Your putting greatness doesn’t seem to be getting the recognition it deserves here.
Can you post some clips?
Congrats BF I meant to post about that yesterday, those putting events are fun&competitive..
I did see on Instagram that this guy was in a huge mechanical setup John Deere Tractor that had a mammoth putter head on this green he controls the speed with the built in handles with the hole a lot larger along with golf ball.Probably about a 15 footer..
Their was an announcer that was saying 2 putts to win it all, just needed 1 as the Master’s championship is over..
My AA Report:
From Harrisburg PA what an awesome minor league stadium that sits on an island in the what I believe is the Susquehanna River (the guess is good enough). The highlight is that my oldest kid the 24 year old tomorrow and Giant fanatic got Luciano’s autograph on a Giants orange billed cap and youngest one got it on a special Giants branded orange baseball.
The overall game was a perfect brisk just about 2 hours 10 minutes so I like the pitch clock even more. Good team win for the Richmond Flying Squirrels 2-1 good combined pitching effort. I did not see a radar gun to get a sense of how hard they were throwing but we have a lot of lefties in the pen.
Now turning to Luciano, he looks like he will be a legit SS. Thought with his size on paper he may be more likely 2b but he made one solid diving stop and gunned the runner. Now his bat was quiet. Lazy fly ball first at bat pop up to third second and then he stung a grounder and the opposing shortstop made a fantasying stop but trying to gun him out he pulled the first baseman off the bag. He swiped at a speedy Luciano a step before the bag and looked to me down left field line that he missed the tag. First base umpire called him safe and then was overruled with an ump get together. Bad call in my book but then believe he grounded out last at bat going 0-4.
Only five hits for the game, but the most impressive player was Vaun Brown. Only 1-4 but each swing and ball in play was hit solidly and he is as advertised very fast. But the play of the game was a hit to right with Brown diving for the ball in front of him and getting by him. He got up fielded it and threw a laser into third nailing the runner. Interestingly he played with what looks like shorts or cutoff baseball pants with leggings. Surprised in that kind of heat more players don’t play with the same uni.
Logan Wyatt one for three but was not impressive with the bat but some good glove work at first. Aldrete’s nephew Carter drilled a double down left field and has a bit more upper body bulk and let’s see if he can advance to AAA. He was the DH.
Vaun Brown showed off his five tool talent in ST tv games until he got hurt. Announcers compared him to Hunter Pence, but he looked faster to me. 40 40 someday, I thought. I guess that may be possible, if he stays healthy. Good to hear Luciano’s making plays that suggest his back is healed.
Brown is small in stature unless you mean 4 doubles 40 steals. Can’t see him being single digit home run hitter in big leagues.
His power was apparent in ST. And it was spring. And he hit 23 HRs last year, in 103 games.
And times change of course but Brown’s larger than Mays was and similar to Aaron; not unlike Mantle, Mookie, Acuña, Muncy. Otoh, he’s 25 though only recently drafted. Protracted college career for some reason. Long shot, for sure.
[…] Big Head stated, on July 16, 2023 at 8:24 am […]
1. LaMonte Wade Jr. (L) 1B
2. Joc Pederson (L) DH
3. J.D. Davis (R) 3B
4. Michael Conforto (L) RF
5. Mike Yastrzemski (L) LF
6. Luis Matos (R) CF
7. Blake Sabol (L) C
8. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
9. Brett Wisely (L) 2B
P: Alex Wood (L)
Wood back into rotation like he wanted. Had 2 x 5 inning scoreless outings following opener but this is what he prefers.
Horrible but not yesterday’s worst. (Phillies Padres ump was unbelievably bad.)
Poor Hunter Pence stuck with these peahen announcers. One of them just expressed his surprise that the Giants have been able to compete with the “big name” teams.
Yeah they are about as bad as it gets.
That was a risky move by Craw the play was at first I believe.
Yeah he misjudged Joe’s jump.
On the Harrisburg side they have a lanky CF named James Wood whom my son indicated is the #5 prospect in all of mlb. He is only 20 and cranked a homer in the second for their only run. Came over in Juan Soto trade to the Nationals…looked pretty legit but will be surprised he sticks in CF. And former Giant intl signing Lucius Fox was that player at short who made great stop on Luciano but yanked the throw. He was with the Nationals two years ago but now noted at AA.
The clumsy pirate catcher playing RF for them keeps on giving us runs.
A bases loaded hit!
A hit there would have been nice..
Giants to this day NEVER get the respect the deserve!
Look no further then their 3WS titles and they were the Underdogs in all 3!!
They get less RESPECT then RODNEY DANGERFIELD ever did!
Not sure what the hatred is for this team but it never changes much with sports writers and broadcasters, their always an afterthought..
I blame Greg Popovitch. He espoused team ball throughout his career as an NBA coach. Team ball is what the Giants are doing. It’s what they did during their championship run.
They don’t get the highlight reel bombs and wear stupid helmets or swords in the dugout, but they are consistent with their pitching and the hitting is doing enough to drive in runs. In other words, it isn’t flashy nonsense that 3/4 of the teams are doing these days.
Well those Hunter Pence revival tirades in the 2012 dugout with Pablo tossing bushels of sunflower seeds in the air above the other frenzied players got some natl attention.
The young ones are getting fooled by the junk pitches. Other wise we’ve shown some patience at the plate.
This ump is awful.
Most are. Two guys yesterday were nearly perfect, two bad calls each. The really bad guy yesterday had two different zones, one uniformly too tight the other uniformly oversized : Jekyll and Hyde randomly taking turns behind the plate.
Jesus Freaking Christ how do you get the Giants game on this Fucking Peacock 🦚 with out paying 5.99 a month?? Just shows more no respect for the Giants, (first Apple TV which fortunately I have)now this Peacock shoved up your ASS in the 1st games after the break!!
For some reason I get it with Comcast. Poker Face despite its compromises may be worth paying for though.

That’s two strikes called on this guy
Thanks Chuck..I can watch it on my phone but not on TV? Whatever im sure it’s me being retarded ..Fuck Peacock but eaststream is nice option.
Would be nice for a dinger to get an insurance run…
From those watching, was Wood done at time Kap pulled him? Box shows lot of traffic on bases.
Beck OK?
How Beck leaned away from that ld I don’t know but he hopped up laughing.
I wonder if Kap is gonna do anygthinbg
WTF with Rogers?
Kapp waiving the white flag with nobody up?
Ump’s screwing us now
Thanks to the other Rogers for bailing Kapp’s asz out of that with a tie heading to the top 9th…
jeez, my peahen feed is about two batters behind the radio
We dodged a bullet there.
Mine is terrible also lots of hesitation.
Peacock feed really messed up they elided the Giants half of the ninth entirely. Of course the Giants did too. But garbage streaming.
Sounds like my $4.99 boycott was money well saved.
Nice clutch fly there by Joc to get the ghost go ahead home…
Someday a pitcher will take a perfect game into the tenth and lose on two sac flies.
Clutch Conforto !…
Bailey sure is something what a spark for us
Glad that one is over.
Bailey double pushes in 2 more !
NICE!
BIG WIN! Teams with playoff hopes have to win these games. Go Giants!!
Rare SWEEP in Pittsburgh over the Bucs !
Great way to start a long hot roadie…
Whew. Nice short flight to Cin city now.
Glad that one is over.
Webb and Cobb bookend 4 game series. Webb needs to win game 1!
Yeah, nice of the braintrust to give Webb some extra time off. Save him for the Cincy series.
Brewers swept Reds in Cincy. Elly 0-12 w 5 Ks. Can’t steal 1b.
Stros rookie SS Grae Kessinger is grandson of Don Kessinger, still alive at age 80.
LA, DBs, Pads all lose.
Saw a tweet that Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley/Albany will shut down this year. Imagine a ballpark there. Impossible, I suppose.
What I see with the Reds is a team that is dealing with massively raised expectations now, and the pressure that goes with that. When they started winning, it was all loosey-goosey fun, because it was so unexpected. But now their fans expect them to excel, and it’s a new experience for their young players.
Still a very dangerous team, though.
The Reds, like the Marlins, have a negative run differential. Both are over 500. One team every few years gets that lucky for a whole season. I hope both of these “brimming with young talent” frauds crash and burn. But the Reds are on a losing streak and the Giants have won 5 in a row. That’s not good timing for my ill wishes. I’m already dreading the De La Cruz hype when he goes off for a few games against SF, the “why can’t we have someone that dynamic” wailing.
Yeah I’d hate to see Elly Hella Chains entertain fans in the Bay Area. What a disaster. Otoh, I won’t be disappointed if Bailey throws him out a few times.
Reds pitching per B/R among bottom 3 NL for lot of stats…RA, ERA bombs given up (25 more than they have hit) WHIP yada yada.
I might be entertained by him in retrospect after any game the Giants win.
Do you smear on eye black before games?
I envy your healthy relationship with the game. Bravo.
Yikes. My health’s actually declining. That’s why the MD prescribed dialectics.
Never been to GGF. Used to go to Bay Meadows years ago. Gonna have to go there before it shuts down.
Pride of the Yankees just came on teh MLB channel. Never seen it.
That’s dirty pool!
A’s fan Splash troll used to quote that all the time. Mossback?
The Reds SP for tomorrow rookie Brandon Williamson has ERA of 5.21 in 10 starts and walks almost 4 a game.
btw, Reds used Derek Law yesterday.
Wasn’t he known as the “Doughy F”?
Reds started the season with terrible attendance. They set a record in April for lowest in ballpark history–about 7,000. They started selling out last month–at least some games–and tv viewership skyrocketed. Amazing turnaround.
Shit, look at the Giants. Early games were 8,000. Game I went to last weekend was 32,000.
Bullshit. The Giants neared ballpark low about 20,000 in April.

We need 3/4!
“Pride of the Yankees just came on teh MLB channel. Never seen it.”
The first hour is a mixed bag, but the last half hour is very strong.
I sure had a great time with MacDog, SanDog and his friends tonight.
Flavor makes this possible…
