A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Best. Game. Ever.

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 21, 2010

ROY with 4 hits……….Rowand’s throw……Posey’s catch…..Panda double…..A lead……A lost lead……A lead…..A lost lead……Uribe….it doesn’t sound so hot when I write it like that but my God, what a game. And Pablo at 2nd base, clapping so hard I thought his hands might shatter, had me fighting back tears as I thought about the season he’s endured. As far as I’m concerned, that single at bat shed him of his burdensome nickname, “Pablo Strands’em-all”…..

There’s a perfect symmetry to the date “10/20/10”. And from the beginning to the end, that’s what this game felt like. For every perfect thing that happened last night there was an imperfect thing that happened. But the end result was this: I don’t need to ever watch that game again. Every play is burned into my brain. My memory. My soul. It was the absolute blend of glory and destiny. I can’t stop shaking me head and smiling…….

That play was fucked up beyond description. Son of a fuck. Huff blew that one.
This inning is all fucked up.

Fuck what a total messed up inning. That was a foul ball on Hallday’s bunt.Should have been reviewed. Then Pablo should have been on the bag,and they have a DP.Then Huff’s ole for the 2runs.When there should have been none.

  3. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 21, 2010 at 5:47 pm

That shit was on Timmy. Hung that one right there. LIMIT the shit right now.

Total clusterfuck inning. Pablo can’t move his big ass backwards to tag the bag, then Huff muffs it. Unreal….

Tiim has to settle down NOW. They can get a couple off Halladay but not a bunch.

Time to knock Halladay around and out…

  9. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on October 21, 2010 at 5:57 pm

Best we can say is that Timmy finally settled and the damage was not quite maximized. Getting that K on Howard was the key.

  10. twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:04 pm

They’re hitting Halladay pretty hard with not anything to show for it. Let’s hope he’s off and not getting ready to settle in.

  11. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:06 pm

Bochy needed to get his ass out of the dugout and argue that bunt play.Just cause Posey didn’t say anything, shouldn’t stop you from getting in the ump’s face, and maybe get a review, which would have reversed the play and change the inning.

  12. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:08 pm

We have to get to Doc. The pitch count means nearly nothing tonight with him. He’s not gonna pitch after this, Unca_Charlie will let ’em go 130 tonight no prob.

  21. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:20 pm

Shit no reason to test Werth’s arm when your already in scoring position.Bad play by Ross, making the 3rd out at 3rd.

  22. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:20 pm

May I ask why Ross is doing that, since he’s already in scoring position, now two outs anyway, and Uribe coming up? That was dumb…

  23. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:20 pm

Now its a matter of grinding it out and Timmy maintaining focus. Pitch count is almost identical. That one-run difference is a helluva lot smaller than the two.

  24. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 21, 2010 at 6:22 pm

I agree. First, it would be unusual and difficult for any catcher to get anyone out at third on that “bunt”; second, Pablo had to back up blind. Tough play. Lucky we got one out on it. In fact, while we were down 3-2 most of the game, we played awesome to keep it that way most of the game. It could easily have been 6-2. Truth told, I’m glum, but hope to perk up by Saturday. I’ll be at the ballet in Philly. That might be good for me. Frankly, I often don’t do what’s good for me. My poor daughter, 13, took this harder than me tonight, staying up late too. Sort of forced me to tell her it’s okay, we’ll all right. But she has seen me before in circumstances like this. Why’s it have to be such fecking torture?
