Smoke
Impressive start to a series in the worst place on the planet to play baseball (aside from Mexico City). Loo, give me a Flap Man on the Scene take of the smoke in NY. Will we or won’t we have a Belmont Stakes this Saturday?

NY looks like Bladerunner 2049 movie per CNN article/photos.
Games cancelled there and Philly again today.
Yanks aren’t canceled.
It’s fine here right now…
Good call. I liked that movie, but not near as much as the original. That one is in my top 10 all time. The Vangellis score was indispensable to it, an all time great, like Morricone‘s was in TGB&U …
Agree. No idea why the original movie was not popular when it came out. I loved it. That being said, the Spanish director (forgot his name) did an excellent job on the 2nd movie, i.e., it was quite complimentary to the first movie. He also directed The Revenant, which I consider one of the best, if not best, all time survival movies movies ever made.
Seems much better this morning but might worsen again later.
I think they’ll be absolutely fine for Saturday…
Wait till PETA freaks
Might even be some rain showers in the coming days.
It’ll be fine…
The Pads seem to be regaining their footing after their recent nosedive. The fucking D-Bags are on fire.
It would be nice if we could go on a nice 12-5 run.
Got to fatten up on the Cubs and Cards before the critical LA-SD-AZ 10 game stretch.
I heard there is like 400 wildfires in Canada it’s no wonder NY and all the east coast is at DEFCON 5 with air quality off the charts. You flappers back there all stay safe, same thing out in California a few years back with all the wildfires combining from Oregon to Santa Cruz to make it miserable! Stay in as much as possible..
A couple of years ago there was so much smoke in my neighborhood that the little space where I put gas into the tank was full of ashes and I have a locked cover for it. Those ashes get everywhere. We stayed indoors for most of the two weeks we had smoke. It is miserable and feel sorry for the East coast.
Giants got to be fired up after last nights game.
Couple that with no AC and it’s really miserable. No smoke, but we had 100 degree temperatures the end of last summer. Amazing due to the elevation. Consequently, I said screw it – I researched AC condenser units, pads, add-ons to existing furnaces, etc. Fast forward a week later, I had AC for $5k. One of the best, if not best, home upgrades I ever did. Was in bliss the last 2 weeks of summer.
That idiot MTG is laughing at NY and via Twitter, is saying that the “Climate Cult” there is pushing their conspiracy theories about climate change. Fucking moron.
Yeah blade we have AC also, well spent money.
Loo is right as of right now per cbs site Yanks game is on.
Nats game was cancelled to be played in 2 weeks.
Philly game also on for now.
At the founding of our nation, John Adams said our republic would survive as long as voters elect honorable people to office.
Oh well.
It’s Elly-mania in Cincy. After two games he’s arguably the most exciting player in MLB. He takes an hour to run the bases when he hits an HR, and Bumgarner would have blown a gasket, but MLB needs all the exciting players it can get.
Why I want to bring up Luis Matos for the extra juice I believe he will supply to go along with Schmitt &Bailey.Right now really no opening for him until the usual injury occurs to an outfielder.
And the Giants won’t put up with a HotDogging player they are a tight clubhouse, the rookies are very respectful and only want to absorb more knowledge everyday from the vets..
The LaStella Effect:
The other day, someone reported on this site Kyle Harrison would make his debut tomorrow against the Cubs. It can’t happen. In fact, there’s a greater chance he gets traded than him making the 26 man roster before September.
Teams can only carry 13 pitchers, and unless Manaea is “injured”, there’s no way to fit him without optioning a more valuable bullpen arm.
It’s great that Beck and Walker are pitching well, ominous that Stripling and Wood are lurking on the IL, and Manaea is cockblocking a roster spot.
Don’t know about the “legality”, but the Giants should put Stripling on the 60 Day IL and hope Manaea comes up lame.
Junis and Beck should be good for five innings tomorrow, but they’re going to need an innings eater who doesn’t leave so many crumbs on the placemat.
My reds fan friend loved seeing the team walkoff the dodgers two games in a row. He hates the dodgers. It’s funny: Bench was his favorite player as a kid and he greatly admired Buster. The sound of that HR v Matos still echoes in Cincy I guess. Anyway, he’s wide eyed watching Elly and the other rookies they’re playing. He’s like a kid again. We sort of know about rejuvenation too. So far it has salvaged the season.
1. LaMonte Wade Jr. (L) 1B
2. Thairo Estrada (R) 2B
3. Joc Pederson (L) DH
4. J.D. Davis (R) 3B
5. Michael Conforto (L) RF
6. Mitch Haniger (R) LF
7. Blake Sabol (L) C
8. Austin Slater (R) CF
9. Casey Schmitt (R) SS
P: Alex Cobb (R)
Sabol, again. Probably means nothing, since Bailey got in the game last night. It does make you wonder if they are taking a hard look at him.
Kap said on the radio just now that Bailey’s dealing with a neck issue. Sounded like a pinched nerve. Claimed it happened in his sleep. Bad enough to sit him twice, but PH isn’t out of the question again.
Hope it’s not Chris Brown syndrome who told Humm Baby I can’t play today I woke up with a sprained eyebrow..
Cobb not long for this one…
Maybe they should’ve gone with an opener today.
I think they did
Very efficient, 29 pitches, 10 batters.
Get those runs back, Giants.
Yeah Loo, Cobb got corn holed right out of gate..4 runs 5 hits/walk 30 pitches yikes
The defensive runs saved for Wade and Estrada are nice, but SF still leads the league in errors and unearned runs given up. One could assert many far less objective reasons for the one game over 500 record.
Crawford and Sabol have 6 errors each, of the team’s 45.
Cobb added an error on a pickoff throw today didn’t he? Now that’s often costly.
Cobb’s groundball percentage is taking a dive.
Down 4-1 at Coors is no big deal, especially with 5 frames left.
Giants proved that last night, without benefit of any HRs.
Seems likely they’re due for an HR or two in the rest of this game, which puts them back into it, if they can hold the Rocks reasonably well…
A guy named Nolan for the Rox is killing the Giants.
Two straight days of watching recently released pitchers shut down the Giants.
Yeah, Conforto bomb, chase Anderson.
He’s got the lone bomb, but that 3-2 pitch never looked a strike.
Still find it unbelievable that Nomo could throw a no hitter at Coors launching pad in 96.
All Pitchers for the 1996 season averaged a 7.08 ERA..
Coming back.
Mets coulda used these guys…
Glad they didn’t think so.
You’re loving it, aren’t you!
And the boys are back in town again!
Davis triple,Conforto Bomb 💣 4-3!!
The Sweeper is still alive!!
Damm if Haniger didn’t have bad luck he would have no luck at all..
Just smoked that ball to 3rd and it turns into a DP at first..
Oy. Come on Crawfish!
Please don’t load the bases…
Hoooo baby!! Bring on the doubles! How doesn’t Yaz score?
That’s why.
He didn’t read it well at all…
Craw ties it up.
Alright Craw!
Yeah came in 1-7 in series, 0-2 whack.
He scores!
Huge!
Yeah Joc!
I picked a good inning to jump into here
Doval time.
Giants should be well represented in the A/S game!
Of course I’m biased but for me it’s Wade,Estrada,Doval& Tyler Rodgers
Even Conforto if he keeps raking..Davis? probably not but who knows?
The team record is 6 in 1966.
Pretty easy to name them.
They had 5 each year from 61-63.
A little harder to name em all.
If you’re curious:

Wow. Another tough win in our usual hell-hole. Although we’ve won our last 12 vs the Rox.
I think.
🧹🧹🧹SWEEPER!!!
Another stunning comeback!!! 32-30 let’s kick some Cubbies butt when they come home!
Didn’t see much of today til end, but…Schmitt (batting 9th) with 0-3, 3-25 6 Ks and 0 BBs.
Since 3-5 game, OPS has dropped from .850 to more pedestrian .714. He can spell Estrada or Davis for occasional day off but doesn’t seem like he’s taking over SS just quite yet.
Kap uses Davis at DH sometimes so there’s another chance for Schmitt to start at 3b.
Giants only have 1 day off, next Thursday, in 17 days. road trip to STL and LA in there plus back East.
Davis makes good plays but he’s up there right behind Sabol and Craw in errors. As James noted, team leads mlb. Schmitt can help. (Also, I gotta believe Craw had some strange seizure that day he committed three Es. Maybe the NY food or water.)
No June swoon so far. Giants displayed great resiliency past two days. Offense delivering clutch hits and relief pitching rock solid. Keep petal to the metal against struggling Cubs.
Rocks pen is a disaster area, and Giants took advantage in all 3 games…
Giants win; Drumpf indicted.
Now, that’s a Daily Double…
Gotta love it.
all an indictment does is help his fundraising. I don’t give a shit about any of this till i see a conviction.
At some point the Republican party has to turn their back on him. Once and for all. They’ve been hedging their bet for 7 years now.
I want an “I AM AN INNOCENT MAN” T-Shirt.
Billy Joel’s website probably sells them.
Nice!
Go Giants!!!!!! Another fun win in comeback fashion!
Go somewhere else with the fuckin’ politics…
Or come here and get murdered on the subway…
11 Miller High Lifes and 30 mg of valium and I still can’t sleep.
The days go on and on.
They don’t end…
A little smoke at night is the only thing that helps me sleep….. or a good full body massa….
