Swept
Well, it wasn’t quite the drubbing that we leveled upon them Saturday but 7-3 is still a solid ass kicking. I think that most be the satisfying series we have ever played vs LA. I know we’ve swept their sorry asses before but this was done in truly spectacular fashion. Game 1 we break up a no hitter and come back to beat them. Game 2 we engage in full throttle drubbing. Game 3 we just wax their asses with the game never in doubt.
And the kicker: we did all in front of their loser fans.
Just an incredible weekend for Giants baseball. DennisZ sent me this.

Loser fans..best take…
Dennis sent me one too. I posted it on my FB page. The 4 corners of Earth now know that the Bums got their ass kicked by the Gmen this weekend.
Outside a couple of all-stars in their lineup with Freeman and Betts, boy they looked as mediocre as the Cards, Mets, and Brewers. My son and I were debating whether we should trade our “over-performing” pieces like Joc-Itch, Conforto, Cobb, Descla, bullpen arms not named Doval and pile up as many young talent as we can in trades. Most everyone in baseball that are playoff competitive will always need more and more pitching. He argued in favor, but I cant see the Giants org giving up anybody if they are holding steady in the wild card field with a very week IMO NL this year…Braves may be the cream of the crop and we dont see them till August I think…
where does Dennis live? looks like our part of good ole Virginny…
GH, in New Jersey I believe (might be New York).
very cool danke Blade..go Giants…
Pads are only #12 NL for runs per game, team BA of .228 is worse than that and they 12th across the board for OB/slg/OPS. Lot of underperforming hitters, Cronenworth, all the Cs, DH combo Carpenter and Nelson Cruz.
But, 10-6 this month as pitching allows fewest runs per game and has top NL ERA. Come in having won 7 of 10 and knocked off Rays 2/3 on homestand. 5-12 in one run games and 0-5 in extras, as Pythagoras says they should be 38-33 instead of 35-36 given plus 24 run diff.
Giants by the numbers: 7 game winning streak; 22-9 record since May 15th; 14-2 road record since May 15th; 7 wins when trailing or tied entering 7th inning since May 15th. Not too shabby, particularly road record. But only 8-7 home record since mid-May. Good week to reclaim home dominance with Padres & D-Backs in town.
I remember a 3-game series vs. the Dodgers in SF, in ‘12 or so, when the Giants shut out the Dodgers in all three games. (I was at the Saturday game.) The Dodgers didn’t score a run all weekend. The scores were all like 2-0 and 3-0, I think. An epic sweep.
But this past weekend being in Dodger Stadium, with the 15-0 drubbing included, a game that will forever be known as The Drubbing, ranking in memory with the Donny Two-Times game, this past weekend is the more epic sweep.
I hope to meet up with MacDog for the Saturday game at Citifield on 7/1 if the gods allow it.
I would be a shitty fan not to make at least one of those games that weekend…
Hey Flappers. Long time…heard this place is in commission again. Thanks for that, Flav.
What a run by the Giants over the last several weeks, and then add the 125 year historical ass-whoopin’ AND a sweep over la bumbinos. Heavenly.
Love the never say die attitude of the team, and that a big chunk of the key contritions are coming from the kids.
Fuck yeah!
About time, Chi! Welcome back!
Ryan Walker currently listed as tonight’s starter.
Interesting to see if there’s a spike in attendance…
Hey Loo! Great to see you and some of the old guard here. A few pictures of us (you, Mac, Blade, SanDawg and me) from Blade and my trip. Would love to do another. Hope all is good brother.
Not sure WTF happened with my name on my last post.
lulz
Great to see you on the Flap!
“The Dodgers lost four of six games for the second straight week, exacerbated in a three-game sweep at home to their longtime rival Giants, including the worst home shutout loss since literally the 19th century.
After dropping 18 of their last 30 games, the Dodgers are in third place in the National League West, and are currently in third wild card position, only a game ahead of the Phillies.”
Got a chuckle after reading an LA Times article about the Giants sweep, but was laughing out loud after reading this fan’s comment to the article . . .
“DODGERS, Los Angeles (1958-2023): Expired quietly yesterday in front of 52,307 fans after 65 1/2 mostly happy years here. The Dodgers had been suffering for most of this season but nobody really noticed until this homestand when bad baseball and avoidable politics overwhelmed the franchise. The cause of death included a horrible bullpen, mostly bad starting pitching except for Kershaw, poor managing/leadership, and several underperforming regular players. Suggested remedies such as benching players not hitting their weight, making Max Muncy a DH against righties only, getting a better backup catcher, and reducing Mookie Betts’ salary until he gets close to .300 were ignored. Funeral services and the trade deadline are pending.”
Dennis Z..I am always stoked when the Giants sweep a series, but when it’s my most hatred team in baseball the Dodgers it made for a complete Fathers Day even more special as I celebrated up in SF with my daughter&son in law in, alittle sightseeing, then some pub crawls, and ending up at BuenaVista for a killer late lunch with the have to have Irish ☘️ Coffee, then a Ramos Fizz both super delicious 😋
Had to look that one up, Kat…

My son and his girlfriend took me out yesterday for a Father’s Day game viewing lunch etc. In the last tv walled place we stopped, a large family with similar plans sat at a big table near us. They all wore dodger jerseys. I had a SF hat; my son also, along with a Giants jersey. I suppose after a couple rounds of mezcal cocktails our cheers and jeers got a bit loud. I mean the sweep was on its way. Ah,well. No blood was shed.
What a fine play, Thairo to Walker, to rob Machado of a hit. Nice Thairo play to end the inning.
So whaddaya think? Take a quick trip to space for a million or cruise around the Titanic in a submersible for a quarter? It’s been a tough year. Yeah. Titanic.
Let’s Go!
Let’s Go
Kuiper is addicted to “on the move”…
Wow, a Villar bomb!
Yaz bomb!
Winn pitched well. He looks promising.
Winn was outstanding, particularly after giving up the bomb. He should START every game going forward. Besides, no alternative.
Anyone smelling a walkoff?
Me and every Giant fan on planet Earth 🙂
Tie game!
What a professional job of tagging and scoring from Yaz.
Damn good AB by Bailey, especially after the awful strike 2 call.
That really was a horrible call wasn’t it and yeah the rookie hung in.
So glad when idiot Melvin pulled Hill to start the bottom of the ninth who was lights out! This happens way to often with dumb managers…4-4 let’s win this game now!!
Pederson is pretty feeble vs. lefthanders.
Joc had 2 nice ones to hit, especially the first.
Fake baseball time…
Whose glove is Doval wearing?
Now that’s the way to do it.
YESSS YAZZZZ!!!
That was a professional walk off splash hit from Yaz there. Wow!
Yeahhhhhhhhazzzz
YAZ says let’s end this shit with a Splash 💦!!!!
Giants are smoking 🚬 hot!!!
The Toes Knows
Man, we sure were wrong about some of these guys…
Yaz is a great RF. Let him play. Now we have a fine young CF and a good LF, and we have back ups. And the IF is good and relatively deep. And we have a catcher. WTF? And a pen? The problem is obvious, but so is the winning streak. I really did not think this season would be so much fun.
Word.
Love those bat drops…. better than any mic drop…
