A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

How Bloggers Find Their Way to The Flap

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on February 13, 2011

I’m assuming that many of you have dutifully bookmarked The Flap. We are never more than a mouse click away from you. But other less committed bloggers probably don’t bookmark us and might be actually typing the blog address into the address bar. The same people are probably still listening to cd’s and mailing actual letters via the mail. But I digress….

Then there is the group of bloggers who find their way to The Flap by mistake or who find us randomly during a search for something else. We all do it, we want an answer to a question and we go straight to google and type in some of the key words that we think will get us the answer we are looking for. There are a lot of things I don’t like about wordpress.com but one of their super cool features is listing off all of the key words that people use in search engines that ultimately lead them to The Flap. There are literally THOUSANDS of different search words people have used. Most of them, as you would expect, are “oneflapdown77” or “The Flap”, things that have something to do with the blog. But the list is long, I mean REALLY long, and there are some pretty funny search engine terms used that have brought bloggers here, even if it was only for a quick visit before they find this isn’t what they’re looking for. Here’s a partial list of the funniest search terms used. Enjoy:

tyler walker + sf giants blog + sweaty
roy halladay is the man
sandoval fat sf
why is pablo sandoval so fat?
is it hmmm or hummm baby? giants
damon bruce pound it
giants pitching is unreliable
how much fat should you have each day water buffalo on the sf giants
zito cursed
two flaps down
what does the panda head mean at sf giants
wht are san francisco fans wearing panda heads
pat burrell asshole
you’re fucking pat burrell
I want to fuck Pat Burrell
naked pics of sf giants players
sf giants beards real or fake
warren g. giles eli whiteside
why fans say gyros when talking about the sf giants
unwritten rules for raider fans
marty lurie is an idiot
stick fork giants 2010
san francisco giants “stick a fork”
stick a fork in the giants
those idiots (giants) just might pull it off
Anyway, just a little humor to pass the time as we sit on the cusp of the beginning of the 2011 season. And yes, for the die hards, the season begins tomorrow……..

You *must* have made some of these up.
Perfect Days Till Pitchers and Catchers Report picture.
But when you think about it…was there really any other choice.
I’m a loyal Flapper but *I* haven’t bookmarked it. I haven’t bookmarked anything. I get a kick out of going to Google and slowly typing o-n-e-f-l and seeing what else comes up.
And yes, I still listen to cd’s and though I don’t mail actual letters via the mail, I still pay my bills that way. I enjoy balancing my checkbook. The logic of the float makes me happy. But I digress….

Yes. Perfect pic for number one. Lincecum’s performance in game 5 was, for me, the greatest delight of the post season. I really wasn’t sure he had enough strength left to get it done. But he did. And so the team raised him high to celebrate. (If it had been Cain, they probably wouldn’t’ve tried.)

I see that your list omitted “fuckwad.” Maybe that’s a good sign, who knows.

Ted– every single one of those were nothing more than me cutting and pasting them into the post. My favorite was “Is it hmmmmm or hummm baby”. I also like the guy who wondered if the Giants beards were fake or real….

Lincecum’s horrendous mustache wasn’t on the list? The hair doesn’t bug me but man that thing is pathetic.

Last i checked, Alex Smith was the most researched ”Alex” on Google…
“Vern and Vera” were the most desirable parent’s names..
    “Is Jack really crabby?” QOTD

I wonder how many people search for “elephant ear” and giants. Krukow used to get a kick out of having the camera zoom in on base runners that had a back pocket hanging out of their pants.

wow I always thought one flap down had to do with the batting helmets having only one ear hole. But apparently this article has two other explanations for one flap down

I’m sure most of you saw this somewhere. The US shut down a lot of websites that were streaming live sports right before the Super Bowl. I used adhte.net a lot. Not sure if kostaz will be shut down on Justin.tv – I watched many Giants’ games there last year. I think peer-to-peer broadcasting is unaffected though since I can still get delayed NBA & NHL games on myp2p.com via stream torrent. Just an FYI for those interested.

Of all the national media, the Giants get the most love from the MLB network. They picked Posey as the second-best catcher in MLB, second only to Mauer.

It’s kind of funny seeing the film footage from the ’80s on MLB network. Those tight uniforms and so many of the players with mustaches.

Those 80’s ballplayers were darling gay caricatures….a dozen Giants in a Folsom Street bar, no one would blink an eye
