Unc, re: last post, caveat is that stat about Giants not having runner thrown out at plate all year refers to hit passed ball or wild pitch. Baggs found it on B/R.
Schmitt did get tagged out at plate vs. Twins game (FC I think). Still true otherwise per Baggs in Athletic. Schmitt play pointed out by blogger (Aiden T) in comments section.

Villar up for Thairo on 10 day IL.

First of all the teams should not be allowed to both wear red no way no how. It sure looked like the catcher tagged the batter with the ball after dropping the strikeout.

The play by play person was a big help…

Some Met fan called the radio before saying Mets GM Eppler
should be fired for the JD trade…

The pitch is 2″ from the dirt and inside and is called a strike? And it sure looks like the catcher tags the batter. And the ump ignored that and signals safe that no one saw. That’s all on the home plate ump. He should have shouted safe, or something.

Yep, home plate umpire was clueless and paralyzed.
The catcher looked back at him and got nothing, like the out was legit.
Ump should be banned from further umping for a long time…

Villar 3B today,Craw SS back in, dayoff Schmitt &Bailey for now..
Read where 1st rd 2way player LH pitcher/hitter Reggie Crawford is amping it up now after a elbow surgery and his hitting high 90’s on his FB as they monitor his progress and expect him to play in San Jose A ball soon. He’s got power as well with 13 bombs his last college year at UConn I believe? Good size 6’4 Giants plan on using him at 1B for now..Giants new Othani for the future?

Cobb (2.4) is #2 in the overall NL WAR category.
That includes position players (Freeman next at 2.3)
    Webb is #6…

What happened? Cobb not cobbin’ today?

    • James's avatar James said, on May 28, 2023 at 1:03 pm

The Brewers scored only 2 runs in the first three games. That’s probably the biggest thing that happened to Cobb. Haniger lines into a DP in the first, the Brewers with two weak hits to score the first run and the rest followed suit.

Sabomb! This was kinda cool. I’m watching Mets-Rox, in the background was the Coors scoreboard and I saw Giants 7-1 turn to 7-4.

I remember little league nights at the Oakland E. coli , watching the A’s play and keeping an eye on the hand op scoreboard. When the hand slowly changed the Giants score, my sons and I waited, to see how many runs they’d scored. Then thousands of other people in the stands always cheered along with us.

  16. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on May 28, 2023 at 1:52 pm

I like Walker with his deception and doesn’t walk anybody just throws strikes.I’m getting jazzed up with this Bullpen!

Damn, at least they made a game of it, but too much to overcome Cobb’s crap outing.

Really tough to sweep any team on the road, especially if it’s a 4 game series. 3 of 4 is a good outcome…

5-2 road trip works fine. It will be good to get home and kick some Ass!

  20. Winder's avatar Winder said, on May 28, 2023 at 2:39 pm

I think they made an impression for the whole league during this road trip. Baseball’s been fun again. I’m not even mad at Kap right now.

With injury issues and suckitude of Thor, Dogs promoted 2 of top rookies to rotation. Gavin Stone gave up 10 hits 7 earned runs yesterday to Rays in 2 innings. Start before that he gave up 5 early runs to Braves; ERA is over 14.00. Roberts says they will “reassess” what to do with him.

Having top rated prospects all well and good but…

Plus the new schedule gives them much less games to beat up on the NL West teams.
