That game must have made the Nats happy. And Sanchez gets a W against his former team. No Stix email today so I can’t fill up the thread with his melodious mutterings.

Hopefully that’s the only Apple TV game of the year.

    So is giving OK to Apple to air the game a decision made by Baer and marketing team (with approval by fils Johnson)? As long as they pay Giants (I’d assume handsomely) for this, where does this end?

    mlb has a deal with apple to show two games every Friday at least through June. I think yesterday was the Giants only appearance. Maybe they’ll start over again in July. The lag between apple and KNBR was nearly three pitches long. Odd experience, but it’s always good to hear Jon Miller and Dave Flemming.

      Thanks xoot. Yanks-KC game was theirs yesterday too. Wonder if this is beginning of end I guess.

      A friend turned me on to Lucia Berlin and “A Manual for Cleaning Women”, someone I was completely unaware of until few years ago. James’ live clip of her poetry reading was fantastic
      Did find copy of James McBride’s “Five Carat Soul” collection of short stories, and he dedicates it “To Sonny Rollins, who showed me the Big Picture (his italics)” from 2017.

        The doubleback brace she wore for her terrible scoliosis probably contributed to her regal bearing, but I bet James knows that. Impressive how she apparently adapted it to her advantage.

    At least I got to go to bed early last night..Yankees also have about 20 games exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, I’m sure their older fans are digging that.

      Yes I did BF, wish him the best in Boston, hopefully he gets a chance there unlike here.
      Cutting out on K’s is his biggest problem.He has the athletic tools, just wasn’t showing it here.Injuries didn’t help him as well, just bad timing and 68 AB’s total was ridiculous overall..

    Go Giants! I’m hoping Slater gets some more AB’s. Not sure why I like him, but I’d like to find out if he can actually play. His lone AB vs a righty was a 3 run bomb a few games ago. Maybe with regular AB’s with Duggar and Yaz out his BA will improve!

    Anyone else concerned about Webb? 9 hits in 4 innings against the Nats? Maybe nothing to it but when Roberts pulled Kershaw in his 2nd start with 80 pitches Webb threw 96 in his, and hasn’t looked sharp since. He is a stud so a slightly lesser version still very good, but hasn’t dominated at all. Just me?

      not exactly as webb gem today. they aren’t crushing much off the walls just some well placed hits. But he hasn’t K’d many guys either.

    I was sorry to see the news about the passing of Naomi Judd. I bought a Judds record in the 1980s and liked it a lot. The only country music that interested me in those days were the “new traditionalists” like Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam. But I would say the Judds were kind of in that ballpark in their own way.
