A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Fan Fest and the Super Bowl Winner

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on February 6, 2011

It was so great to see the pictures of all the fans and players rockin’ it at ATT. My dad went a couple of years ago and said that when he arrived he wasn’t sure that it was the right day there were so few people there…..Now THAT was Brian Wilson at his best. Referring to his beard,  “it’s dark, it’s tan, it’s ready”— classic Wilson. And I’ve got no idea if he actually did run 700 miles this off season but I can totally picture him saying it with ultimate conviction in his voice. That’s the Wilson I like, not the dude dressing up like a fool and making veiled references to having sex with prostitutes in Thailand……

Ok, to the Super Bowl. I said 2 weeks ago that I was in alliance with Kawakami in believing that Green Bay would win today. Since I can’t stand him, I spent the last 2 weeks trying to find a reason to not go along with that. And I think I’ve finally gotten there. Pittsburgh will win today by 6 points or so. Their defensive coordinator is just too good to give 2 weeks of prep time to. He will design something that exposes Green Bay’s one dimensional offense and keep Rodgers contained. Meanwhile, Rothlisberger will do just enough to earn him his already given nickname of “Big Game Ben”…..

ps, I also like the under a lot…….

Flav, that’s why sportsbook’s are plush and verdant establishments. It’s because of people like you and I who hold a difference of opinion — they can’t lose. You like the Steelers and the UNDER, I’m on the Pack and the OVER. I also like Rodgers OVER 281 1/2 yds passing quite a bit. Nobody runs on the Steel Curtain. I think the Packers and McCarthy are smart enough to not even bother to try. Throw the damn ball every snap.

I’m still working on whether or not Christina Aguilera can go OVER 6 secs on the “Brave” note during our National Anthem. But sources close to me say she gets lots of practice keeping her mouth open for extended periods of time.

Denny you’re making my point but not joining my fellowship. Gb can’t run and won’t try. Pitt knows this and will drop a lb back into coverage and/0r add another db. they’re going to have a lot of trouble scoring offensive td’s today

At least Dennis describes an entertaining game. If Rodgers doesn’t dazzle, the whole thing might as well be a regular season game between two good teams I don’t give a shit about. Btw, how many years do you think it’ll be before you can take the over on concussions the teams create by smashing each other’s heads into the verdant plastic NFL turf. Maybe I’m just getting old, but the number of injuries in pro football games is starting to bother me. The effluvium of mortality rises from every game. I’m not gonna bother to compose a sentence using abscond.

You got a bonus pt from me for using effluvium, counselor. It’s probably best you don’t use abscond. You wouldn’t want to out a client of yours who’s trying to ditch the law. And if you’re hoping for an entertaining game, Rodgers and Roethlisberger best not show any ambisinister tendencies. I don’t want Super Bowl XLV to turn into a fumble-fest.

When I had to look up ambisinister in the dictionary, there was a picture of Alex Smith.

        yep. And ambidexter? Joe Montana.

“The effluvium of mortality:” And to think those greedy owners want an 18-game season.

Since verdant seems to be the word of the day, I’ll take the Pack, 33-28.

    Packers 38-27

Christina Aguilera botched the lyrics to our National Anthem. I clocked her at exactly 1:54 and 727/1000ths seconds. But I’m smelling refund on that shit. Stoopid bitch forgets the lyrics. That’s not a venial sin, we’re talking mortal.

And Jordy Nelson just let’s a perfect pass from Rodgers go through his hands.
Bad day so far for the white people.

    Early thoughts:

    Doritos — loser
    Pepsi Max — winner
    Bud Light — meh

That Doritos licking the fingers crap was creepier than hell. I’d fire that ad exec.

Yeah these commercials blow – Pepsi Max was good & the one with the monkeys was alright – you can’t go wrong with nutty-ass monkeys.

Love that 3rd and 1 call — go for the throat. Great throw by Rodgers and Nelson redeems himself for the earlier miss.

Did Fergie pen the whoa whoa whoa part? Totally fucking lame. Bring back the Stones.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on February 6, 2011 at 5:32 pm

Ditto. And those outfits were god awful. Leather and lights? Reminded me of Tron.
If you’re gonna trot out Fergie, you gotta show more skin than that. Largest SB comeback was 10 pts. Packers led by 18. Game Over.

I probably just put the biggest jinx on the Pack in the history of the world.
I’ll be getting call from Wisconsin for days on end if they blow it.

James Jones just dropped a long TD. My jinx is already in full effect.
Now there’s go a 15 yd personal foul. You guys probably think I’m crazy, but I just fuck the Packers real good with my jinx.

Nice to see the finesse team win. Are we going to have one of those again in SF?

Good game. Worst commercials ever. Extremely lame half-time show.

Speaking of commercials….here’s an insane commercial from the 1960s:
