Bam! Drubbed!
A 15-0 drubbing. That’s a fabulous word, isn’t it? Top 15 word of all time, for sure. I also like the word “trousers”. Say it enough times repeatedly, you’ll see what I mean.
Anyway, that was a DRUBBING! A complete and total anhililation. Utterly anihilated. And it couldn’t happen to a shittier team or organization. I would have loved to have been a fly on the parking lot last night as those loser baby blue’d up fans wandered off into the night…….
it was a thing of beauty….first pitch grand slam bitch slap by JD Davis will go down in history…
According to ESPN, the Dodgers hadn’t had a shutout drubbing like that at home since 1898.
That’s amazing John! Zum (I think) said it was historic too. Like how GH described the grand slam above . . . Going to have to remember that one, “first pitch grand slam bitch slap . . .” lmfao!
Gonsolin (1.93 ERA) today vs. Webb. Gonsolin has career record of 17-3 at home vs. 13-4 on road. Last outing at home beat ChiSox but lost his last couple road games to Reds and Braves.
Only given up 26 hits in 46 innings so far, but walks are up and Ks down per 9 vs. 2022.
Giants haven’t seen him since last May when Dogs won in a romp and he held them to 1 run in 5.
Pads got 6 shutout innings with 12 Ks from Blake Snell yesterday in 2-0 W over Rays. SD in town for 4 starting tomorrow night, followed by DBax on weekend. fun times so far in Latrine but lot going on this week.
I was wondering what happened to Tyler Anderson who was 15-5 for the Dodgers last season. It turns out that it was his only season with the Dodgers; he’s with the Angels this season.
Today is Paul McCartney’s 81st birthday!
He just completed a big concert tour, and is now doing a book tour, promoting his book of photographs he took during early Beatlemania concert tours. He said he’d forgotten about the photos over the years and then rediscovered them.
Yes we’re going to a party party…
He’s putting the finishing touches on an AI generated Beatles song, too.
If the Beatles had gone with Andy Summers instead of George, fans could still be dreaming of a reunion.
Then ringo might be in the air more. Thank the lucky stars.

It seems like the Giants never miss a Kershaw start in a Dodger series. This series is the rare series.
I get a daily email with team rankings in key stats. There’s also a column that ranks the teams based on runs scored and runs allowed. It’s dirt simple. Add the team rankings in runs scored and runs allowed, divide by 2. The result is a hybrid number that blends fixed and relative positions within the league without any complex run differential calculations:
SFG 3
ARI 6
ATL. 1
CHI. 6
CIN 10
COL 14
LAD. 6
MIA. 8
MIL. 9
NYM. 11
PHI. 6
PIT 8
SDP. 6
STL 8
WSN. 13
This is useful for taking stock of where a team is at mid-season independent of W-L. The Giants had been at a 4 for a while, jumping to 3 after yesterday. So far, they are the only team in the NL besides Atlanta that has shown a strong balance between pitching and hitting. If SD, LA, and ARI don’t move past 6, and the Giants hold steady, SF will win the West.
And Cards fans have reason to remain hopeful!
Yeah, I almost responded to Daniel’s note. It’s almost always about bad luck when the W-L is worse than the run differential. Plus, they are only 8.5 games out!
Craw now has a higher OPS than Schmitt.
And I really enjoyed Mr.Ed’s AB earlier in the series Fouled that ball off his left foot in obvious pain played alittle possum then continues and hit the next pitch out to ignite that comeback win!
Incredible AB as Wilmet says screw the running I will Just do the slow jog and enjoy the moment around the bases..
Yeah same with JD no hitting, just getting treatment and comes up and hits a GRANDSLAM you can’t write better scripts..
Loved how Lou Williams played (3 time 6th man award winner) . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpgejsZ_HWA
I think this will be Klay’s role going forward. Not as quick as Lou but he can take smaller players into post and shoot midrange over them.
Big year coming up for both Steph and Klay as both were iffy in the playoffs. Klay moreso. Steph still can create up close and get his points, but Klay struggled terribly with is shot. And no one else came through with any consistency. The Dubs shouldn’t have been beaten so easily by the Lakers. Gonna be hard to field a better team this season with all the changes in salary management.
Whenever I see the word “moreso” in print I always pronounce it like it’s Spanish…
Yeah, baby!! Yazz!
I smell sweep. That would be lovely.
Just keep the ball in the park, Webby.
Fuck. Webby finally gets a lead and can’t get an out.
Wow. Estrada and Bailey with the play at the plate. D has really tightened up for the most part.
Rainy rainy here in Orygun.
Dodger defense looking pretty pedestrian.
Webby is his own worst enemy at this point. Buuuuut the DP.
Strange play by Estrada.
Yaz comes through.
First ribbies! Big hit there.
Yeah Matos!
Contributions from everywhere is such a good thing…
Yeah Sabol!
Has this been the most fun series in….how many years? I can’t remember a better one.
Every move Roberts makes doesn’t work. He left Gonsolin in and Giants lit him up, with Matos driving in 2. finally brings in LHP and they continue to add on. gotta love it.
Agree Flav. Frankly, I have been bored with the “no name” cast of characters for the last few years. I have always supported Z’s plan, but it is hard to get excited with “laundry.” Schmitt, Bailey, Wade, and Matos remind me of Timmy, Buster, Craw, Bum, etc.
My Man Bags (one G) wins 6th at Santa Anita on last day of racing there.
What’s with the Giants announcers keep losing track of the outs?
Webb wasn’t at his best today, but he battled and competed and got the job done.
Estes made us cringe yesterday when he pronounced Dave Rader as Dave Radar.
Yeah, ol Dave Radar O’Reilly.
A lump is preferable to swelling…
#drloo
Giants’ rotation officially a shambles, all bullpen, all the time!
Brian Kenny says not a problem!
We gotta get this guy out of there
This is absurd.
How SWEEP it is!
Perfect road trip.
Drama. Doval comes through. What a great series
In the future, let’s not try to close out the 9th with an injured guy.
SWEEP L.A.!!!
Cleveland up on the DBacks 12-3 in the 7th.
Another drubbing.
Unreal how the kids have turned this team around. Walker, Schmitt, Bailey, Matos, and Company have really given this team a kick in the excitement factory.
Our elevation to 2nd place is looking nice on us, but 1st place would be an outstanding, better look.
Bring on the Padres!
The 52 runs scored against the Bums and Cards were the +48 run difference we have in the current standings. Last game against the Cubs, where we won 13-3 (I think) also key to being up in that category now.
So that’s what a good deep start looks like. Wow. Bad luck injuries will now test the pen and bench depths. But the kids are good. The announcers have already adopted the verb glide to describe Matos tracking down high drives at the wall. I still haven’t seen his arm. His other tools, his energy, and his bb iq impress.
The season is now in the hands of Junis, Manaea, Beck, and Winn.
Love that! How Sweep it is!
Can any of the golf fans wonder how many majors Rory would have if he could putt?? Clark has been clutch all day.
SF has to start thinking trade for a established starter. Bullpen will wear down with this much usage. Brebbia already out:(
But please don’t trade any of the touted minor leaguers or laundry guys in the OF.
yeah that’s the issue. Sellers will control the market as there are far more buyers than sellers and everyone needs pitching, Dodgers included.
We’re not gonna get much for Joey and Heliot. Villar too? Wilmer?
Hope Laskey didn’t see Craw and Freeman, Yaz and Betts yakkin’ it up.
Who the fuck is Wyndham Clark?
Didn’t see too much of the Giants this weekend, but hell of a job cs the diggity Dogs. Weather got spectacular today on Lincoln Beach.
Dunno, but since they haven’t renamed BF’s alma mater, I’m assuming Lewis & Clark > Wyndham Lewis.
Love it when the schedule lines up like this, with 3 straight series against division foes who are all fighting for the top. G’s can do some real damage right now. Round 1, done. Exciting times!
great win by Clark. Honestly his first name is the only thing holding him back. Best friends with CMC so we all good there too
Will admit to watching Freddie Freeman ABs with much respect. Except for Acuna he’s MVP caliber player and great hitter. .400 OB, .550 slugging, plays every day. Doesn’t hit as many HRs playing in LA as he did in ATL but that line drive double to LF that he hustled into and beat throw from Conforto was beaut.
Jacques Rozier died. The last of the first New Wave. The least known of them survived the longest. It’s a little like when all of the Beatles, Who, Kinks, and Rolling Stones are finally gone. Only a little. I have the DVD set, so will watch “Adieu Philippine” tonight as a Father’s Day treat.
The bass player for The Smiths passed away recently and that kind of jolted me.
I’m still trippin’ on the fact that Andy Summers of The Police is 80 years old.
Hard to fathom that Jane Fonda is 85. I saw her in one of her new movies recently. It was good. Here’s an older movie:

Freeman hits to all fields so well; he’s really hard to defend. He’s not just some big swing/launch angle guy. He sprays hits all over the place. And is hardly ever out of the lineup.
