So, Milwaukee actually isn’t very Good……
Kidding, but I didn’t see either of the weekend games so I’m not qualified to comment on them. The box scores suggest our usual blue print for victory. After all the back and forth talk about who our team MVP is I think it’s not a single person. And no, I’m not going with the *team* nomination. It really is our bullpen. There isn’t another team in either league that comes close to the quality our bullpen. Atlanta? Sure, Venters and Kimbrel are great. That’s 2 guys. We have SEVEN (7!) arms that get called on and they almost always perform. And I credit Bochy, Raggs and Gardner for a lot of it. There are definitely some castoffs on that staff. But Bochy is as master and using them and whatever Raggs and Gardner are selling, they are buying…….
I just read Kawakami’s blog about Sabean saying “this LU needs a lot of help” and how we would likely lose to the Phillies in the playoffs. That was encouraging to see his correct take on the reality of this team. But when he says that we have “3 or 4 prospects” that he will not trade, he’s closing the door a little on getting a deal done. He could stack the LU full of “Keppinger’s”, that ain’t gonna get it done……
Sorry I was out for a few days, I’ll keep the blog running a little better from here on out……..
The Flap Fantasy Baseball Standings
(Pawlie free falls, No Talent takes the reigns at the top, and BB’s learns there’s more to just waiving Aubrey Huff if you want to dance with the big boys)

Projected 94 wins on current pace, 89 wins if they play .500 ball from here on out. Big road trip followed by big home stand. It will be fun to see what happens, great time to be a Giants fan.
94. just like i predicted!
hey, it’s a great time to be an A’s fan now, too. This time of year is THEIR TIME! What will the great Billy Beane do this year????? I can only half way joke about them, I picked them to win the AL West. Oops…..
The A’s right up there with the Dodgers in my world. I don’t like it that injuries are what did them in, though.
Great job, Flavor. You shouldn’t worry about taking time off.
Brewers sometimes looked like a team completing a long road trip with some dunderhead play, but are probably as their record indicates, a dangerous team but one that makes critical mistakes. Like Yogi said, 90 percent of the game is half mental.
They are also probably need more pitching.
-The Giants’ bullpen has an 0.28 ERA since the All-Star break. On the team’s recently completed six-game homestand, Giants relievers allowed only one hit in 13 2/3 shutout innings.
– Nate is hitting .354 with eight doubles, three homers and 16 RBIs in his last 26 games.
Absolutely about the pen. Statistically I don’t know exactly how they rank in the league or overall, but I don’t even care about the other teams’ relief stats, knowing how good our pen is. There is the occasional meltdown that brings out the trolls on the Splash, but man, tremendous. How sweet is it to have a starting rotation like this one, also knowing there’s a great bullpen just waiting. I want the team to get another bat for the post-season, but I still really enjoy how this team wins games.
Also absolutely about Bochy. “They” always said he managed bullpens well, look at his days in San Diego, where it was his strength, but they also said having Hoffman made it easy for him. Who cares. If having Wilson makes it easy for him, go for it. He’s been a master of a manager for the past couple of years now, starting in late summer of ’09 here. He’d been dealt a lousy hand his first year or two.
Uh, Phillies up next. Cool.
like happens to a lot of teams, Sf pitching at home shut down about everyone not named Braun, and Romo got him out late game two days in a row. SF offense did just enough to win….all you need.
Contrast, watched Braves pen guy throw one pitch bottom of ninth for a walk off HR in Cincy last night. And those pesky Pads gave Philly all they could handle back there over the weekend.
Sabes says 2 or 3 prospects are off limits, and grouses about not being close to getting Beltran (or another upgrade) yet, with no help at SS or C either.
Alderson has dumped off Castillo, Oliver Perez (ruining Loo’s zito trade), and K-Rod. Their pitching numbers for the big yard they play in are not that great, and in a division with Braves and Phils. With return of Wright plus Reyes and some young promising guys, it’s got to be pitching they are after. What would you do if you were Sabes?
F Beane. Read something today about Matsui: he has hit 32 pct of his HRs in america off lefties, the highest pct. in baseball, including 7 of the 8 he has hit this year. Dumbfuck Geren sat him vs. lefties all year, including when they played here, and refused to put him in the OF.
Passan argues G’s should go all in because of the “window” with the pitching. Interesting that Sabean also said that was a consideration. Who are the 3 or 4 untouchables?
Wheeler with a rough outing Sat. 5i, 10 h, 5 r
-5??? Ouch. I took a flier on Ross hoping he’d get hot, but nada…………………………………
Do the Giants secretly regard Surkamp a tad more than Wheeler? I thought he was a Woody Rueter-type. Whatever he is, I think Surkamp is now the AA leader in ERA (2.00) for Richmond. Wheeler for Beltran and let your bitching and moaning begin…
That wasn’t a bad little lineup yesterday, other than the catcher spot. Mix in Ross in a 4-outfielder rotation. Give Crawford the occasional start at shortstop. Give Rowand lots of bench time.
Something’s gotta happen at the catcher position, though. Right now, it’s like having another pitcher in the batting order.
whitey let a few bounce off his mitt, too. Happens a lot with him behind the plate. Still not a lot out there yet, tho. Agree on the LU too. Ross can play anywhere and give Torres/Nate a day off. Less Rowand, the better.
Where’s the Player of the Game photo? I thought it was a slamdunk it would be MadBum.
I didn’t see the game but if you’d like, I can slap him up there.
If both the Giants Catchers are bad, why is Bochy platooning them? obviousely I could not be a manager, just look at my Fantasy team. But seriousely why not stick with one??
The Giants are hoping one of them will become clearly better than the other. We do know that Lincecum prefers Stewart, and he’s become Lincecum’s regular catcher.
Xoot, how about a photo op of the goods? Crowd shots showed mostly all black brims.
Shop next to where I work sells hats, from mens Stetsons to Ladies Derby style. Fedoras are a cool look, and quite a hit with younger crowd, even the ladies, like in the commercial the Giants run.
The Giants are doing some very smart marketing with those commercials. They know the guys will already be interested in the Giants, and now they’re going after more young women fans by marketing the Giants as cool matinee-idol types, with a sensitive side. And Comcast is helping by finding all those signs in the crowd where women are professing their love of a certain player, and offers of marriage. Those signs are probably a little grating to the players’ wives, though.
Bumgarner
Prom?
a classic.
Maybe I’ll put the thing on when I get home and have a pic taken. BF can decide what to do with it.
I’m sure the Mets would gladly include Paulino (the 5 minute Giant) in a Beltran package…
Who wants him?
Fun games.
DMD, I think you’re right about Surkamp being a Woody style guy, not sure where he rates next to Wheeler in the front office. Nobody talks about that kid Westcott I wonder where the Giants rank him. Don’t know if you’d have to trade Wheeler to get Beltran (although, I might just do that trade). Otero might be a good fit, throw in a Verdugo or Stoffel if needed I guess. Besides pitching, the Mets are going to need position players after they trade everyone (I wonder if Reyes is really on the market) so we can always throw in a Pill or Noonan.
OK, play ball.
Bozo, Can’t throw in a Stoffel. He went for Keppinger.
Doh!
According to Dan Rathman (CBS Sports) Braves acquire Josh Willingham for prospects.
That leaves us and Philly for Beltran.
It’ll be very interesting to see who they game up for him. In some ways, the Braves should give up more than another team should give up for Willy—Willy is cheaper (only owed another 2.7 mil this year), plus they get a draft pick Not sure if he’s an *A* class or not) and he will give you in the neighborhood of what Beltran will give you the rest of the way…..
I can’t confirm that Willingham trade anywhere else. It was posted on the same site (rotoinfo.com) that gives out the lineups. Maybe they’re 3-4 hours ahead of time like they are with the daily lineups…
Who are Sabean’s 4 untouchables? Probably Belt, Wheeler, Brown and Peguero……
I was wondering about that. I think at one point he also said the players were not necessarily the ones that most people assumed. So you wonder if the ratings that the brass has internally are sometimes different then all the other ratings. You’d have to think internally some intangibles would be included in their assessments (attitude, mental make-up, whatever). It would be interesting to know.
Just saw this from mlbtr: “One team says Brian Sabean’s off-limits prospects are Zack Wheeler, Heath Hembree, and Gary Brown, along with Brandon Belt. That’d leave the team without any top 50 prospects to move, with Francisco Peguero and Ehire Adrianza in the next tier based on Baseball America’s preseason rankings.”
Didn’t see your post, RT
Obviously, this team *can* beat anytbody, including the Phils. Likely? Probably about as likely as last year….
If the 4 Craig lists are really untouchable, how are they getting Beltran?..I’m seeing as per MLBTR that the list is Brown, Wheeler, Heath Hembree, and Belt- that means they have no blue chippers to include( top 50 kids).
Willingham produce as much as Beltran? Two/three years ago, yeah…
Wheeler didn’t just have a tough outing, he hasn’t had a good year-with young prospects it’s not all about numbers, though. This isn’t a college pitcher like Timmy, he’s a fucking baby. But of all the names put out there, I think I’d part with Wheeler- a young pitcher like Zack actually making it through the land mines? Well, I think there are more Fopperts than Cains…
Another issue- where they really need the upgrade- catcher and a middle infielder, there don’t seem to be the players for that. So they’ll be upgrading where they’re not in that bad a shape, Not as bad as the stupid Garko deal, where they didn’t upgrade at all but if they get Beltran they’re still stuck with a light hitting or no hitting SS and two catchers who can’t hit…
Conclusion- I’d make my hard run at Cuddyer for second base, moving Keppinger to short. Crawford and Burriss go down for Hall and Miggy when they’re ready. Manny and Mudbug back up in September..
Sound thinking. You’re hired!
Any deal for Beltran should include Ronnie Paulino. Personally, i’d give up Wheeler before Surkamp. With his high strikeout ratio, it does not appear that the big lefty is a Woody type at all. However, if the EagerEmoter going to Atlanta is true, then its primarily down to SF and Phil for the Beltran sweepstakes. NY will deal with their NLE rivals, but would tend to be more demanding, like for a true blue-chipper and probably a B-B+ prospect for a bit of depth. Wheeler would be a lot to give up for Carlos, but if the teams throw in Paulino (who can hit but i know little about his defense) and Pill; then Giants address both middle of the LU and catcher needs. A team so constituted could afford modest offense at SS.
If you haven’t checked him out, Hembree is a 22 YO RH reliever with awesome K numbers- 84 in 48 IP, 2 years. He’s currently at Richmond and his heater is said to top off at 99 MPH..
Actually, anyone who gets Beltran is buying him at one of his highs— not the best move (but a classic FA approach from Sabean over his tenure). With the tentative emergence of Belt, I think we can get away with our outfield as-is, assuming Nate keeps playing the way he’s playing. Last year, Beltran was in the mid 700’s for his OPS. He’s over .900 this year. Willingham was .858 last year and has missed time this year to a bad leg. Assuming both stay healthy for the rest of the year (highly unlikely) I see them putting up similar numbers the rest of the way—Willy with more HR’s, beltran with a better batting average…..
Well, if that list is correct and Sabean can’t trade Peguero for Beltran than it’s time to wave bye bye to that ship……
Hopefully Sabean just put that out there so he can appear to “give in” as the final negotiations run the course. I was at Sat nights game. The crowd “vib” at the game this year is amazing…Great to see Wilson get a 3 up 3 down save!!!
Here’s a more sophisticated Stat as to production, top 20 possibly available bats, by wOBA (
Weighted on-base average) . League average is about .330 .Here’s a link to a description of wOBA : http://tinyurl.com/3uworzc
1.Carlos Beltran – .394
2.Michael Cuddyer – .371
3.Aramis Ramirez – .370
4.Casey Kotchman – .367
5.Hunter Pence – .366
6.Mark Reynolds – .355
7.Marlon Byrd – .353
8.Michael Bourn – .352
9.Chris Iannetta – .349
10.Melky Cabrera – .349
11.Ty Wigginton – .340
12.Laynce Nix – .339
13.Carlos Pena – .339
14.Jeff Francoeur – .338
15.Denard Span – .337
16.Kosuke Fukudome – .336
17.Josh Willingham – .332
18.Colby Rasmus – .328
19.Johnny Damon – .328
20.Jonny Gomes – .328
I saw that list. I don’t like about half the names on that list. Fukudome? Mark Reynolds? Whatever. We’ll see. Assuming Willy gets out of Oakland, where all players go to die, I think Willy and Beltran will put up similar numbers the rest of the way…..
You don’t have to like the names, but those are the numbers. There might be some numbers that would be simiar to Beltran ( as you noted, HRs maybe). But that hardly maks him a comparable player. That’s a joke. Hell, Wily Mo hit 5 HR in less than 50 AB and got his ass released. IMO the best choice is Cuddyer because he’d play second base. The question whether Minnesota will sell. They’re right on the bubble.
How about 2 flaps up for Giovanni Ramirez? That dude has been sitting in jail, probably fully expecting to rot there for a crime he didn’t commit. And those 2 scum bags were probably high fiving themselves over the possibility of escaping justice. Whoops, think again fuckers. Who knows, maybe the prosecution has botched this one too…..
I think Snarkk intimated that rotting was cool because Ramirez was a “bad dude” anyway…
I didn’t spend any time determining his “badness” but I do think it was pretty fucked up for a government agency to be SO RIGHT about this guy that they throw him in jail only to find out later “oh, hey, our bad.” He’ll probably win a nice lawsuit….
Didja hear the one about the woman who was trying to walk her kids across a busy street in Ga? Jay walking, in other words? A drunk guy ran over and killed her 4 year old boy and didn’t bother stopping.
The drunk got 6 months, the mom may get 3 years.
Southern justice at it’s finest. Murder your kid and hide the body for 6 months? No prob. Yer free to go. Jay walk with terrible consequences? To the slammer . . . .
Similar to the old chestnut where the black man gets creamed in a crosswalk by a drunk white guy. Black man gets thrown 50 feet by the impact and gets cited for leaving the scene of an an accident.
ha, that’s funny I’ve never heard that one before….
Amy Winehouse dead at age 27 has brought out the The List of 27, some pretty impressive musicians died at that age, Rober Johnson, Jimi, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and the list goes on. Sad to die so young.
Kurt Cobain..
A*** S**** is 27. He could pass for a musician. He sure the hell can’t impersonate a quarterback.
He’ll probably make a good coach.
And to have so much talent
Hey Dennis, I just recieved and email from Jed York it is a letter to all 49er fans. just wondering if you received it. basically it covers the fact that a new CBA has been enacted, goes on to talk about Fan Fest in Aug and a link for a special word from Jim Harbaugh. So now we should find out just who is going to be the Niner QB. Your arch enemy A***S**** or someone from FA.
Pads hold on and finally beat the Phils, breaking a 10-game losing streak vs. Philly. Heading to the game tomorrow, Lincecum vs. Worley. It’s always great to catch Timmy in person, but I really wanted to see MadBum the way he’s been dealing lately, I’ve no doubt he would’ve shut down the Phils. Wish I could tell you something about Worley, but I really haven’t seen much of him. Nobody’s quite figured him out, though, and he’s given up just four runs over his last six starts. He’s from Sacto, so maybe someone here knows a little about him?
Just caught the presidential meeting a few minutes ago (it was streamed through MLB on sfgiants.com). Nothing particularly stood out but still pretty cool to see another reminder of the WS championship. The look on Brandon Belt’s face was priceless. He had nothing to do with last year’s run and had the biggest smile on his face when he shook Obama’s hand. Matt Cain was quite the statesman, presenting the president with a team-autographed bat. In that moment, I easily saw Cain getting into politics after his baseball career is over.
Cain for President-“I’ve upped my standards! Now, up yours!!”
Best news of the year:
“Alex Smith talked briefly and said he will sign at the soonest opportunity. “My mind is made up, I’m not going to wait for anything,” he said. It seems Smith’s deal is set, all he needs to do is sign the dotted line..
Alex wanted to assure his detractors that he won’t rest on his laurels despite the new contract – he’ll be just as good as ever!
It’s been half an hour. No one’s taken the bait yet
Dennis passes out every three hours.
Is Vernon Davis going to sign the contract for him? You know, like he had to speak up for him last year in the Philly game when Singletary was going to bench him? How pathetic. Not only is he a worthless piece of shit quarterback, but he’s a spineless pussy who needs a teammate to convince the coach to keep him in the game because he doesn’t have the balls himself to speak up and say he doesn’t want to be benched.
Your support for him is almost as pathetic as his play. Almost.
He’s one of the fine young men of this century in any field. He’ll certainly help Harbaugh adjust to the Pro game, Jim has confided that he considers Alex the key to 49er success over the next decade and beyond..
I’ve seen the replay- Alex backed gutless Mike up and threatened to kick his scumball ass unless he inseretd Smith back in the game. And as Matt reporrts, Alex is really the head coach now.
I’ve got absolute confidence that Harbaugh will cobble a Smith together that will be serviceable till Capt Kap is ready to take over….
I’m sure you have that same amount of confidence when you sit down at the Hold ‘Em table thinking you’re going to felt everyone.
Nice praise by our President
“Now underneath Brian’s beard, and the spandex tuxedo, and the sea captain costume, and the cleats with his face on them is also one of the most dominant closers in baseball,” Obama said.

Dennis, have you taken your blood pressure medicine today.
It’s “wet brain”, Kevin,
Whatever happened with Dennis? He used to like Soph! Now he hates Alex our beloved Niners QB!
Nipper, nothing has “happened” to me. I’m the same old stable boy that everyone’s come to know and love. Give or take a few dollars and a few pounds. Hey, my favorite week of the year starts Sunday. It’s ~~^~~~^~~ Shark Week. CHOMP!
Hey nipperJim, quick question. Do you use a hand held devise (no pun intended) when you play your alter ego soph? Just curious if that’s how you are able to fuck up so many words when you are playing your soph character.
Keep the van clean and stay thirsty my friend.
I did felt a few this weekend Dennis, thanks for the faith. The whole table? You can’t win ’em all. You play the cards you’re dealt. Smith has been dealt 2/7 since he came into the league. I’ll admit, I’m all in on harbaugh. I think he will take smith and turn him into a mid range starting qb, maybe a little better. Of course smith accepted the deal, what fool would turn down a chance to start in the NFL when that’s you’re only starting gig? Jim won’t just squeeze the middling talent smith has out of him he will forceably drag him to a qb rating of about 12-14th in all of football. And that will be his ceiling. Enjoy the ride Dennis..
Smith’s “middling talents” certainly rated higher out of college than Kap’s do.If he becomes just a 12-14 rated QB, Colin will never take over..
Here is the press conference
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/07/25/president-obama-welcomes-world-series-champion-san-francisco-giants
It’s the president, for God’s sake. Take the goddamn hat off.
Willie, that is . . .
Probably forogot he had it on and no one wanted to tell him
And where’s Willie Mac? That’s his damn jersey for God’s sake.
Flying’s too much of a pain in the ass for Stretch these days. He rarely leaves the bay Area
44th President Chuck.
The Whitehouse thing brought back the basking feeling for me.
The Giants Won the World Series. I still love typing that.
Don’t we all!! Write/Say it feels good!!
Back to baseball- these are definitely the type of match ups that demand that Tim and Matt demonstrate their postseason form. If they get one run, give up none. Whatever they’ve done thus far- the Worleys and Kendricks don’t beat the Cains and Lincecums…
BTW, I’m just ribbing Denny about Alex, I hope his apparent hatred for Smith is feigned, like most of his tirades.
Why do they have to be in post season form? Because our offense is a joke? Fuck that, they’ve pitched very well this year. Most stud pitchers up the level of their game once they get to the playoffs and that usually comes from a higher intensity level that is created by being in the post season, not facing *the Worleys and the Kendricks*. The only reason to do that now is if you have no faith in this offense. Change of heart?
I contributed $ to his campaign so I feel that I paid to be able to say this: Obama’s speeches have lost a significant amount of steam since he was elected……..
It’s America, Flavor, you don’t have to give him money in order to speak out.
Our offense is third in the NL on the road. That’s not a joke.( in fact, on those neutral fields they hit BETTER than the Phils do….
They should be in top form because top pitchers are paid to and expected to win these games. Period.
Giants pitching away from home is the best in the NL and hitting is third. I know it’s hard to have facts fuck up a good misperception but Phils, all in all, are just not a better team., I give ’em the Zits game and hope for a miracle but Tim and Matt should be expected to win backed by that better than perceived offense.
Giants on the road have scored 224 runs in 52 games. Phils have scored 229 at home in 52 games. So the fact is that in Philly, the offenses are evenly matched.
I spent three days last week and all day today in one of those extended adversarial battles that comes along once in a while, and I just found out this afternoon that the main guy on the other side is Charlie Manuel’s nephew. No wonder he took my asides about the Giants so personally.
not a bad analysis. I wouldn’t have bet that their away run total vs the Philly home run total would be that close. But there are single games that can fudge that to look closer than it looks, especially since you’re only talking about a little more than a quarter of games. A full season is far more statistically valid. And before you question the 1/4 of a season thing, that’s all you’re really looking at since we are a little more than half way through (let’s just call it half) and you are only looking at road splits for the Giants and home splits for the Phillies.
One positive note: In April we were 14th in the NL in runs scored. In May we were dead last in the NL. In June we were 14th. This month we are 8th, so that is a positive. We’re still 14th overall and I have said since ST that the Phillies offense is overrated. But the fact is, we haven’t really fixed any of our positional player problems. Our catcher sucks, 2nd base has barely been upgraded, SS is a black whole offensively. Belt and Nate have settled down the outfield. But Huff and Torres have been abominable all year. I just don’t see how we score enough runs in Philly but we shall see……..
How has Belt settled down the OF? He started one game for Ross, Good one.
As to upgrades, yoiu are just repeating what I posted earlier- they’re upgrading ( or trying to), the wrong position.
Yeah, single games can fudge the total- I hear that bullshit all the time- it works both ways., How many fucking blowouts have the Giants won? They are 7-8 in games decided by 5 or more and have scored 84 against 89 for the opposition.Phils are 15-8 in those games and have outscored the opponents 152-94. So that metric works totally in the Giants’ favor.
But with all the they can’t do this or that- sorry, they have.
you’re right, lumping Belt in with what Nate has done this year was stupid. I guess I meant that Belt has brought the possibility of some hope to one of the outfield positions. And I think he has since I think Ross is underwhelming (as I said last Winter and you argued against that) and Torres only holds on to his semi-regular spot because we have no one else to lead off.
But it’s just a series, anything can happen. I’ll draw no conclusions based off the results of this anticipated match up…….
I wonder if Riggleman will be able to contribute anything as a scout against the upcoming NL east games with the Phils and Braves, or if he was just put on the payroll because of his relationship with Bochy.
Seems like nobody has figured out how to hit Worley yet, for instance, it would be nice if some scouting turned up something the Giants could use.
Until his slump in the last week or so, Ross has led the team in OBP. He’s currently second to Pablo. OPS he’s third behind Pablo and Nate. So by any standard, he hardly a guy who should sit. But all could change depending on who they acquire.
As to Torres, it’s certainly disappointing that he’s regressed, for whatever reason. But a guy who plays his kind of defense can never be called “abominable”.And I know many hate this, but BP and Fan Graphs still rate his value second only to Pablo among active players..Nate is now a close third.
The White House brought out my pride and bask, too. EVERYBODY there seemed to enjoy it. Boehner would’ve charged admission.
make that “White House event”
and my FL team is not exactly in free fall
“Nate is now a close third.”…..So go ahead and type these words: “Torres has been more valuable than Nate to the team this year”. That should garner quite the hoot……
You go with your fiction, I’ll go wih BP and FanGraphs..You love their stats until they refute what you say.
Well, the MVP is Wilson, Vogelsong 2nd, then Panda. I would actually put Grok 4th. “The pen” doesn’t cut it. In order, MVPs in the pen are Wilson, Romo, Lopez, Affeldt, Mota, Ramirez, Casilla…
Pawlie–thruth be told, I haven’t checked the standings in 4 or 5 days. I set my LU before I left. As I recall, you were near or on top when I last checked. Maybe 2 weeks ago you broke the seal on 110? You were once a great warrior, my friend…….
The endless debate on Nate goes on, because he is Nate. June he hit .268 with 0 HRs in 82 ABs…July he heats up, then comes the AS break and afterwards…10 for 39, .256 avg with 0 walks/0 HRs for an OPS of .590
All of the guys on Baggs blog that say “they knew it all along”, “bochy never gave him regular ABs”, etc. are FOS, imo. For now he is in every day in RF. Have we seen the best two weeks of his career? Where will his numbers end up? We know he is not going to hit .330 like he was earlier in this month…if he gets back down to .268 with no pop, he’ll rotate with ross torres and belt.
The greatest month of Groks life and his OBP is less than and OPS onlty slightly more than the “underwhelming” Ross. Flavoro only persists with the MVP crap because he knows it’s annoying. Meanwhiie he delights in a downturn from Torres , one of the team’s most inspirational players since the days of Stretch….
The extreme likelihood that Nate will revert to form is the biggest argument for Beltran…
I didn’t get to the White House, gang. Effing work got in the way. Anyway, I have to say that with all the crap the President is dealing with, I’ve got to believe seeing the Giants and Willie Mays probably made his day. You can see it in his photo with Boche and Mays.
