One Run Short
I’m actually surprised we were able to keep it to a run in the opener v Cincinnati. The team was on no sleep facing Cueto, Timmy historically sucks balls against the Reds and then to watch Lincecum slip slide around on that mound, it seemed like it should have been a 10-1 type of game.
Still, another loss versus another team we should be beating in a park we should be scoring lots of runs in. Tonight we face off against Jason Marquis who is not a very good pitcher. Bumgarner should dice up the Red hitters and we should slap up some crooked numbers in this hitters park against a bad pitcher.
That’s the script, right?
The world lost one of the true musical icons last night…an American original. Rest In Peace, BB King.
RIP B.B.
Truly an icon.
Thanks for sharing Chi. Great guitar work on this one. Vocally, my preference for the alltime classic of the King of da Bluuz is an ol tape that stood me through some of the coldest days of this passing Winter. A great piece by a monumental musician.
You are welcome, Stix. I have watched at least half a dozen BB King videos this morn. This has really hit me hard, as while I have a very diverse taste in music, the blues have always been my favorite. While BB has left this world, “The Thrill” will live on forever.
Shit, I didn’t hear this. Truly one of the greats. RIP BB. Your music will live on forever.
I think you have the script correct, Flavor. My only caution is we know what a funny game baseball is, and how it can play against the odds. But yeah, ojn the surface, the series should be even after tonight.
It is getting old being smitten by the HR ball. Wash that shit off and get ’em today. Go Gigantes!
I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but haven’t the Giants excelled this year in one-run games? This losing by one run crap sucks.
Well hell, losing by ANY amount sucks.
Ah, that’s too bad about Mr. Riley B. I’ll pull out “Live at the Regal” today at work where it is part of regular CD rotation. And hope Dubs add a little to those singing blues in Memphis.
I’m with Bozo on Posey. Adrianza’s gotten more heat than he has.
Odd years do not seem to agree with him:
2010 rookie year bats .300 OPS at .862
2011 off to terrible start (4 HRs in 45 games .756 OPS) then cousins runs him over
2012 MVP, well deserved ,957 OPS
2013 OPS drops precipitously again to .821, behind Pence and (gulp) Belt (!)
2014 cranks it back up 22 HRs .854.
So far 2015, B-R has him as a 1 WAR player and on pace for 2013 numbers. 2 yr avg 13/14 18 HRs 80 rbis…which imo puts Gerald the Under Appreciated squarely in the Hall of the Very Good.
I will say this in his defense: while he can hit a ball out of Cincy or AZ or Philly to RF, at ATT that ain’t happening. I hope he continues to smack line drives that way and continues to C as much as possible.
But I’m disappointed he couldn’t do more to carry the O while Pence has been out…tho you can make the argument there’s zip to protect him and he gets pitched around.
Glad you mentioned that last little part. It ain’t as easy to pick up the slack for a fallen comrade in baseball like it is in hoops. He still only bats once through the line-up and it doesn’t help when everyone else is swinging a wet newspaper for a bat.
I know his numbers are not always great, but he plays a key position, and in the 4 years that he has played regularly in the bigs, we have won 3 World Series titles. To me, that stat trumps the hell out of OPS.
Good post from both of you, WillieD and SanDog. RE: Willie’s comment “at ATT that ain’t happening” I had to go check out his splits:
Home: GS 298, AB 1109, BA .287, OBP .351, SLG .442, OPS .837
Away: GS 298, AB 1194, BA .327, OBP .395, SLG .523, OPS .918
Goes to show you the difference between playing half of your games at the Phone Park, and the other half elsewhere (given, a few of those parks are also pitcher’s parks).
Fair enough, Dawg, 3 in 5. I bring up OPS because I’m worried about the slugging numbers, which have declined a lot in the down years. I’m hoping 2015 is not one of those because this edition of Giants O is gonna need him.
I wonder if ATT has gotten to him as far as hitting the ball to RF, and he just tries to hit singles when pitched away instead of really driving the ball and trying to yank one out.
Krukow’s call in segment on KNBR was interesting this morning. I’m never quite sure whether to take it with a grain of salt or as a barometer of the front office’s thoughts but he basically laid waste to McGehee and Belt then proceeded to call out the club for poor fundamentals. Pretty much everything that has been seen in the last few games. Poor decisions on the base paths, hit and run failures, double plays, yada yada. I thought it was a good segment.
Belt is Kruk’s fav whipping boy. Buster ever go on a slump and get trashed by Kruk?…
Buster has a history of producing at an MVP level, Belt not so much. Posey’s 162 game average: 22 HR, 93 RBI, .307 BA, .858 OPS. Belt: 16 HR, 63 RBI, .268 BA, .732 OPS while playing a less demanding position.
Posey rightly gets more slack when it comes to slumps.
The Giants aren’t geared to score a lot of runs, doesn’t matter what park they’re in. Pence is going to help, but how much is the question. Losing Panda and Morse in the power dept. shows. Giants are tied with Miami for 13th in NL in dingers. A 2 run or 3 run bomb for the Giants is huge, because it rarely happens…
This team was not designed to win by the long ball…it is all about keeping the line moving. Fuck a bunch of OPS and HRs…just win…in whatever way you can. Based loaded walk? Check. Passed ball? Oh sure. Again…just win. It is about pitching and keeping the line moving, IMO.
I have noticed that Krukow rides Belt a bit but this morning was especially harsh. Basically said the kid sucks. Can’t make adjustments, holds the bat too tight, doesn’t see the fastball. He even got in a comment about his hand placement. When Belt is going bad you can’t really argue with it. On the other hand 5 days ago Belt was spraying the ball all over the place and looking pretty good. At AT&T no less! lulz
I would have loved to listen to Kruk talking about that subject. However, the way you described it dirt – in my opinion, he’s spot on. Recently, it sounds like many here are down on Kruk . . . However, I am totally down with most everything he says. The dude is a “quick study” and knows baseball, especially pitching.
By the by, a New York Post story Tuesday quoted agent Paul Cohen, where he is suggesting Tulowitzki may ask for a trade. Cohen is his agent. This caused a shit storm in Denver, where Tulo is denying it. If you recall, I said he would ask for a trade soon . . . Only got it half right. Stay tuned.
I agree with you, blade. He was spot on. There was some talk here about announcers last week. While I sometimes find Krukow annoying it is only because he can be an over the top homer at times but I really like his pitching insight and of course he is knowledgeable. Flemming, in his attempts to be balanced, is too negative in my opinion and comes across as a douche. It is tough balance I guess but I want the home team announcer to be a bit of a homer and like Krukow. Still prefer Miller over all of them. Just me.
Yeah, everyone has their preferences, which I respect. I think because expectations are so high in SF, the broadcasters are more balanced then elsewhere. Colorado Rockies announcers are pathetic homers and ownership’s eagle eye toward in-house criticism is obvious . . . Consequently, the announcers are very careful when directing any type of negativity toward a player, the team, and especially ownership. “Kumbaya” is the word that comes to mind here in Denver. Ha.
KNBR usually podcasts those shows…you may be able to hear it there in a day or so…
.
I changed my mind. Grrrrr . . . Better left unsaid.
Text/email me your comment. You and I are usually on the same page…
Having the MLB extra innings/MLB.com packages, has allowed many of us outside of the Bay Area to experience the Giants thru the eyes and ears of their opposing broadcasters. Countless broadcasters of opposing clubs will make a point to discuss how Kruk and Kuip are the best in the business.
The condensed games are pretty cool too.
With this team ….no predicting what will happen. Throw out the script.
Yeah, 2014 pretty much nailed that with a punctuation point! I’m still marvelling at 2014. Heck, the whole 3-in-5 is still an amazing marvel. I’m still basking!!!!! π π
Me too! Got my bask on big time…
Just sent it to you Chuck via FB.
You prefer Coke over Pepsi? Thought Oswald acted alone? Secretly voted for Reagan twice? Don’t like Cha-Cha Bowls?
The Flavor Nation needs to know.
Worse dirt . . . I’ve really gone rogue – I dislike a Giants player with a vengeance and it’s not McGillicuddy. π¦
Secretly voted for Ray-gun twice…lqtm…
Alright, let’s get the guesses going. I’ll go wwwwiiiiiith Pagan. π
Personally I’m tired of Maxwell but that is probably just because he’s manning Pence’s spot.
That does it for the first round. We have Dirt with a 400-point lead over Chi. Flap Anonymous at $-100. You can all relax for a few minutes . . . Before we head to the 2nd round of Jeopardy.
The pride of Nacogdoches, Texas…there is something in there about “potential,” or more specifically, the lack of fullfilling it…
I am with ya 110% on this one, Blade…Flapardy win, or not…
based on our text exchange yesterday afternoon I’m pretty sure I know the answer.
Yep…he plays a corner IF postion…
I thought everybody liked my boy Duffy. lulz.
blade, Its not exactly surprising that you don’t like Belt. Come on man, tell us how you feel. Let the hate flow from within. π
Go back about a week and you will see all kinds of Belt comments…basically asking that he be traded. I was right in the middle of the mix on that one. Dude needs to “fulfill his potential” this year…my patience is wearing very thin…
We all have at least one Giants player that makes us go: “Ouch!”
OK, I had to change that video I’d originally posted. That “Ouch!” video is just wrong.
Here’s a much better video. A positive video. When we love what a player is doing.
Plus, Neil Innes of Monty Python was brilliant writing these “near Beatles” songs.
Sandoval is now 2 for 34 vs. lefthanded pitching. He’s not exactly pounding the ball off the Green Monster batting righthanded.
Can I pick Kuip for my least favorite Giant?
Why not. I have seen no rules on this…
Are there specifics why? Not trying to defend the dude…just curious SDog…
I just don’t think much of him as an announcer. I don’t think he takes the craft real seriously and prepares himself to be accurate and informative. I think he relies on his personality and humor to get by.
Obviously, whatever he is doing works for him as he is a freaking legend in the bay area.
Just not my cup of tea, Chi.
I can agree with much of that. Thanks, Dog…
Dunston.
The Dodgers’ bullpen awesomely coughed up a game last night. Plus, there’s no rhyme or reason to how D2X uses those guys. They’re getting their closer back pretty soon, I think, though. We’ll see how he comes back from foot surgery.
Wow, I had no idea they lost until seeing your post. Last I saw it was 4-1, figured another loss for the Rox and never bothered to check. This is awesomely.
Mike McCormick. It’s personal.
And it may not be over…
I can’t wait to hear the details on this. I have a feeling its going to be even better than Roger McDowell spitting at Newman and Kramer.
“Nice game, pretty boy!”
Sheesh, what have I started? I take a nap and all sorts of shit went down. lqtm. π
Shit, where’s my post? In ref to the announcer vitriol at players, I don’t mind it, I just get pissed when they deem guys untouchable. I think we all heard enough about Rowand and his 500 swings before every game. Nary a negative thought on the guy. Zito sailed through his shittiness unscathed. Belt catches shit? re he deserves it at times. But so does Posey for taking half of the 2013 season off.
Charlie – I respect your opinion on most things, but IMO there is absolutely no comparison between Belt and Posey. I think many Flappers have posted comments today that substantiates that. Belt just needs to man the fuck up and FULFILL his fucking potential. Yeah, I have said it before and will say it again…I am growing very impatient with BB9.
Rennie Stennett for LFG?
Bochy riding that Buzzkill…until, well, until it kills him…
1. Gregor Blanco (L) LF
2. Joe Panik (L) 2B
3. Angel Pagan (S) CF
4. Buster Posey (R) C
5. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
6. Justin Maxwell (R) RF
7. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
8. Casey McGehee (R) 3B
9. LHP — Madison Bumgarner (3-2, 3.30)
Wrong Brandon at 5. π
Is Aoki injured?
SanDog, my wife is with you regarding Kuiper. She finds him dour, with a kind of Debbie-downer personality. She likes when it’s the local NBC-affiliate broadcast with Miller and Krukow.
I like Kuiper on TV, but I heard him again recently on radio, and he’s such a different guy on radio: much more lively.
Least favorite Giant? Was Uggla here long enough to count?
McGiggles is a strong contender.
At the time, I didn’t like getting a washed-up Righetti, as a pitcher. But then he turned out to be an awesome pitching coach, so that, in the long run, worked out quite well.
Pence on his way to Cincinatti per Baggs.
Can I get a hallelujah?!
Amen, at least. He will be activated tomorrow, so Baggs says. A couple dingers in consecutive games for Sac-town will do that. His psychological impact will be immediate. On the field? Maybe fairly soon. In any event this is absolutely wonderful news.
Other side of the ticket via Baggs is that NOW Cain is hoping to be back before the Break. Yikes!
Two-game losing streak on the road, this is where MadBum is supposed to earn the big bucks — although, comparatively speaking (Kershaw, Scherzer), I guess he doesn’t.
Ha ha! Don’t get Loo started!
No worries Mac. Bum has rattled off four games of a 2.03 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 26.7 innings, and the K count continues to climb. His 3.30 ERA is just a shade over his marks from the past two campaigns and his FIP is a dead ringer for 2013-14, while his 4.4 percent walk rate would qualify as the lowest full-season frequency of his career. Believe me – I’ve researched him 7 ways from Sunday, as he will be in a few of my DFS games tonight.
Albeit, the SW wind (going out to left field) is a bit of a concern. Fortunately, it’s at 5mph and let’s hope it stays that way (umm, except when the GMen are at bat).
There are some ridiculous HRs hit in those bandbox-type ballparks. That one the other night where the Houston guy reached out, off balance, and flicked one over the rightfield fence was pretty cheesy.
Fucking finally
That useless prick!
Viva Belt! π
BB9 must have spotted Pence’s plane flying in to Cincy. Figured he would shoot him up a message. Bout time, but would you haters please STF up!
Belt does well when the Flappers talk crap about him. It’s part of our dysfunctional relationship with him! π
One fucking HR does not cure this…I will continue to bag on Belt tirelessly…and of course, he will go on a tear…
Well, exactly what I was concerned about.
Oh sure, I start bagging on Belt’s ass again, and he jacks one out. I am going to start mercilessly ragging on his sorry ass all the time. Hell, in a week or so, his OPS should be over 1.000…
See!?!?!?!
I kid, I kid.
I ain’t comparing Belt to Posey, Chuck. I’m just saying that Posey gets a pass every time. I don’t think that should be the case.
I guess the more apt comparison would be Belt to Rowand. Rowan did next to nothing for 3 years and Kruk/Kuip heaped praise in his work ethic, blah blah blah. Belt’s been catching shit for years now. Rightly so for some of it, I just don’t like the picking and choosing.
Posey, as others have said, based on his overall numbers and playing the toughest position on the diamond, IMO, doesn’t NEED a pass. He brings it.
A friend of mine (a Rockies Fan) sent me this. Hilarious . . .
ONLY a single. Your ass sucks buttermilk, Belt… I jest…kind of…
Damn…nice play by Hamilton…
One or both runners should’ve tagged on that.
Emmett Kelly strikes again?
Yep…even Belt the three-toed tree sloth could have made it to 3rd.
So, we all know Pence will be activated for tomorrow’s game (supposedly). Who gets the ax? No way they carry six OFers. It would seem Maxwell would be the short guy out, which sucks, as I think he would be good off the bench. But I don’t see Aoki or Blanco getting the boot. Could Hector be the sacrificial lamb?
Is Aoki hurt or not?
Nope. On the radio pre-game Bochy said that he thought he was scuffling a bit, and also that he liked the way Blanco is swinging the bat. But, maybe he, or another Giant OFer comes up with one of those mysterious “ailments” that lands him on the 15 day DL.
Pence, Pagan, Aoki, Maxwell, Blanco. 5 OFs. Maxwell as the 4th, maybe, but they have to keep Blanco in case Pagan gets hurt. Two 4s, I suppose.
6-1? Damn I was in the tunnel a while.
Pence might not play every day right off the bat.
I think hard-luck Hector goes…
As the stadium burns…
Pay no attention to the grease fire in the phony smoke stack everyone. Nothing to see hear, folks. Keep enjoying the ballgame.
Red’s color guy just compared Bum to John Candelaria. Good call.
I guess you have to be from Brooklyn to know that Candelaria was a Parade Grounds legend.
There were many others…
Guess how many games the Candy man won in the bigs. I just looked it up.
I’ll go 177…
HaHa! I guessed 157.
I just freaked myself out – for real…
Then I tip my cap to you—well done! How far is Atlantic City from where you live?
I’m no fan of the giant Coke bottle and the giant glove at ATT, but at least neither of those have caught fire during a game.
Brett Butler,is probably the Giant that I really disliked the most while on the team. Couldn’t stand him before we got him, couldn’t stand him when he played for us, hated his radio show and when he went to the Dodgers it really just topped it off my feelings for the little puke.
Good call.
He was a good player for the Giants.
Candidates for most disliked Giant for me would include LeMaster, Manny Trillo, Randy Moffitt, and Candy Maldonado. I’m sure I’m forgetting several. Yes, it was cool when Candy jumped into that fight, but he seemed to screw something up every time I watched the guy play.
Candy was one of my all time favorites. Back in ’86, I literally spent every cent I had to get his jersey custom made for me at Gerry Cosby’s which was the only place in NY you could get an item like that in those days. When I went to pick it up, I actually cried tears of joy at the sight of it when the guy brought it out from the back. I am a very sick individual.
That same year a friend of mine was trying to sell me his bicycle. I was wavering until he told me the bike happened to be Candy Maldonado’s favorite color.
Yeah sandog, true about Maldonado, I didn’t really hate the guy but man he pissed me off, time and time again (sorry Loo).
You guys will probably rip me a new ass for this, but I had a huge dislike for Dravecky, It was because of his association with the John Birch society while playing with the Pads. I just couldn’t get over it and I guess I still haven’t.
I wonder if anyone’s ever really been ripped a new ass.
It sounds like a nice gesture.
Maybe so Loo, but it might be kinda messy.
No way in hell Maxwell gets cut. It has to be Hector, unless they decide Susac needs to play everyday and they send him to Sacto.
I’m sure we’re all happy about Pence coming back. 2.5 months is plenty if you ask me. Given Bochy’s comment the other day about making the call when he’s ready, as if it might be a while, I suspect he was hammering Bochy/Sabean behind the scenes to get back in there.
If it was me, Sanchez would be hasta la vista. Susac is with the big club and a better option defensively and probably offensively in the long run. Maxwell is a good piece to have coming off the bench. Has some pop and is clearly a superior outfielder, and he runs well, too. Hit the bricks, Hector.
Belt whacks his 1st homer 6 weeks into the season. Outstanding. Now keep it up for the next 6 weeks or so and I’ll really be impressed. Posey appears to be heating up in the run producing category himself. It seems like he’s been tearing up Great American since he came into the league.
Let’s go WARRIORS! Ice this series TONIGHT!
Most disliked Giants for me: Hershesier, Burba, Edgardo Alfonso, and Shinjo. Those were the first four to come to mind.
Great call on the despicable Hershiser. Edgardo was a class act but a huge disappointment although his SF numbers don’t look all that bad. In his final year as a Giant, an NL scout was quoted as as saying “there is no life in his body.”
the fire had me lol. Game keeps going while the firemen get the call of a lifetime? that was rad.
I loved Candy too, Loo. I love this mini thread and am going to ponder it tonight. Will post mine tomorrow…..
Candy could drive you nuts, but he had some big moments for the Giants. I liked him too. Wilcojoe, I forgot about Alfonso. He’d definitely be o the list.
Of the current guys, McGehee is making a case. π
LFG for me is that shithead AJ Pierzynski. A clubhouse cancer from the get-go. There honestly haven’t been a lot of guys over all the years I’ve been a fan that I disliked, but that c**k sucker is one of them.
OK, read this in morning on Baggs blog, where one commenter over there took issue with first, Baggs ragging on Lincecum and second Belt wars.
Take is this: first, Baggs has personal issue with Tim and makes it a point to discredit whatever he does.
Second: Belt is cost controlled good defensive 1b in the system who has had one excellent season as late as 2013 when he was second best hitter on the team.
Further, there is not currently another similar type player in the system, so trading him makes zero sense to the organization. Unless you want all Ishi all the time.
I’ve been a Belt apologist that is waiting for him to duplicate those 2013 numbers of which I think he is fully capable. It’s interesting that so far Susac is not lighting things up either. I like him but he has only had 150 some ABs at ml level, so it’s way early to say that best LU would be Posey at 1b/Susac everyday C.
And again, unless you think Duvall is really anything more than another Coast League wonder (which Giants have had a lot of), Belt remains best option…for now.
LU appears to doing fine to me, btw.
Toronto losing 7-1 in 5th and Dickey is still in there. I swear, sometimes I think teams keep pitchers out there just cause they’re paying them a lot of $. Why leave Dickey out there? Are they trying to win the game or just have him eat up innings?
Probably the knuckleball excuse…
Well, you called it. High-scoring game, for our guys. Hey, why has Aoki been playing less (he just got a hit); was he hurt or was it just lineup matchups?
Most hated Giant vote would go to Armando Benitez.
After what JT Snow did to him I could not believe Sabes signed this guy. Colossal f-u.
Good call on Benitez willie.
yeah, plus he was a wife-beater, if I recall rightly
And lefty…
Great call on Benitez. He might go straight to the top of my list.
I haven’t given this a lot of thought, but Rennie Stennett gets a vote.
…might be a great guy, but sucked for the Giants.
AJ and Benitez are great calls. We paid through the nose to get AJ, he drove in 80 runs in his only season with the GIants, yet we still let the guy go because he was such a jerk
So I guess the obvious headline is Giants Smoke Reds…
LOL. “Reds winning streak goes up in smoke”
Loo, I liked Candy, too, even if he did lose that ball in the lights. Great story. At least at the paper where I worked, copyeditors wrote heds. (Macdog, is that still true?) I like a good hed. Best of the NY Post: HEADLESS BODY IN TOPLESS BAR. (So symmetrical.) That, and CAUGHT when they got Son of Sam [could’ve been the Daily News, which had the epic hed FORD TO CITY: DROP DEAD.]
NAKED AND DEAD AUTHOR STABS WIFE. SF Chronicle. Norman Mailer’s personal life was that interesting, apparently.
“CAUGHT” was the NY Post, Pawlie. I think it was the first time they ever used red ink in a headline. I believe the Daily News headline was “NAB MAILMAN AS .44 KILLER”…
Dubs currently smoking early, great offense.
Hubie Brown is doing the game, and he loves them.
Haven’t heard him in a while but he knows the game, inside and out.
Didn’t he coach Memphis, and pretty well too if I remember right?
Won a coach of the year award with them, so he must have done pretty well.
Hector looks like a stormtrooper back there….
Listening to Hubie on Dubs game and watching Hawks-Wizards earlier reminded me of this: The last time Atlanta and Washington met in playoffs was ’79, Brown was Hawks coach and took defending champ Bullets to 7 games in 2nd round.
Yeah, nice job tonight by the Giants all the way around. Plus a little mop up work for Petit to get his groove on.
Hubie is good and has been for a long time. He’s been working, but TNT just handed off coverage to ESPN so we’ll see more of him. He’s still one of the best.
Game.
there’s that big scoring game we were supposed to be able to do in Cincinnati.
when the warriors of lost that third game to Memphis going down two games to one Phil Jackson was reported to have tweeted: how are the jump shooting Teams doing in the playoffs?
Somebody should let him know.
Viva Gigantes!
Bill Madlock was no favorite of mine. McDP could easily qualify already, but …we shall see. GIANTS WIN.
Beltwether for the team? As BB9 goes so go the Giants? Been that way for awhile lately. Guess a lot of the frustration on the board has been due to the fact that we all know that those 4 RBIs tonight is something he has in him. So far he has been like a single water tap that alternates between cold and hot ~ near freezing and absolutely scalding. Thinking that Pence’s presence will take a lot of pressure off both Belt and Buster. Maybe that had a lot to do with the breakout tonight.
This team could get really exciting real fast if they put together a few more double figure whompings over the next few weeks. Like Belt, they got it in em. Keep that Conga line moving and add a few doubles and the occasional dinger.
Memphis and the Mississippi Delta–Memphis is just over the state line from that wedge of northwest Miss. (essentially the triangle formed by the Yazoo River’s diagonal cut across the state0. Memphis was the place Faulkner’s women characters went to go bad (Oxford, Miss. is right in the middle of the Delta), and where bluesmen (and women) in real life went to make money and records. Ike Turner’s band went to Memphis to record the first rock and roll song, Rocket 88. And BB King left the Delta and went to Memphis to make his career. He played clubs and DJ’d at a radio station and adopted the on-air name, Blues Boy. We all must have our favorite BB King song. Mine is Why I Sing the Blues. The first verse starts on a slave trading ship. Nice tribute to BB in Memphis tonight.
Least Favorite Giant: This is an easy one — Deion Sanders. The sight of that egotistical, showboating cocksucker wearing a Giants uniform was nauseating to say the least. The one time as a Giants fan where I truly did not give a shit about the team was ’95. Part of it was post-strike anger, but Sanders on the team was a big part as well.
One more on Neon Jerkoff: Man, I loved it when Sanders played for the Yanks and Carlton Fisk got his face for not running out a ball in play.
#2 LFG would be Darryl Strawberry.
Tulo injured . . . I think. Watching the Bum/Sherpa game and he just got replaced in the 3rd inning.
Belt with a 3 run jack and 4 RBIs total.
Guess that gives him one game before Kruk rips him again…
Oh my, Curry. He was almost behind the opposite 3-point line on that one.
Oh man, Steph just ended 3rd Q with a swish… from 70 ft. Picked up loose ball on D from 3pt line and swished it at the other end. Memphis playing tough, good ball game.
Butler pulled in 3rd inning after about 80 some pitches and Vin Scully says, “The Butler didn’t do it.” Yuk, yuk, yuk. π
I have to go with the Benitez call along with Willie and Wilco. Man, that guy was arrogant. Never met an excuse he didn’t like either.
