The Showtime Documentary
I just finally had the chance to watch the trailer clip of “The Franchise”– 34 minutes long. I’ll tell ya, the only thing I didn’t like about that was the name of the show. It makes it sound like it’s all about Timmy and based on the trailer it’s about a lot more than one guy. Man, I watched that Kroon clip 3 times. What a guy and what a story it would be if he ever made it to the club…..
There were things I learned, I had no idea Franchez married his high school sweetheart (I think Belt did, too). 1700 people went to my high school and I think 2 couples got married that are still together. Huff and Wilson were hilarious. And what was up with that Torres workout? I’m down with the old school turn-your-backyard-into-your-gym-thing but my man, working out in the long jeans shorts? That’s a bad look……
the trailer did it’s job for me, I won’t miss an episode when it finally starts to air…….

The Giants are the virtual blueprint for a team that will hit into a lot of DPs. Lots of RH pull hiters witrh average or below average speed. If you’re not already, get used to it.
4 1/3 superb from Mota. Let’s scratch out a run or two this inning. Dude deserves a W for his effort.
Mota sure came on strong. Nice.
willied: Actually 7 GIDP on 5/4/69…

The AZ broadcasters mentioned it.
Jon Miller went into the record in some detail on the radio side.
Hey, now there was a grounder that found the 5-6 hole and scored two runs. Luck of the bounce.
yeah, i remember watching that game as a HS kid. thx
That this utter piece of shit Saunders is still in the game is truly a marvel.
Tornado supposedly coming, gotta go.
GO GIANTS
AUNTIE EM!!! UNCLE HENRY!!!
Be safe clown
Hey Bozo, take care and be safe.
Gonna let Saunders pitch to Rowand? Well, he pitched around him. Time for Fruckie to clutch up.
I’m really not sure why Gibson took Saunders out. The decision seems completely arbitrary.
First rule of PR, don’t get picked off. Ford just gave Bochy a reason not to play him…
Not just Puerto Rico; here, too.
Loo practicing for his standup at Grossingers.
FRUCKIE! ! !
Way to go. Mr. Hollywood!
Sad to say, Zito getting injured gave the Giants a better chance to win today.
5 games from now, too.
Runt Power Two.
That was a DP grounder with one out or less. Fruckie was lucky.
Franchez clutch again tonight…
5 DP grounders, Fruckie’s hit was the worst struck ball. Not knocking him, just pointing the fickleness of the game…
Is Runzler in Bochy’s doghouse? Here’s Affeldt. Groundball pitcher, of course.
Saunders performance was beginning to remind me of this horrific game authored by one Ken Frailing:

Wow! A 15-hitter! Only 9 LOB?
Yeah, the G-Men managed to be “clutch” with RISP, a CS, and 3 DPs. I started on an ulcer that day, age 15.
That speed sure does look good in CF.
Ford looks smooth out there. If he learns to wear a cap right I might like him.
The other aspects of his game were not stellar tonight. (grin)
No doubt he was a mess on the bases and blown away in that AB but he sure glides in the outfield.
Is Drew a FA after this year?
Remember this one, James?
http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN196806150.shtml
Year one was ’71 . . . had I known, I might have handled the Frailing game a bit better.
it’s possible I was there
Bloomquist is obviously a Guns ‘N Roses fanatic…
Romo = Nasty. What a performance by Mota, Affeldt and Romo.
The kid has a great eye and excellent discipline. The hits will come.
Belt’s eye at the plate is a hell of lot more impressive than Ford’s speed.
did you see Ashkon sitting in the dugout in “The Franchise”; ok, Willie, wrap it up.
the 2-2 is the one Nate swings at that hits him in the foot. I’d keep the kid and figure out the OF and where he plays later. He’s a better hitter than a lot of guys already here, imo.
James: Beat me to the punch. VERY selective hitter. Looked nice on the followthrough on his long foul. Whether or not he goes down to Fresno any time soon, he’s clearly a keeper. I still like the notion of him batting in the two-hole.
Ballgame!
Swing and Amish! Giants win!
nice win
happy for Mota
sort of haiku
Arizona heat
bulllpen doesn’t miss a beat
San Francisco treat
sort of haiku/crappy poem do show just what kind of foal I am.
POTG = Zito.
For having the decency to get injured early, before getting shelled…
Agreed.
Very professional looking team. Giants jell early this year. Still the problem with RISP, particularly the DP’s. Bullpen is amazing. Wilson looks to have turned another corner. He’s gone killer. Franchez is the secret weapon. Everyone looks to the middle of the lineup for major production, but that Runt is clutch. For as young as he is, Posey is already a master of his craft. Incredible baseball instincts. When Rowand is on, he looks like a $12M man. We need not talk about when he is not on. Been there. Done that.
Pitching matchup for tomorrow looks favorable. About time that the Undertaker settles down. That happens and the brooms are out. In any event, SF has won its last 3 series. They started out one and three. Since then they’ve been 7-3. Know what? I got a sneaking suspicion this may end up being a winning roadtrip.
Cubs poundiing the Rockettes 8-3.
schulman tweets bochy acknowledges Z. might miss next start. Would be the first time ever for Z. missing a start … due to injury. He’s missed plenty of starts due to lack of ability.
That injury to Zito looked about as legit as Rodney Dangerfield’s wrist injury in Caddyshack. (Not that I’m complaining)
“Hey Sabu, can you make a bullshot?”
“Can you make a shoe smell?”
“”You’re a funny kid, you know… Hey, what time are you due back in Boys Town?”
Missed the game but if it went…….
1) Zito sucking balls (shocker)
2) ZIto getting a minor injury and leaving
3) Giants win…..
I can dig it……
I have no idea what the Giants do with Brandon Belt. All the OF’s are hitting or getting healthy and that’s a bad sign for a guy looking to hang on……..
Don’t tell Mr. Dodger (AKA Dennis), but one of his FL players, Kershaw is getting “lit up” by the Cardinals . . . OH OH!
4 2/3 6H 5ER 5W — that’s ugly for Zito let alone Kershaw. No need for me to worry, I have Barbara going tomorrow. Time to put the Beaver to bed. And add the Sharks while we’re at it. God do they blow tonight. Even an Eddie Haskell phony compliment couldn’t sugarcoat their stench.
Happy Birthday, Bruce! I’m sure it was satisfying. 56 is a magic number. Enjoy.
Yeah, I’ve watched the replay on Zito getting injured from a bunch of angles on MLB.com. I don’t see much there, especially on his right foot. Nobody else of the starters come out, IMO…
It’s Magic Inside
Thirty-TWO pitches in the First. Ughh! And with the bullpen all stretched (except for Runzler). Hitters better provide some margin. Pronto.
