:59 pm

This ump seems to be making up the strike zone as he goes along.

  23. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:01 pm

Can we get a home plate ump that isn’t a POS at calling balls/strikes? That last pitch called strike 3 for Oswalt was LOWER than Sanchee’s called ball that walked in the run…

  24. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:03 pm

  26. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:05 pm

5 times better on the pitch count that inning..only 7,that will hopefully settle Dirty down.

  27. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:11 pm

Man Torres looks like shit up there.Totally overmatched and way late on the swing.Time to go with an Eckstein model bat.

  28. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:11 pm

Torres = automatic out for the post season. I swear, he should try to bunt every time, he’d probably pull one off for a hit, that’s better than what he’s doing. He looks clueless. He keeps swinging at that high shit off the plate, can’t handle it. And he’s better LHed…

  29. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:13 pm

Rowand will start game 3. That’s a lock.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:19 pm

I guess move Ross up to lead off, and Rowand to 8th. Or 7th, I want to see Mr. Welles play Tuesday, so he should bat 8th, and Rowand 7th. Book it!

      • zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:20 pm

Sanchy is hanging tough. If not for the Font error and a couple of weird homeplate ump calls, he’d still have a shutout.

  32. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:22 pm

Hey, Bozo. Can ya believe that Roy Oswalt is pitching a no-hit, no-run game thus far? I said that’s NO runs or NO hits or NO Whitey.

  33. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:24 pm

Dennis my guess is Orson won’t start against Hamels the lefty. If Uribe can go he’ll play 3rd with Rent at SS.Rohand will start for Torres for sure though.

Let the pitcher catch the goddamn ball!

  42. PawlieKokonuts's avatar PawlieKokonuts said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:37 pm

here’s how wretched the HP ump is: did you see OSWALT WALK AWAY KNOWING IT WAS STRIKE 3 — just as Dirrrty knew it too? !

  44. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Both Oswalt and Sanchez thought that was strike 3. Fuck Dan Iassogna. He’s just as bad or if not worse than last night’s asshole, Cousins. The balls and strikes calls have been nothing short of an embarrassment.

  45. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:40 pm

Howinhell does this moron ump and last night Cousins make the NLCS? They can’t call a damn strike if it bites ’em on the ass. When you call a ball, as the pitcher walks off and the batter starts walking into his dugout, you know you are calling a POS game…

  46. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 17, 2010 at 6:41 pm

  65. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 17, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Shit, that didn’t last long. Some great situational hitting there by the Phils. Wish we could do that, we stink at getting runners over or home from third w < 2 outs.

Victorino is without doubt my least favorite Philly. A pox on him and his house.

SOB. Oswalt gets a goddamn hit. Why no dive from Torres? He didn’t try to steal last night. He is completely lost in every aspect of the game. If he’s still hurting from the surgery, sit ’em down. If it’s just a plain old slump, sit ’em down.

C’mon pen. Shut these guys down. Give us a chance in the 8th. Maybe Oswalt running the bags will help us out.
