A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

The Big Break You’ve Been Waiting For!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on January 28, 2014

If you’re unemployed with no responsibilities, no hobbies and literally nothing else to do with your life from Wednesday thru Friday, you should consider being an extra in one Β of the commercials the Giants are filming this week. The gig doesn’t pay but neither does sitting on your couch waiting for something to happen. πŸ™‚

Here’ s the link with the details of what you need to do to make this happen:

Dude, I’ve found $1,354.34 from underneath my couch cushions in the last 25 years alone.

    I’d rather watch paint dry.

Nice of the Giants to “allow” the fans to bring food and drink into the park with them for the all-day affair. Of course the fans don’t get paid, but they apparently will get free parking passes for the lot. Charging for parking was probably considered, but smartly concluded as a bit over the line. I assume the fans will be allowed to use the ATT bathrooms for free. Though, the Giants will be selling food and drink at full price for the 1200 fans’ convenience each day — Baer never misses a chance to make some quid off of the good will of Giants fans…

When deserved. You give 8 hours of your time to the Giants for free — the least they can do is offer a free hot dog or sandwich and a Coke to the 1200 people. What’s the cost of that in the scheme of things? But no, they’ll charge you for food while you give them free service. No wonder the Giants have had labor problems with their food contractor – they’re cheap…

I’m going to have to agree with snarkk on this one. They should at least get a Buster Hug or something.

I have to agree with Ryan on the whole, not on this individual point tho…Ryan, remember, these guys are fans. Just fans. They mostly can just see what happens between the lines, not off of it.

How’s this for Giants management “outside the lines”? If they’ll stiff their workers, they’ll stiff their fans…

May have to head down to Atherton and check out a couple fo Menlo College’s games (my daughter’s fiance is their head coach) to tie me over until ST starts (14 days until pitchers and catchers report).

      A disgrace……management should be fired.

And hire who? The idiot who signed Cano? How about Cashman? He signed someone for a gazillion dollars that has thrown zero pitches in the MLB. Sorry, but I will take Sabean every day, and twice on Sunday.

Burger & a Brandon Belt of Beer would be the least the Giants should offer!🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

I haven’t seen anything new about Belt and a contract. Isn’t the arbitration submission deadline this week?…

    • Alleykat's avatar Alleykat said, on January 28, 2014 at 4:28 pm

Snarkk, According to Jeff Passan ,Belt is asking for 3.6 mil and the Giants are low balling at 2.05 mil so there’s a HUGE gap. My guess there settle around 2.75 mil who knows?

      • snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on January 28, 2014 at 4:36 pm

Yeah, I had seen that a while ago Kat, but hadn’t heard anything lately. I assume they’re trading numbers down to the deadline, the Giants always want to avoid arbitration. As I said before if I’m Belt, I don’t give in much, for multiple reasons, and I wouldn’t sign away any FA years. Hell, Blanco is getting $2.5M. The money is just getting crazy now with LA throwing it away like recycled paper; the $ for a top 5 FA first baseman in a few years will be nuts…

Chump change. They shouldn’t be dicking around at this point.

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on January 28, 2014 at 4:56 pm

If the Giants get a lot of the fan extras filming commercials for free at ATT the next few days to buy soda and ballpark food, then they’ll be able to go to $3 million on Belt…
