Pffffttttt…..
Just kind of a dud of a game. Those can happen after leaving Coors Field and coming back to our more normal climate. I expect today to be a different story but oh lookie here another goddamn opener bullpen bullshit game. I hate these.

At least Oracle’s defense system neutralized the drone strike.
Baggs talked about Stroman (who had nothing but good things to say about Giants) in Athletic today. He has player option for $24 mil next year, final year of Cubs deal 2 yrs @$50mil. Gotta wonder as Kat said who they would want from giants, and what would happen in bidding war for his services. Or if Cubs would try to extend him. Age 32 as of month ago.
Kap said Bart was in SF yesterday for workout. He’s 2-21 at Sac and Giants can keep him there rehabbing for bit longer. But decision will have to be made at some point–keep him in Sac or put him back on big club?
Andie B. likes Tapit Trice in Belmont.
Could easily win. Hit show is my longshot tho
Giants baseball has been a lot more fun lately but we will probably continue to hover around the .500 level for the rest of this season. We do look a lot more promising for the future though.
I’m fine with .500. As long as we are doing it with guys who are going to be around a while. Oldies like Craw and dudes with zero personality like Flores and Estrada and Yaz, or guys who are leaving after this year like Conforto don’t do it for me. Schmitt and Bailey and anyone else on the way up this season I am rollin’ deep with.
Not with ya on Estrada. I think he’s fine in the IF. Flores? Why not? Wade’s cool as well. Schmitt and Davis and there’s the IF. If Luciano forces his way in when Crawdaddy goes, great.
OF? Yeah, whatever. Will Bishop ever play? Matos Ramos?
But yeah, the one-and-done deals are tiresome. Then again, maybe Conforto wants to stay.
I don’t know. It is all about the call-ups. We will see as this goes on this year and next. But there is no way in hell this team trades for pitching. They are all about the reclamation projects.
Giants/Cubs is one of the Fox games, the other is Yanks/Red Sox. We know which game most of the nation will be getting.
I should stay away from the team and keep my mouth shut, but they finished 17-12 in May and are 4-3 so far in June. Right now, the underlying stats still project a team that finishes with 85-90 wins. If they suck in June like they did in April, I’ll join the “This is a 500 team” chorus.
It’s great you and Mrs. continue to attend. mlb site said 34,800 there last night, so maybe that narrative about Giants need superstars to garner attention from fanbase can be set aside.
Cubs are always a good draw. Big national fan base. Transplant mid-westerners. Holdovers from WGN days and maybe their related generation below, as well?…
And the boos were pretty loud when they announced the cancellation of the drone invasion. Not as many Cubs fans last night as I’ve seen in the past, but more than a few.
It was the drone show. There will be 15,000 today.
Ha. Fans spend $$ for night at the O for that?
Pride Day this evening I think.
Last time I went to the E Coli some out of towners from KY took me just to visit the park and it happened to be Muslim Heritage Night. They really did not understand. Not offended or anything, just perplexed.
Didn’t see it but Baffert’s horse won in return to NY, in the 8th at Belmont, with John Velasquez? wow saw interview with him on HRN.
Arabian Lion.
Hey Larry did you remember to charge the drone’s for the show?
Harrison pitched last night: 4.1 innings 3 hits 1 ER (2 total) 1 BB (!) 6 Ks. Did take him 81 innings but progress I guess as he got into 5th inning for first time. Only 14 BBs in last 7 starts over 26.2 innings
Still, gonna be awhile I think.
Did he give up HR to an A’s prospect? I saw Lockhard apparently bragging about that. Ha.
Yes the 2b Zack Gelof
National Treasure, a proven smogger will win handily. Welcome back, Baffert.
fuck that horse and fuck Baffert.
Loo, I’ll never stop hoping.
Don’t know nothin about horses but sometimes the races are exciting.
Pretty dope that a female trainer won for the first time ever..
Yeah nice work as usual Kapler, pull Brebbia after 6up 6 down 19 pitches and Junis comes in a bomb right away and a HBP!
Merz sez, hey Joc, Yaz, Sabol don’t listen to that go the other way, go up the middle crapola – pull the fucking ball!
Goddamn, Craw robbed by Tauchman.
And you, too, Craw, ya dumbass!
this is so fucking awesome
absolute heart on her sleeve. Very happy for the connections
I saw this on the post-race coverage, that was great.
These announcers are odd. They don’t seem to know each other and the color guy mainly chimes in only to ask dumb questions, as if his prep binder got sabotaged.
This is pathetic.
We could use a hit
Mervis and Morel!
What saves the day for me is I had pancakes for breakfast this morning, the ultimate comfort food.
Bagels with cream cheese, smoked trout, capers, tomato, and red onion.
You don’t fix that at home for breakfast, do you?
Walk to Monterey Market for the Boichik bagels and cream cheese, pick up the smoked trout at Monterey Fish, total trip ~15 minutes. Other stuff on hand.
Well, that sounds pretty darned good, too!
Ok. 40+ years in Berkeley, Piedmont, Oakland. I’ve probably had that breakfast 1000 times(usually lox, tho) and I’ve never prepped it myself. Capers, onions, tomatoes on hand, too. It’s like pizza.
$15 at Saul’s, not as good.
My younger son used to order it for breakfast before early morning LL games. Tho he abjured the capers.
i do this at my house every Sun morning, but it’s smoked salmon not trout
With Boichik bagels? But those weren’t around when my kid liked the sandwich.
ew lot of weak contact, on pitches not even strikes. zzzz
Hendricks getting lot of help from ump too, like he needs it today.
Yeah, alot of help.
Giants alway struggle against junk ballers and Hendrix’s stuff couldn’t break a window.Would not be shocked if they get No Hit against another Cy Young pitcher..
Not feeling as optimistic about this team as I was on Thursday. They’re likely to be double digits behind the D-Backs BEFORE they play them next.
Only thing that might save the season is if a few injuries force them to call up their top three prospects (Harrison, Matos, Whisenhunt).
Maybe they can break up the no-hitter today. Baby steps.
A no-hitter doesn’t really count as a regular loss or harbinger of anything else, right? It’s separate from the flow of the season both for the pitcher who throws it and the teams involved. I’m going with that.
Finally. after Haniger swung at ball 4 and ball 5.
A hit!
And then a 1-pitch out.
Will we see Schmitt and Bailey in the ninth? Wilmer?
Unabomber Ted is dead at 81 good riddance!
Too bad they wasted a good outing by Manaea.
I tend to like Manaea. Kinda wish he’d be given his “starting role” back again…
yeah he was solid. Half a No hitter of his own, right? Only allowed 1 BB in 4.1 in relief of Junis.
flukey no hitter guys: remember Mike Warren throwing one for A’s at end of his first season with them, 1983. 2 years later he was out of ML baseball.
Or Heston. Here we go. Back to sucktown.
I was at that one. Not the most formidable Mets lineup that game, but still hard to believe.
Just looked it up, 7 years ago yesterday. Heston 11 Ks, 1 BB and 3 HBP. Wilmer hit 5th for the Mets.
Ooops, 8 years ago, 2015.
Just a feeling, but I think Bart is not long for the Gmen. He just got reinstated from the injury list and was sent down to Sac . . . If the dude spends 20 days in the minors, he will be out of options in 2024.
