A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

The Showtime Documentary

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 16, 2011

I just finally had the chance to watch the trailer clip of “The Franchise”– 34 minutes long. I’ll tell ya, the only thing I didn’t like about that was the name of the show. It makes it sound like it’s all about Timmy and based on the trailer it’s about a lot more than one guy. Man, I watched that Kroon clip 3 times. What a guy and what a story it would be if he ever made it to the club…..

There were things I learned, I had no idea Franchez married his high school sweetheart (I think Belt did, too). 1700 people went to my high school and I think 2 couples got married that are still together. Huff and Wilson were hilarious. And what was up with that Torres workout? I’m down with the old school turn-your-backyard-into-your-gym-thing but my man, working out in the long jeans shorts? That’s a bad look……

the trailer did it’s job for me, I won’t miss an episode when it finally starts to air…….

The Giants are the virtual blueprint for a team that will hit into a lot of DPs. Lots of RH pull hiters witrh average or below average speed. If you’re not already, get used to it.

4 1/3 superb from Mota. Let’s scratch out a run or two this inning. Dude deserves a W for his effort.

Jon Miller went into the record in some detail on the radio side.
Hey, now there was a grounder that found the 5-6 hole and scored two runs. Luck of the bounce.

Gonna let Saunders pitch to Rowand? Well, he pitched around him. Time for Fruckie to clutch up.

I’m really not sure why Gibson took Saunders out. The decision seems completely arbitrary.

the 2-2 is the one Nate swings at that hits him in the foot. I’d keep the kid and figure out the OF and where he plays later. He’s a better hitter than a lot of guys already here, imo.

  29. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on April 16, 2011 at 7:50 pm

James: Beat me to the punch. VERY selective hitter. Looked nice on the followthrough on his long foul. Whether or not he goes down to Fresno any time soon, he’s clearly a keeper. I still like the notion of him batting in the two-hole.

  34. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on April 16, 2011 at 8:05 pm

Very professional looking team. Giants jell early this year. Still the problem with RISP, particularly the DP’s. Bullpen is amazing. Wilson looks to have turned another corner. He’s gone killer. Franchez is the secret weapon. Everyone looks to the middle of the lineup for major production, but that Runt is clutch. For as young as he is, Posey is already a master of his craft. Incredible baseball instincts. When Rowand is on, he looks like a $12M man. We need not talk about when he is not on. Been there. Done that.

Pitching matchup for tomorrow looks favorable. About time that the Undertaker settles down. That happens and the brooms are out. In any event, SF has won its last 3 series. They started out one and three. Since then they’ve been 7-3. Know what? I got a sneaking suspicion this may end up being a winning roadtrip.

Missed the game but if it went…….
    1) Zito sucking balls (shocker)
    2) ZIto getting a minor injury and leaving
    3) Giants win…..
    I can dig it……
I have no idea what the Giants do with Brandon Belt. All the OF’s are hitting or getting healthy and that’s a bad sign for a guy looking to hang on……..

4 2/3 6H 5ER 5W — that’s ugly for Zito let alone Kershaw. No need for me to worry, I have Barbara going tomorrow. Time to put the Beaver to bed. And add the Sharks while we’re at it. God do they blow tonight. Even an Eddie Haskell phony compliment couldn’t sugarcoat their stench.
