A good friend of mine is a very passionate and knowledgeable Dogger fan. He says Puig is another Mondesi and Mondesi wasn’t anything too too special. Says he’d trade Puig for Hamels in heartbeat straight up.
Any umpire who over the course of a season calls more than 3 pitches like the belt high fastball Hudson didn’t get as balls should be fired for incompetence.
I’d love to hear a good a good explanation for why it’s appropriate for ESPN to have jilted coach Mark Jackson part of the broadcast team cover the Warrior’s series.
Good to get the first game, but Klay Thompson did everything in his power to blow that game in the last 1:30. And he cannot handle James Harden defensively. Houston is game. This will not be a walk in the park. Dubs will need a much better effort in game 2 to go up 2-0.
i actually came here to voice the same complaint. isn’t this conflict of interest? and the officiating is just unbelievable. harden on defense had his arm AROUND thompson, just holding him in place (off the ball) and that’s not a foul. yet harden gets the ball and you look at him funny and it’s a foul. it’s really unwatchable for me. curry can’t buy a foul yet harden gets every call.
Hey ewisco, until those last two free throws, Curry had one for the game. That just can’t be right. Someone farts in Harden’s vicinity and it’s a continuation and one. Granted, he does generate a lot of contact driving the lane, but it seems to me he has the officials in his back pocket.
It’s hard to listen to Jackson call these games for me. There’s another series, why not have him do that one? Fox loves to do that with Karros and Hershiser too.
i think ESPN loves the whole concept. and what it comes down to for me is if MJ has half the character that he says he has (though a priest who screws call girls becomes a question mark) why doesn’t he say “i’m not going to do it”. ESPN has nothing to lose and everything to gain by fanning this flame. MJ has to be the one who says no. call me when the world ends because that’s what it would take.
Lol. You had me at the call girl thing. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if that’s exactly what ESPN is going for, some kind of Peyton Place mojo to add some spice.
Glad to see Hudson get a W. This is it for him, last ones he’ll ever have in his career. Always liked him, class guy and pretty funny too.
According to cbs game tracker, lot of pitches thrown in low-mid 80s, but still getting guys out.
Yeah, Loo, I was reading that earlier and remembered you raising that possibility. Oh, not sure if you saw my post last week (or whenever), but I did in fact go to Tracks before the Clapton concert at the Garden, thanks for the tip…
TL tomorrow night, nice outing for Huddy. When I was at the yard last Amy G. walked right past me headed to an office somewhere. She was really tall. She doesn’t look tall during her game segments. Some times I think the worse part of being a Giants fan is all the commercials on KNBR.
This game win takes all the pressure off having to deliver a win to save the series when next the Zumiee lead flappers congregate in worship at AT&T.
I was in total shock and awe at the offence during the Cincinnati series. Tonight a shutout of the leading offensive team. WOW. (of course, the doggers have always been offensive)
Shutout the Doghairs is a nice feat. Huddy must have had some Geritol to do what he did for nearly 7.
Lopez way overpaid for this night’s performance.
Pence’s oppo job late is a dinger for sure in Cincy, he roped that one.
Nice clutch RBI by Posey early.
Good effort by Romo.
Super catch by Pence to rob AGon — that one’s a dinger elsewhere, too…
All’s good when the Doghairs fall.
Giants score first — they are 18-7…
You’re right Mac, I meant Belt. Like I’ve said, when he’s mashing oppo, he’s in a good place.
I’m half asleep, so time to go full asleep.
Gnite Flappers…
Nice escape act by our vintage Hudson Terraplane. Quite the car in its day (before mine) and still a bit more than fumes in the tank. We are grateful. Park effect shut down a couple pretty potent offenses tonight ~ particularly theirs. Either Timmy or Bumgarner pulls one out and we take the series. Always wonderful to cop that first one. Are we in their heads yet? Shutouts can do that as well as ten run cloudbursts.
A good friend of mine is a very passionate and knowledgeable Dogger fan. He says Puig is another Mondesi and Mondesi wasn’t anything too too special. Says he’d trade Puig for Hamels in heartbeat straight up.
That surprised me.
you’ve always been too high on Puig.
Go Giants!
It looks like it will be on the MLB channel tonight. Screaming from the easy chair, thats what I’m talkin’ about.
Or, Cubs and Padres. Fuck. Back to screaming at the small screen.
.That Sucks Bozo,
MLB playing the tease game with you.Always pissed me off to know end, when I couldn’t find my team on the TV when they should be on.
Gotta big drive to Connecticut tomorrow, and back. Can’t stay up. But GO, GIANTS!
Nearly perfectly matched first inning: Leadoff double, followed by runner on first. Both pitchers escape, Frias with 19 pitches, Hudson with 18.
Any umpire who over the course of a season calls more than 3 pitches like the belt high fastball Hudson didn’t get as balls should be fired for incompetence.
I totally blame the pitcher. Playing “cute” and throwing wild pitches – it’s all on him.
Walk the pitcher? Dumb.
Yasiel is a better player than Mondesi, but Raul is better than

WTF was Giggles walk-up song? It was as awful as he’s been…
Simple Man by Shinedown (Lynyrd Skynyrd original I think).
Thanks, Blade.
I didn’t notice, but apparently a shitty cover of a Skynyrd tune. Bum prefers the original.
I only heard screeching…
I looked at the “official” list and noticed that they have the wrong tune listed for Aoki, so who knows if it really is that fucked up cover.
McDP really mustered up on that AB.
WelI shit I thought Giggles walk up music was” Double mint Gum”
double your pleasure double your outs, with double mint double mint double mint gum…
Nothing like a little 2 out rinky-dink…
Huddy dancing through trouble again there. He seems to hang a lot of sliders these days. But he’s been getting through it tonight so far.
McG is just the invisible man out there.
That might have been a productive out had a runner been on for Casey.
Nice inning by Huddy; the ump ripped him off by missing a strike three call.
Frias should never be allowed to swing a bat. The guy is a disgrace up there.
I’d love to hear a good a good explanation for why it’s appropriate for ESPN to have jilted coach Mark Jackson part of the broadcast team cover the Warrior’s series.

McGiggles disease . . . I think it is contagious.
Does everybody out there call them the “Dubs”?
Don’t like it at all…
Oakland Dubs for some of us–it’s an era about to end, as they get ready to move to south McCovey Cove.
Nice catch Hunter 🙂
Huddy with an assist from the ballpark. A-Gon gets AT&Teed.
Ishikawa bobblehead should be doing the helmet slam…
You’ll need batteries first.
Yeah, Amy G. did that just for Willie, trying to play the recording without batteries. 🙂
or a clue.
Have that bullpen ready.
Huddy’s did a good job against a lineup in which everyone appears to be hitting .300.
Bochy read your mind zum.
🙂
Nice game from Hudson. He looked rocky early, but got a good rhythm going and did well.
Given about 5 strikes, Guerrero finally got nice line drive to end Hudson’s night. Leaves with a lead tho.

The flubbed double-play is turning into a nightmare.
Panik is usually pinpoint with his throws. Bad time to bobble one.
That was a lousy performance from Lopez.
Atta kid Sergio.
Wow. That was a high-wire act, but the Giants got through that inning.
Another glitch on a double-play.
Van Slyke picked off firstbase! Who saw THAT coming??
I’d like to see a replay of that one just to see what the hell he was thinking.
An insurance run here would be a really groovy thing.
That sucker is gone in Cincy.
AT&T has a remarkable, calming influence on hot offenses. lol
Hilarious that it occurred near those cartoon cars . . . Almost as if they were laughing at the dude. 🙂
Ol’ Donnie Two Times had to do the Donnie Two Step on that one.
Pence was a little rusty tonight. The time-off showed a little tonight.
I agree. Was thinking the same thing. It was bound to happen, it’ll take a week or so probably to get all the way back from a timing perspective.
There’s your insurance run zum!
That was a heck of a run! It took a lot of imagination from the baseball gods!
Ha! Kruk called it!
Let’s see if Duffy can split the outfielders here.
Close it out now.
Casilla has always had some nasty movement on that two seamer.
Ah, nothing can come easy.
Ballgame!
Blank L.A.!
Great game
Oh, in the bag the whole way. No problem. 🙂 🙂
Hell of a game, hell of a win.
sweet.

I had this one in spring training…

Tough night for the Dodgers:
P.S. BB#9 come home, all is forgiven.
🙂
